I liked the movie because it has a flavor of small town relationship, where everyone knows each other and wishes the best for them. Usually gay movies are set in big cities, but this one has a home feeling to it and my favorite story line was with the main character and his high school crush - it was realistic, heartfelt and had an in depth feel to it.

“ A father Greg, homosexual, comes to a new parish and starts with his work there, in a small local community. He is driven and passionate. First story line starts when he finds out from a confession of a teenage girl that her father is sexually abusing her. He advises her to talk with the father and tell him to stop, which leads to the father also confessing to Greg and explaining to him that incest is the most natural thing and that everyone deep down themselves wish to do it. Greg is trapped between the seal of confession and his philanthropic desire to help the little girl.
The other story line is with him meeting a guy Graham in a gay club and starting a casual relationship with him, all the time being dragged apart by contradictory and mixed feelings. Once while in car together and parked, they are found by the police and dragged to court which exposes the Greg's sexuality to the community and draws him apart.
I liked the movie because of the inner struggle of the main character and the human support which was given to him by his fellow priest, Matthew. The movie shows all of us with our inherent frailties and mistakes that we make and calls for compassion, but not strict adherence to the rules of Catholic church. ” - drazen-n

The movie is such a great depiction of the friendships and relationships between gay people and inner struggles and problems that that lifestyle imposes.
I hugely recommend to see this gem, especially because it was such a great pioneer in its time. You will be amazed to see that not much of the film is dated - besides the technology, lot of exclusive "gay" behavior and talk is still actual and recognizable today. ” - drazen-n
