HORROR/THRILLER: Obscure, Overlooked & Underrated

CONSTANTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION: I plan to stop when I reach 300 titles... because IMDb lists have 100 films per page and I reckon 3 pages is enough. I can't understand people who make lists that include thousands of titles... especially not lists like, "FILMS I'VE WATCHED", that include several thousand titles. It reminds me of Murray's mate in FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS who asks Bret and Jemaine how many people they've met :D When I reach 300 titles, I shall be forced to start sacrificing the weak in favour of the fresh meat ;)

I'm one of those people who watches at least the first 30 minutes of every single horror flick that comes out. I've seen everything in the Weekly Horror section of every Video Shop in the world. Here's a few half-decent scary movies that may have passed you by. PLEASE NOTE: This list may contain traces of Brutal Black Comedy, Sadistic Science Fiction or Incredibly Intense Action. Don't get me wrong, most of these films are bad in a good way... or do I mean good in a bad way? This is merely a list of frightening flicks which I believe are worthy of a bit more credit and should therefore be experienced by any-and-all self-respecting terror buffs... who are bored out of their tiny little minds and scraping the bottom of the barrel. Whenever I endure an obscure horror/thriller that I consider worthy of at least 6/10, I'll add it to the list. You might want to bookmark my list and probe it every few months. I look forward to your comments and/or criticisms. Until then... SWEET DREAMS!

Forget Horror Buffs! This film should be on the bucket list of every self-respecting film fanatic. Although once should surely be enough! I've always considered it to be like a deeply dark and desperately disturbing R-rated Aussie version of FORREST GUMP :D SPOILER ALERT & WARNING: Bubby is tormenting his pet cat at the start of the film. I'm certain that an RSPCA Rep was on-hand to supervise. Don't be put off by the animal cruelty (that should be the least of your worries anyway), the torment is justified further down the track in a scene that had me rather choked up. Probably could've done without seeing Willis' willy though. The cast is very impressive and I consider most, if not all of the characters to be quite well-drawn. Extra kudos goes to Brad Dourif, Lance Henriksen & Lesley Ann Warren. I also appreciated the twist at the end... to some extent.
