Justice League Cast

by Mike Parker | created - 01 Aug 2012 | updated - 10 Aug 2012 | Public

This is a list of the actors/actresses who I think would be great in a Justice League live-action movie.

I will not include anyone from the Dark Knight Trilogy as I'm trying to make it a little more realistic. I'm not making a cast for only one movie, rather a cast for a series of Justice League movies (meaning separate films and then a series of Justice League films).

I can't name all A-list actors/actresses because that would be too unrealistic. THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION...so don't hate. Still, feel free to give some of your thoughts and opinions.

It's not yet finished, so I'll be updating it every now and then

1. Henry Cavill

Actor | Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born on the Bailiwick of Jersey, a British Crown dependency in the Channel Islands. His mother, Marianne (Dalgliesh), a housewife, was also born on Jersey, and is of Irish, Scottish and English ancestry. Henry's father, Colin Richard Cavill, a stockbroker, is of ...

Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent

He's already playing Superman in the Man of Steel movie coming out in 2013, so this is a shoe-in. Although he doesn't have the height (Superman is supposed to be 6'4, Cavill is only 6'1), he's got the Superman physique.

2. Kate Beckinsale

Actress | Underworld: Evolution

Kate Beckinsale was born on 26 July 1973 in England, and has resided in London for most of her life. Her mother is Judy Loe, who has appeared in a number of British dramas and sitcoms and continues to work as an actress, predominantly in British television productions. Her father was Richard ...

Wonder Woman/Princess Diana of Themyscira

She has everything it takes to be a great Wonder Woman. She's decently tall (about 5'8, 6'0 with heels), she has the slim figure, she's extremely hot, and most of all, she can kick some major ass.

3. Matt Bomer

Actor | The Normal Heart

Matthew Staton Bomer was born in Webster Groves, Greater St. Louis, Missouri, to Elizabeth Macy (Staton) and John O'Neill Bomer IV, a Dallas Cowboys draft pick. Matt was raised in Spring, Texas, and educated at Klein High School, near Houston. After school, he attended Carnegie Mellon University in...

Batman/Bruce Wayne

I originally said Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but Bomer fits the role much better. Good looks, rocks a suit like a true boss, and with training, he can play Batman. He would be a great replacement for Christian Bale.

4. Ryan Reynolds

Actor | Deadpool

Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born on October 23, 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the youngest of four children. His father, James Chester Reynolds, was a food wholesaler, and his mother, Tammy, worked as a retail-store saleswoman. Between 1991-93, Ryan appeared in Fifteen (1990), a ...

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

I know Green Lantern wasn't a great movie, but Ryan Reynolds was one of the bright spots in it. I ridiculed the idea of Reynolds playing Hal at first, but he played the role pretty well. But if not Reynolds, I think Nathan Fillion would be a great choice to play Hal, considering Fillion has voiced him in the animated features and has the looks to go with the voice.

5. Ryan Gosling

Actor | Blue Valentine

Canadian actor Ryan Gosling is the first person born in the 1980s to have been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar (for Half Nelson (2006)).

He was born Ryan Thomas Gosling on November 12, 1980, in London, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Donna (Wilson), a secretary, and Thomas Ray Gosling, a ...

The Flash (Barry Allen)

After watching Drive and Ides of March, it became easier to take Gosling as a serious actor rather than a teen heartthrob. He can definitely play the role of the wise-cracking Barry Allen.

6. Carl Lumbly

Actor | Men of Honor

From stage to screen, Carl Lumbly is an actor respected for his steadfast talent, versatility and class. His prolific career includes over 50 credits in television, film and the theatre and extensive critical acclaim.

He portrayed CIA agent 'Marcus Dixon,' the gentle, mild-mannered field partner to ...

Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onzz

Since he'll have to be all CGI, Lumbly will only be voicing him like he did in the TV series. But he can also play one of his human forms.

7. Armie Hammer

Actor | The Social Network

Armand Douglas Hammer was born in Los Angeles, California, to Dru Ann (Mobley) and Michael Armand Hammer, a businessman. His great-grandfather, Armand Hammer, was a prominent tycoon and philanthropist who ran the company Occidental Petroleum for many decades. Armie's ancestry includes ...

Aquaman/Arthur Curry

He looks like a pretty good fit for Aquaman to me.

8. Bruce Willis

Actor | Die Hard

Actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for playing wisecracking or hard-edged characters, often in spectacular action films. Collectively, he has appeared in films that have grossed in excess of $2.5 billion USD, placing him in the top ten stars in terms of box office receipts.

Walter Bruce ...

Lex Luthor

Do I really need an explanation for this one, Willis would be perfect as Luthor. I also think Billy Zane would be another good fit for Luthor.

9. Michael Clarke Duncan

Actor | The Green Mile

Michael Clarke Duncan was born on December 10, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. Raised by his single mother, Jean, a house cleaner, on Chicago's South Side, Duncan grew up resisting drugs and alcohol, instead concentrating on school. He wanted to play football in high school, but his mother wouldn't let ...

Darkseid

Darkseid will be an all-CGI character, so Duncan would only be voicing. He can also voice Kilowog like he did in Green Lantern or even Gorilla Grodd in a Flash movie.

10. Corey Burton

Actor | Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Corey Burton was born on August 3, 1955 in West Los Angeles, California, USA as Corey Gregg Weinberg. He is known for his work on Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), The Transformers: The Movie (1986) and Batman: Arkham City (2011).

Brainiac

Another voice-only role. He has done the voice of Brainiac a lot, so it would make sense.

11. Mark Strong

Actor | The Imitation Game

British actor Mark Strong, who played Jim Prideaux in the 2011 remake of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), is often cast as cold, calculating villains. But before he became a famous actor, he intended to pursue a career in law.

Strong was born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia in London, England, to an ...

Sinestro

He played the role of Sinestro very well in Green Lantern so I would expect him to reprise the role. Strong could also play a pretty good Lex Luthor if he wasn't going to play Sinestro.

12. Johnny Depp

Actor | Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Johnny Depp is perhaps one of the most versatile actors of his day and age in Hollywood.

He was born John Christopher Depp II in Owensboro, Kentucky, on June 9, 1963, to Betty Sue (Wells), who worked as a waitress, and John Christopher Depp, a civil engineer.

Depp was raised in Florida. He dropped ...

The Joker

It will be almost impossible to follow up Heath Ledger's iconic performance. But Depp can play almost any role, especially when that guy is a crazy lunatic. Just a reminder, the fans originally wanted him to play the Joker in The Dark Knight.

13. Michael Shannon

Actor | Take Shelter

Michael Corbett Shannon was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Geraldine Hine, a lawyer, and Donald Sutherlin Shannon, an accounting professor at DePaul University. His grandfather was entomologist Raymond Corbett Shannon.

Shannon began his professional stage career in Chicago. His ...

General Zod

He's playing Zod in Man of Steel for those of you who may or may not know. From the stills that I have seen from Man of Steel, he looks pretty good as Zod.

14. Brandon Routh

Actor | Superman Returns

Brandon James Routh (pronounced like "south") was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in nearby Norwalk. He is the son of Catherine LaVonne (Lear), a teacher, and Ronald Wayne Routh, a carpenter. Routh has English, Scottish, and German ancestry. He attended the University of Iowa and starred in ...

Captain Marvel

The way he played Superman in Superman Returns wasn't bad, but the cheesy Chris Reeves-like performance would fit Captain Marvel more than Superman in today's day and age. But Captain Marvel will most likely not have his own movie and will be introduced in one of the Superman movies.

15. Thomas Horn

Actor | Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

Thomas Horn won on "Jeopardy!" during Kids Week with an earning of 31,000 after wagering 12,000 during Final Jeopardy. His acting career kicked off when he was cast in the feature film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which was based on the 2005 novel by Jonathan S. Foer. This drama received a ...

Billy Batson

We can't have Captain Marvel without Billy Batson. Horn has some similarities to Routh (or maybe it's just me) so I think that would work out alright.

16. Charlie Hunnam

Actor | Sons of Anarchy

Charles Matthew Hunnam was born in Newcastle, England on April 10, 1980, to Jane (Bell), a business owner, and William Hunnam, a scrap metal merchant. At 18 years of age, he made a guest appearances in the popular TV series Byker Grove (1989).

He gained fame in Britain thanks to his television role ...

Green Arrow/Olive Queen

I think he could pull this off easily. Again, I don't think Green Arrow and Black Canary will have their own movie, rather be introduced (most likely) in one of the future Batman movies

17. Yvonne Strahovski

Actress | Dexter

Yvonne Jaqueline Strzechowski was born and raised in Australia. Her parents were Polish immigrants. She attended the Santa Sabina College for her high school education. She then went on to study Performance at the University of Western Sydney's School of Contemporary Arts, graduating in 2003. ...

Black Canary/Dinah Lance

Blonde hair, pretty attractive, and can kick ass, lock her in for that role. I was initially going to say Diana Agron because she had the looks, but she's not an action-movie type of actress.

18. Bryan Cranston

Actor | Breaking Bad

Bryan Lee Cranston was born on March 7, 1956 in Hollywood, California, to Audrey Peggy Sell, a radio actress, and Joe Cranston, an actor and former amateur boxer. His maternal grandparents were German, and his father was of Irish, German, and Austrian-Jewish ancestry. He was raised partly by his ...

Commissioner James Gordon

When he sported the crop duster 'stache and the glasses in Breaking Bad, I thought he looked exactly like Gordon. He even voiced Gordon in the animated film Batman: Year One.

19. Amy Adams

Actress | Arrival

Amy Lou Adams was born in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy, to American parents, Kathryn (Hicken) and Richard Kent Adams, a U.S. serviceman who was stationed at Caserma Ederle in Italy at the time. She was raised in a Mormon family of seven children in Castle Rock, Colorado, and has English, as well as ...

Lois Lane

Although I don't like her as Lois Lane, she's already playing (a red-headed) Lois in Man of Steel, so this is another shoe-in. Don't get me wrong I think Amy Adams is very attractive and a good actress, I just don't think she's the type to play Lois.

20. Russell Crowe

Actor | Les Misérables

Russell Ira Crowe was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Jocelyn Yvonne (Wemyss) and John Alexander Crowe, both of whom catered movie sets. His maternal grandfather, Stanley Wemyss, was a cinematographer. Crowe's recent ancestry includes Welsh (where his paternal grandfather was born, in Wrexham),...

Jor-El

Another shoe-in, from what I've seen so far from Man of Steel, I think he won't be bad as Jor-El.

21. Laura Vandervoort

Actress | Smallville

Laura Vandervoort is a Canadian actress, writer and producer whom has become well known worldwide from her roles as Indigo on 'Supergirl', Kara (Supergirl) on 'Smallville,' Lisa on the series 'V,' the lead of the series 'Bitten' Elena along with many other films and television series. She has a ...

Supergirl/Kara Zor-El

She played Kara in Smallville and she looked great doing so.

22. Kelsey Grammer

Actor | Cheers

A six-time Emmy Award winner, Kelsey Grammer was born in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to Sally (Cranmer), a singer, and Frank Allen Grammer, Jr., a musician and restaurateur. He was raised in New Jersey and Florida. Grammer was drawn to the works of William Shakespeare and spent two years at ...

Perry White

Yeah I know Laurence Fishburne is playing Perry in Man of Steel, but Kelsey Grammer would be a better fit in my opinion.

23. Christopher Plummer

Actor | Beginners

Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer was born in Toronto, Ontario. He is the only child of Isabella Mary (Abbott), a secretary to the Dean of Sciences at McGill University, and John Orme Plummer, who sold securities and stocks. He is a great-grandson of John Abbott, who was Canada's third Prime Minister...

Alfred Pennyworth

Michael Caine played the role magnificently in the Dark Knight Trilogy, but I think Chris Plummer can do it just as well.

24. Serinda Swan

Actress | Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Serinda Swan was born on July 11, 1984 in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to an actress mother and theatre director father. She always had her eye on acting. Her mother would frequently take her on set, when she was little. When she was three years old, she starred in her first motion ...

Zatanna

She played the role in Smallville. Plus, she's hot and she can rock a top hat and skimpy magician outfit.

25. Daniel Day-Lewis

Actor | There Will Be Blood

Born in London, England, Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis is the second child of Nicholas Blake, Poet Laureate of the U.K., and his second wife, actress Jill Balcon. His maternal grandfather was Sir Michael Balcon, an important figure in the history of British cinema and head of the famous Ealing ...

Ra's Al Ghul

He's an amazing actor and the role will just be natural to him.

26. Stana Katic

Actress | Castle

Stana Katic stars in the new 10-episode TV series "Absentia," produced by Sony Pictures Television and premiering on Amazon.

Stana's feature film work includes: CBGB about the Punk Rock club in NYC, Big Sur based on the Jack Kerouac novel, Frank Miller's film The Spirit, Robert Benton's Feast of ...

Talia Al Ghul

She voiced Talia in the Arkham City video game, and she has the looks and ass-kicking ability to fit the role

27. Edward Norton

Actor | American History X

American actor, filmmaker and activist Edward Harrison Norton was born on August 18, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised in Columbia, Maryland.

His mother, Lydia Robinson "Robin" (Rouse), was a foundation executive and teacher of English, and a daughter of famed real estate developer ...

Two-Face

I just have a feeling he could be a great Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

28. Logan Lerman

Actor | The Perks of Being a Wallflower

One of today's leading talents across both independent and mainstream film, Logan Lerman is an immensely talented actor who takes on challenging roles and brings dynamic characters to life on screen.

Logan was born in Beverly Hills, to a Jewish family. His parents are Lisa (Goldman), who worked as ...

Jimmy Olsen

He's not a ginger like Jimmy is, but if we can have a redhead Lois, why not a Jimmy with dark hair. I think he can play a pretty good Jimmy...JIMMEH!!!!
