This movie is amazing! I'm not big into comic or superhero movies, but I absolutely loved this movie! The night before I went and saw this, my boyfriend and I caught up on all the movies leading up to this and I'm thankful for that! This movie turned out great! - DirectorGary RossStarsJennifer LawrenceJosh HutchersonLiam HemsworthKatniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games: a televised competition in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death.3rd movie I saw this year.
I loved this movie! I never read any of the books. In fact, I went into the theatre knowing absolutely nothing about this movie. Turned out to be amazing! - DirectorPhil LordChristopher MillerStarsJonah HillChanning TatumIce CubeA pair of underachieving cops are sent back to a local high school to blend in and bring down a synthetic drug ring.9th movie I saw this year.
This movie was HILARIOUS. Some of the lines are absolutely fantastic!! - DirectorGuy RitchieStarsRobert Downey Jr.Jude LawJared HarrisDetective Sherlock Holmes is on the trail of criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty, who is carrying out a string of random crimes across Europe.2nd movie I saw this year.
I didn't think this would be better than the first one, but it was! Loved it! - DirectorDavid FincherStarsDaniel CraigRooney MaraChristopher PlummerJournalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for 40 years by young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.1st movie I saw this year.
I never saw the original or read any of the books, but this movie looked good to me! Which surprised me because it's not usually a movie I'd be interested in. I definitely found it worth the almost three hour theatre sitting, though :). - DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane.10th movie I saw this year.
Like I said before, I'm not a big comic/superhero movie person. I also haven't ever seen the first in this trilogy. But I did enjoy this movie a lot! And I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up at one point. - DirectorSean AndersStarsAdam SandlerAndy SambergLeighton MeesterWhile in his teens, Donny fathered a son, Todd, and raised him as a single parent until Todd's 18th birthday. Now Donny resurfaces just before Todd's wedding after years apart, sending the groom-to-be's world crashing down.16th movie I saw this year.
I thought this movie looked like it was going to be absolutely stupid... but it turned out to be HILARIOUS!!! - DirectorHenry JoostAriel SchulmanStarsStephen DunhamKatie FeatherstonMatt ShivelyIt has been five years since the disappearance of Katie and Hunter, and a suburban family witness strange events in their neighborhood when a woman and a mysterious child move in.17th movie I saw this year.
I absolutely LOVE the Paranormal Activity movies. Sooo... of course this would be up higher on my list :). Thankfully, I finally got to see a horror-y film this year that I actually liked :D. I think the third one was scarier, but I definitely got my jumps and gasps out of this movie! - DirectorAdam ShankmanStarsJulianne HoughDiego BonetaTom CruiseA small-town girl and a city boy meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams.19th movie I've seen this year.
I love music so of course I loved this movie! Some pretty interesting actors in it. It had kind of a glee feel to it, so it's good :) - DirectorJason MooreStarsAnna KendrickBrittany SnowRebel WilsonBeca, a freshman at Barden University, is cajoled into joining The Bellas, her school's all-girls singing group. Injecting some much needed energy into their repertoire, The Bellas take on their male rivals in a campus competition.21st movie I saw this year.
This movie also had a glee kind of feel to it, so I liked it. It had some pretty good music in it. A kind of theme through the movie was, "The ending is the best part". And that is exactly what this movie did! It had a great ending!! - DirectorHeitor DhaliaStarsAmanda SeyfriedJennifer CarpenterWes BentleyA woman is convinced her kidnapper has returned when her sister goes missing.12th movie I saw this year.
I LOVE Amanda Seyfried. When it comes to this movie though, the ending is what really got me. I'm always the person that's saying "what a HORRIBLE ending" and getting disappointed with movies. But for this movie, I absolutely LOVED the ending and that's a big thing for me. - DirectorSteven SoderberghStarsChanning TatumAlex PettyferOlivia MunnA male stripper teaches a younger performer how to party, pick up women, and make easy money.8th movie I saw this year.
Most women went and saw this movie for just something to look at. I went because my aunt took me. I won't lie, I love me some Channing Tatum, but I'm not into watching nudity, strippers, or big muscles (honestly... muscles don't turn me on much). I actually followed the plot, which wasn't that bad. - DirectorMichael SucsyStarsRachel McAdamsChanning TatumSam NeillA car accident puts Paige in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss, her husband Leo works to win her heart again.14th movie I saw this year.
This movie didn't make me cry as much as I thought it would, but I did love it. I'm a sucker for lovey-dovey movies. - DirectorBill CondonStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonTaylor LautnerAfter the birth of Renesmee/Nessie, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.18th movie I saw this year.
Alright, so... before you make any assumptions, I am NOT a 'Twi-hard' person. I have never read the books, and the only reason I have seen all of these are because the females in my family drag me to go see them. Now... the movie was ok. Not freaking amazing or anything like that, but I'm not going to bash on Twilight just because that's what the 'cool' people on the internet do. (SPOILERS): While I was watching this movie, I was already thinking of what I would say in my mini review. The fight scene towards the end (which ends up being just Alice's sight of the future) was pretty AWESOME! More than once, my jaw dropped watching that scene. I was going to come home and type, "The fight scene at the end of the movie made up for the rest of it!!!!!" And it would have probably been higher on my list if that would have really happened. Because... main characters dying?! AWESOME. But all in all, the movie was alright for another Twilight movie. Kristen Stewart probably looks the best in this movie. Aaaand, I'm happy it's over haha. - DirectorRobert VinceStarsCheryl LaddGeorge NewbernDanny WoodburnWhen the Christmas spirit mysteriously begins to disappear, the playful and mischievous Santa Pups - Hope, Jingle, Charity and Noble - must race to save Christmas.20th movie I saw this year.
This was probably the hardest movie for me to place. I mean.... it was cute, definitely. But it's just sooo.... Christmas-y and kid-y, ya know? Which I don't mind too much but it just makes it hard to place. Not all the acting was great, either =/ - DirectorLen WisemanStarsColin FarrellBokeem WoodbineBryan CranstonA factory worker, Douglas Quaid, begins to suspect that he is a spy after visiting Rekall - a company that provides its clients with implanted fake memories of a life they would like to have led - goes wrong and he finds himself on the run.11th movie I saw this year.
I did enjoy this movie, but I have to be honest and say it confused me... a lot. =/. I understand it now, but after my boyfriend and I left the theatre, I had to have him explain it to me. The action was good though! - DirectorDavid WainStarsJennifer AnistonPaul RuddMalin AkermanRattled by sudden unemployment, a Manhattan couple surveys alternative living options, ultimately deciding to experiment with living on a rural commune where free love rules.13th movie I saw this year.
This movie did make me laugh, but I don't know, I just didn't like the concept of it I guess. Some parts did make me laugh my butt off. I also got my new favorite quote from this movie, "I live wherever I am." - DirectorNicholas StollerStarsJason SegelEmily BluntChris PrattOne year after meeting, Tom proposes to his girlfriend, Violet, but unexpected events keep tripping them up as they look to walk down the aisle together.7th movie I saw this year.
I did like this movie when I went and saw it. It's just I've seen a lot more that I like better. And Jason Segel is great! This movie made me sad a little. - DirectorChris RenaudKyle BaldaStarsZac EfronTaylor SwiftDanny DeVitoA 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.6th movie I saw this year.
This movie was cute, but it also bored me. Bored me so much, that I actually dozed off for a little bit in the theatre. I'll have to try and watch it again without falling asleep and see if it gets bumped up higher on my list. - DirectorDrew GoddardStarsKristen ConnollyChris HemsworthAnna HutchisonFive college friends head out to a remote cabin for a getaway, but things don't go as planned when they start getting killed. They soon discover that there is more to the cabin than it seems.4th movie I saw this year.
This movie disappointed me so much. The trailers made it look scary, but it wasn't that at all. I understand the message that it was trying to give off about the government being controlling and blah blah, but it was just ridiculous! SPOILERS AHEAD: When we find out the government is in charge of and handles all the scary and nightmarish beings, I lost tons of interest. Like I said before, endings are a huge thing for me. I thought maybe something redeeming would happen and I could gain my respect back for this movie, but the absolute ending was just stupid! Because of the whole human sacrifice thing at the very end, instead of leaving the theatre saying, "That was a terrible ending!", I left saying, "What a ridiculously stupid ending. That made the entire movie horrible!" Thus making it my least favorite movie of the year and really the only one that I didn't like. - DirectorBradley ParkerStarsJesse McCartneyJonathan SadowskiOlivia Taylor DudleySix tourists hire an extreme tour guide who takes them to the abandoned city Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. During their exploration, they soon discover they are not alone.15th movie I saw this year.
Welp.... I didn't think I would see a movie this year that I disliked more than The Cabin In The Woods, but this one takes it. Here's why (SPOILERS): First of all, I was SO pumped to see this movie because it looked like it was going to be scary! Not scary at all. The only GOOD thing I liked about this movie was that everybody died (I know... morbid, but I enjoy movies where everybody dies haha). The rest is just... sucky. The previews made you think there were going to be deformed (and scary looking) creatures, animals, and people. There was one bear (which did nothing), an ugly fish (did nothing), mean dogs (not deformed or creepy), and just ugly, normal looking bald "patients" which I guess are cannibals. You literally see NOBODY die. You see dead people. Or you see people get taken away and are left to assume they are dead... but you don't get to see them die! You see no murders, nobody getting ate, nobody getting beat to death. What's the fun in that? I suppose there was one more thing about the movie that wasn't bad.... it's the order the people die. The main character and probably the most well-known actor is one of the firsts dead. And the last one alive isn't who you would expect it to be. But still.... this movie sucked more than the previous.
