A friend said to me that I would probably like this movie, that it seemed sort of my taste, and that I reminded them a little of the main character. So I went and watched it. I was thrown right into a harmony of sounds and pictures. All the different idioms, metaphors and expressions that I had never heard of really intrigued me, and the language is a real charm about this movie. I love it for the experimental cinematography, the diverse characters, the somewhat complicated story and especially the exotic communication between the characters. Brendan is also one of the coolest main characters I've beheld.
Potential all-time favorite scene: The magnificent schoolyard chase.

Depressing movies makes you focus on the little, good things. Well, the scene in the den under the mattress is one of the most uplifting scenes I've witnessed in a movie. A glimmer of hope in a wasteland. I love the eerie atmosphere this movie carries, and I guess I have a little thing for survival movies. Viggo Mortensen remains one of my few favorite actors.

The whole experience reminds me of the masterpiece "Serial Experiments Lain". Aronofsky did indeed mention that he was inspired by Japanese anime, among other things. Anyhow, I was unbelievably entertained by the freaky portrayal of the deteriotation of Max's sanity. This is a superb movie.

My fascination for this movie grew over time. The scenes are trying your patience at times, but fortunately I found that to be worthwhile. And, as we all know, this is Sofia Coppola, so there's pretty much no way I'm not going to appreciate it anyway. Elle Fanning is wonderful.

As I was watching this amazing cyberpunk cult classic back in October 2010, I suddenly remembered having watched bits and parts of it as a kid. Then I recalled a whole long forgotten memory where I sat in a camper eating "Max Boller i tomatsaus". Back to the film, I'm still waiting to see anything that can match this movie in terms of futuristic, cyber-infused atmosphere and story.

An in-depth examination of the ways in which the U.S. Vietnam War impacts and disrupts the lives of people in a small industrial town in Pennsylvania.

This movie is manly. I can't say I would watch the wedding scenes all over again, but they worked well to provide huge contrasts to the second half of the movie. The hunting scenes were euphoric. In some scenes, this movie made me cringe up in tears and sympathy for the characters.
57. Sin City (2005)

5 years since I watched it alone, as a 12yo, on uncle's television. I'm still overly fascinated by what I saw. Perfectly brutal and macabre, it holds to be a first-class watch. Alexis Bledel's blue eyes were absorbingly beautiful.
58. Den brysomme mannen (2006)

In a strange city where every person seems content beyond reason a new man arrives in town and stirs up trouble by asking too many questions.

Dark, dark, and so incredibly funny humour. At the same time, it felt kind of depressing, as all black comedies do, seeing all that crap happen to people. But the ending cleared my mind of all derogatory thoughts and sent me straight to Cloud 9, so I've got no complaints.

Oh, another slightly tedious, family-friendly, basic-morale American movie. Yeah? I THOUGHT SO TOO. BUT I WAS WRONG. This movie is highly inspiring on all aspects. Robin Williams's greatest movie. It was also fun to see Wils- uh, I mean Robert Sean Leonard and Ethan Hawke as teenagers.

Votes: 112,664 | Gross: $36.91M
This film just clicks with me. The peculiar lighting with a tinge of blue throughout the film could either be horrible or awesome. For me it becomes the latter. I got vibes from Up In The Air. Either way, the twist really had me going and I liked the ending.

I watched this without knowing it was a prequel to Fallen Angels. The connection was made when I saw the jukebox. This is such a lighthearted film in comparison, but they're equally sweet.

I instantly recognized Ki-duk Kim's style when I saw this film. There are two main stories going on here and they kind of clash, but Ki-duk, who's definitely one of my favorite directors, managed to sail the ship ashore with his wonderful ways of conveying a message.

First film I saw by Kevin Bacon. Immediate respect ensued. I have a strange mix of sympathy and contempt for his character.
Potential all-time favorite scene: In the park, last conversation between Walter and Robin.

This film has the honor of taunting such emotion in me that I let the tears roll for the first time to a film. I was 12, in love and easily swayed, so I guess it was a good time to break the barrier. The love-ridden connection between Tristan and Isolde was excruciating.

Grshhh, ow ow ow! Love hurts, but in this movie it burns your flesh to crisp and sticks sharp needles under your nails! And what an insanely tolerant main character. On another note, Jonny Greenwood really nailed the mood in this one.

Terrible acting. Tactless editing. Ridiculous dialogue. Awkward pacing. Teenage clichés. Amateurish use of music (which basically consists of mediocre indie pop songs). But somehow, I fell for this movie.
