Now this is why I love movies! This film is everything that I wanted this film to be and more! This was my most anticipated film of 2012 and I've been excited for this film since I walked out of 2008's instant classic "The Dark Knight". If you know me "The Dark Knight" is one of my all-time favorite films. As of right now I think this film is better than its predecessor! I absolutely adore this film! I remember after "The Avengers" over 2 months ago I said I had no idea how Rises would top it and it a long shot! This is Christopher Nolan's best film! He also wrote the script along with his brother John and David Goyer. The dialogue is fantastic throughout. Every actor in this film is fantastic. Christian Bale gives us his best performance in the trilogy as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Tom Hardy plays Bane the films villain and has big shoes to fill after the late Heath Ledger's incredible Academy Award winning performance as The Joker! It turns out that Tom Hardy gave an excellent performance! Hardys performance is truly menacing not because of the way he talks and of how big he is but his facial expressions. He uses his eyes to express a lot of his feelings and it worked! If you asked me who would I rather be in a room with The Joker or Bane, I'd rather be with Joker because Bane scares the *beep* out of me and he can just snap my neck like the flip of a page! Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a cop named John Blake and he gives a great performace! Another Inception cast member in this film is Marion Cotilliard as Miranda Tate a Wayne Enterprise board member who developes a relationship with Bruce Wayne and she as well gives a great performance. But the true show stealer is Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwomen! She is sexy, funny, and bad ass! She perfectly fits the famous costume and she is the best Catwomen ever in my opinion! She is a very independent women and she does what she needs to do to survive. I loved her character! Of course Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman give absolutely stellar performances! Michael Caine's role is smaller in this film than the others but the scenes he is in are Oscar worthy! The film looks beautiful because of the fantastic cinematography of Wally Pfister. When you put Nolan in the director chair and Pfister with camera you know the movie is going to look beautiful and yes it is! This movie is the fastest 2 hours and 45 minute movie ever! Bravo to the films editor because you made a 165 minute movie feel like 90 minutes! It never drags and its pacing is perfect! The film is full of huge surprises that had me with my jaw dropping and some with me jumping in my seat out of excitment! Christopher Nolan has done it again giving us one of the best films I have ever seen! This movie is a masterpiece! The movie lived up to all the hype and then some! It is in my opinion The Dark Knight Trilogy the greatest film trilogy of all-time! Yes I think its better then Lord of the Rings and the original Star Wars trilogy! I love this movie so much! Avengers is my second most anticipated film of 2012! If you asked me a couple days before I saw what is gonna be better Dark Knight Rises or Avengers, I would say Dark Knight Rises. I have no idea how that movie will top The Avengers after seeing it. I adore this film. The acting is fantastic. No one gives a bad performance here. Normally when you have Robert Downey Jr. in your movie he steals the show right? Not in this one. Downey Jr. was excellent in this film but the one who takes the show stealer award is Bruce Banner/Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo. He has scenes where my audience was clapping, cheering, and laughing. I really liked Incredible Hulk, but I hated Ang Lee's Hulk. The Incredible Hulk got the Hulk right but it wasn't 100%. Ruffalo is the best hulk out there! Nortons Hulk was very serious and never jokes around. Ruffalo is able give the Hulk depth that Eric Bana and Ed Norton never reached! Tom Hiddlestons portrayal of Loki is excellent. He is probably the second best Superhero movie villain of all-time in my opinion! But the real star of this film is JOSS WHEDON! In Nolan We Tust..? Nonono it is now In Whedon We Trust. His direction is absolutely fantastic. His script also is stellar. The humor that is in the film is funnier than most great comedies of the last couple of years. Whedons script is able to blend in elements of drama and comedy that works. If Whedon somehow got an Oscar nom for Best Adapted Screenplay I would be the happiest kid on Earth. The last 45 minutes of this film is one continuous action scene. Remember the last hour of Transformers 3? Well in that the action was breathtaking, but you had no attachment to the characters, you didn't give two sh*ts about the story, the acting was awful, and even though you were watching cool action you didn't know what was going on! In The Avengers you get the complete opposite! You have attachment to the characters, you give two sh*ts about the story, the acting is excellent, and you know what is going on while watching some absolutely jaw-dropping action. You are on the edge of your seat the whole way through! There is nothing bad at all I can say about this movie! This is everything I want out of a movie! I am so happy to see that The Avengers actually was a good movie. And calling it a good movie completely undersells it, because for me at least, it had no flaws. Even a masterpiece has some flaws and sometimes they are very tiny tiny ones. But not this one.When I was rating this film I couldn't figure out even a nit-pick. That's why I would give it an 10/10. On my rating scale an 10 is a special thing. It means for me at least that it is a masterpiece. This movie for me though is perfect. Not one tiny thin wrong with it! This film has some of the best performances I have seen in a film all year. The performances are one of the key components to what made this film a masterpiece. Bradley Cooper gives the best performance of his career thus far as Pat a former patient of a mental hospital. He is very bi-polar and he gets ticked of very easily. He adds so much depth to the character and that is also thanks to the films writers and the director David O. Russell. Jennifer Lawrence gives her best performance of her career as well and this performance is just screaming OSCAR!! Her characters name is Tiffany and she also has some issues like Pat. They have terrific chemistry together, better than most couples in film I think that Cooper, DeNiro, and Lawrence all have high chances of getting nominated for these performances. You also have Chris Tucker playing Pat's friend from the institutuion Danny and he isn't a huge character in the film but he steals some of the scenes he is in. Jacki Weaver plays Pats mom Doleres who you can tell is very worn out by all this going on between her husband's obsession with football and his OCD, and her son Pat's Bi-Polar issues. She plays this character so well! The film is hysterical. The film manages to blend heavy drama with belly laughing funny humor. This is one of the funniest films I have seen all year. I'm so happy to say that DeNiro is fantastic in a film because we have not been able to say that in a long time! Something that really surprised me was how good David O' Russell filmed the dance scenes in this film. That sounds like a really wierd thing to say but I thought all the dancing stuff here was done very well. The film has terrific pacing. It is never slow and I enjoyed every minute of it! The script and all the dialogue are stellar and the writing gives so much dimension to all the characters in the film. That also helped by the incredible performances. The film is a character study of a bipolar man, a comedy, a romance, and a drama. It manages to make a terrific blend of all these things. This one of the best films you'll see all year! Quentin Tarrantino is one of my all-time favorite film directors. This is a guy who knows what he is doing! "Pulp Fiction" is #5 in my Top 10 Favorite Films of All-Time. "Reservoir Dogs" is also up there too. Naturally I was really excited for this film. I did not like it. I LOVED IT! This is one of the best movie going experiences of the year. The story centers around a slave named Django who is freed by a bounty hunter named Dr. Schultz. He free's him so Django can help him find the Brittle Brothers. If Django helps Schultz, Schultz will help find Django's wife who was taken from him. Jamie Foxx might have just given his best performance yet! He is incredible as the title character Django! Christoph Waltz plays Dr. Schultz and he is as always just great! The true highlight of this movie is Leonardo DiCaprio is the evil Plantation/Slave Owner Calvin Candie. This man is evil. Leonardo DiCaprio might finally have this Oscar! Leo's performance in this might be the best performance of 2012 besides Daniel Day Lewis in "Lincoln". ” - spikee5697

Wow. I love this film! I'll say it straight up, this is the best James Bond film I have seen! This time we have Sam Mendes directing. He directed one of my all-time favorite films "American Beauty". When I heard he was directing I was very happy with the choice but had my doubts! I knew he could direct all the actors great but I didn't know if he would be able to pull of the action. I am so happy to say he pulled it off! A problem with the last James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" was that it felt like two completely different films like one was a straight up action flick and the other was this drama. Quantum had a lot to live up to after its predecessor "Casino Royal"(a film I love). It also felt like they just didn't know what to do next! "Skyfall" doesn't suffer with that problem at all. Daniel Craig returns as Bond and gives his best Bond performance yet! In this one Bond is on a mission in which another agent accidentally shoots him off a train and he falls a couple hundred feet into water to what was thought to be his death. It turns out Bond is alive and returns to duty when I finds out that MI6 is in trouble and he needs to stop this computer hacker villain who has released the names of all the agents in MI6...on YOU TUBE!! Even though Bond is alive he has lost it. He isn't the same Bond anymore. He isn't as great as he was before his supposed death. Craig truly nails the role once again and gave a fantastic performance! The films villain is played by Javier Bardem, his name is Silva and he is one of the best Bond villains of all-time. He is a former MI6 agent who was let go and is coming back for revenge on M. He is a really scary guy, the way he acts is just creepy. He is a little feminine and I think he might of been gay, they imply it. He also is on par with Bond when it comes to skill. Normally in a Bond film you have a hot young beautiful Bond girl. In "Casino Royal" we had Eva Green as Vesper, and in "Quantum of Solace" we had Olga Kurylenko as Camille. Now they are advertising Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe as the films Bond girls. They kind of are for a short time but the real Bond girl here is M played by Judi Dench. Bond is protecting her and she is a huge part of this film. She as always was great. Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe were also very good. The film has some beautiful cinematography and all the action scenes were filmed beautifully. This film lived to all the hype, I love this movie! Bond is back! ” - spikee5697

Wow. Ben Affleck has seriously proven himself! He is hands down one of the best directors working today. His last film "The Town" in my opinion is a incredible film. I think that this film might be better than that. I can now forgive Ben Affleck for every poor career decision he has ever made including going out with J-Lo. This is one hell of a film! The film is based off a true story and to even think that something as crazy as this happened interests me so much! The movie gets you right from the start! The acting by everyone is just fantastic! No one gives a bad performance in this film! Ben Affleck knocks it out of the park, Bryan Cranston as usual just crushes it, John Goodman is great, and Alan Arkin had me laughing really hard at some points of the film. The writing is incredible. The script is great. It has great dialogue and the story never goes off the rails. The score of the film is great, but the soundtrack is awesome! It includes many songs from that era of time and they really lend to putting us in the era the film is in and helps set the tone of the film very well. The film is very intense! There are so many nail biting and edge of your seat moments throughout this film especially in the last 20 minutes! I did have one issue of with the film though. The movie starts off face paced in the beginning, in the middle it becomes slow, and the end becomes fast again. The middle wasn't bad but there was a point where for a good 10 minutes I was like 'come on speed it up' and then it takes off again. Also the climax of the film makes up for that because it is crazy! This is an incredible film! Congrats Affleck you really have found your forte! See this film soon! ” - spikee5697

If you see this movie and don't at least even get the chills when Anne Hathaway sings "I Dreamed A Dream" I don't know what is up with you! Anne Hathaway shaved her head for this role give her the damn Oscar. She is in this movie for about 20 minutes and she gives this incredible and truly masterful performance as Fantine! Hugh Jackman plays the films main character Jean Valjean and Russell Crowe plays Inspector Javert who is going after throughout the film because Jean broke parol. I was very surprised by Amanda Seyfried as Cosette. She isn't a huge character in the film but for what she is in she is pretty great. She's given good performances before but she's never given a performance that is memorable besides her character in "Mean Girls" because is just plain old stupid. Helena Bonham Carter and Sasha Baron Cohen play Madame Thénardier and Thénardier. They are so great. They play truly terrible people and their song "Master of the House" is one of the highlights of the movie. Samantha Banks plays Eponié and you can tell this girl could be a huge actress in the future because she is excellent. She is can sing her ass off and that is one of the many reasons why singing live on set is the best thing for movie musicals. This film is the first movie musical to ever have all the musical numbers done live on set and not in a studio. No one is lip-syncing, its all real. It really helps get more emotion out of the characters when they are singing especially when Anne Hathaway is singing "I Dreamed A Dream", you can feel her pain! Tom Hooper directs the film so well and makes a way better film than his last film "The Kings Speech" which if you haven't seen is really worth checking out because it is great. The cinematography here is incredible and really helps capture the scope of the film and shows us how epic this tale really is, because it is a epic film. The battle scenes are directed very well and that is surprise because Tom Hooper is helming it and his last movie "The Kings Speech" is really a talking movie. The songs in this film are fan-freaking-tastic. They are so catchy and just so God damn good. The only problem I had was that the film is a long movie and you really feel the 2 hours and 38 minutes of this film. While it is really enjoyable it does feel very long and you start to feel the length in the last 15-20 minutes. What was going on in the film was still great but it just felt long. "Les Misérables" is one incredible film that everyone needs to go check out. The songs are catchy, the story is great, and the acting is stellar! ” - spikee5697

Wes Anderson is the king of the hipsters. They eat his stuff up. I'm not a hipster, but I will say I am a Wes Anderson fan. "The Royal Tenebaums" is one of my favorite films ever, and I think it's Wes Anderson's best movie. But now I have to say this is my new favorite Wes Anderson movie is now "Moonrise Kingdom". The story is simple; two kids fall in love, they run away together, and the police, parents, and scout leader go looking for them. I loved this film from start to finish. There is not one single bad performance here. Everyone brings there A+ Game here. I was worried about the kids in the film being bad but I was completely wrong the kids in the film were fantastic. They're are able to have a relationship that is 100% believable! These kids had amazing chemistry together! Edward and Bella couldn't manage to develop chemistry for 4 movies and these 2 kids manage to develop amazing chemistry in under 5 minutes. This is also due to the fantastic script written by Wes Anderson. The dialogue in this film is fantastic and definitely as of right now a front-runner for Best Original Screenplay. Wes Anderson has a very distinctive visual style to all of his films. He always has a very beautiful color palate and this film looks absolutely gorgeous. Thats one of the many reasons why this film is a very memorable film. The film is perfectly paced. The movie is friggen hysterical. Wes Anderson perfectly blends comedy with drama. You also have a scene where they pay homage to my favorite film of all-time "The Shawshank Redemption". This is movie is a masterpiece. Twenty years from now I'll say "Moonrise Kingdom" was that great romantic comedy! I love this movie so much! It has classic written all over it! ” - spikee5697

Who would of thought a raunchy comedy directed by the directing duo who directed Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs(A film that I really enjoyed) and written by Jonah Hill and the writer of Project X, which had some terrible dialogue would be this funny? Also it is a "comedy" the original TV Series of 21 Jump Street was a crime drama not a raunchy comedy. So is the film version of 21 Jump Street a success or a humungous failure? I am happy to say that it is a success, a humungous success in my opinion. This film is one of the funniest films I've seen in the past 2 years since The Hangover(But not as good as the classic that is The Hangover). This is the first and hopefully not the last time where I can say Channing Tatum was great! He is hilarious! Jonah Hill is also really great but is over-shined by Tatum because of how surprising he is! Rob Riggle who I thought last week was the worst part of The Lorax was actually one of the best parts of 21 Jump Street. All the dialogue is great and seems real. Everyone is saying James Franco's younger brother is the weakest part of the film but for me he was really funny and good. But the one thing that made it go down from a straight up 10/10 was towards the middle of the film a emotional plot point comes to terms, and there is a huge emotional arc that could of happened but for some reason it seems like it's gonna happen but then it pretty much disregards that whole plot point and moves on and everything is better. It was like nothing ever happened. The part of the film feels out of place. It felt like they fell into the comedy cliche. Then the climax happens. The climax of the film is 100%. There are tons of surprises throughout the film. The cameo in the last 25 minutes of the film is pure gold. It is so funny and surprising. The film is a film I will be quoting in years to come. I cannot wait till this film comes out on Blu-Ray cause I will be watching this film like crazy. I loved it. ” - spikee5697

I was always excited about Looper since the first trailer! The concept always intrigued me! I am very happy to say that this film lived up to all the hype I had for it! This is one hell of a film! The film centers around Joe played Joseph Gordon-Levitt and he is a Looper. In this future they invent time travel and it is very illegal. But the mob uses it to send targets back to the past to be killed by a Looper who waits for them to spawn in this certain place. When a looper kills there future self that is called closing the loop and that happens to every Looper so there is no evidence that the mob never worked with them and the looper can live there life until they die that same way. One day Joe is waiting for his target and the man who appears is his older self and he is played by Bruce Willis. He gets away, and the mob in the present day is after present day Joe and future Joe. Thats the movies premise! The acting in the film is excellent! Gordon-Levitt really pulls off playing a young Bruce Willis. I have to really compliment the make up artist on this film who did the make up for JGL. When you see Gordon-Levitt and Willis next to each other they do kind of look like each other. Emily Blunt is also really good in the film! The film really is excellent at just explaining things. All the things you learn about being a looper are put into the film very well like someone will be having a conversation with someone or JGL will narrate and explain something. I know a lot of movies do that but it never took me out of the movie like that sort of thing does in some movies! I felt fully immersed into this world throughout the whole film. My only gripes with the movie are they try at points for JGL and Emily Blunt to have romantic chemistry and it just isn't as there as it should be. Also the movie is slow and there was a point of the movie where I thought it should've started to speed up a bit. Those are just minors flaws to this incredible film! This is one of the most original movies I have ever seen! The concept for this film is something no one has seen before. The way the writers Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard play around with these horror clichés and turn them over there heads. This movie had a really bad marketing campaign and that I think I truly has effected its box office because it just looks like its a generic horror movie. But this film is not generic! This film is really funny. 2012 is the year where I realized that Joss Whedon can take serious situations and apply hilarious humour to them! Between this and Avengers I have realized he can write what ever he wants. But I can't just praise Joss Whedon because you also have to thank the director of the film Drew Goddard! His direction is great and he really sucks you into this world. There are so many twist and turns that you will not be able to know what happens next! This is a film where you should absolutely stay away from every trailer and synopsis just go in without knowing sh*t and you'll be as surprised as I am! The only thing I had a problem with in this film is in the beginning there is some bad dialogue and some the characters come off unlikable. The dialogue gets a lot better once they leave there hometown. The characters who came off unlikable in the beginning become likable (like I said with the dialogue) when they leave there hometown! It just seemed like that tiny part of the movie was written by someone else but I forgot about after that part was over when they go on the road trip to the cabin in the woods! This film is really scary, really funny, and really fun! This is one of the best horror films I have seen in years! This is gonna be a movie people talk about in years to come because of the pure brilliance of it! See it! See it! SEE IT! ” - spikee5697

For a movie that looks so simple it is has so much more of a deeper meaning! This film is a beautiful film. Not just visually, but in a storytelling sense. The story is pretty simple, an indian boy and his family are moving to Canada, they take a ship to Canada and during a storm the ship sinks and our main character Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with a tiger! Suraj Sharma plays Pi and he gives a great performance. The film is pretty much a one man show after the first 40 minutes. It reminded me a lot like "127 Hours". I say that because "127 Hours" was a director actor film. In that it was Danny Boyle and James Franco one on one. It is just like that here. It is Ang Lee and Suraj Sharma in this. Ang Lee's direction in this film is fantastic! He makes us feel like we are on this journey with Pi by showing us beautiful shots! You also gotta give a hand to the films cinematographer. The film is pretty powerful and has so much heart to it! The 3D in this film is a necessity if you are going to see this film in the theatre(which you should). It is one of the best 3D films I have ever seen. It is on par with Avatar's 3D! I did have issues with the film like there is this guy who is writing a story and he is interviewing the older Pi and that is how the story is told but the the guy interviewing Pi is awful! All his lines of dialogue suck and he all around sucked. There also are some dialogue issues in the beginning but they are fixed shortly after. The cgi animals look great. The relationship between Pi and the tiger Richard Parker is so great and really is one of the biggest components to the film and one of my favorite things about the film! There relationship and its growth throughout the film is incredible! Also as time goes by in the film they do a great job of making you feel the length of time Pi has been out on sea on. This film is the hidden gem of 2012. This movie came out and just went under the radar. This movie really has to get noticed by more people because it is so good. This is based off the book which has the same title of the film. The film was written and directed by the author of the book Stephen Chbosky. For a directorial debut, this man does one hell of a job! He really manages to get some great performances out of his actors! He also makes you care so much about all the characters. The film visits some dark places and the transitions from lightness to darkness is done very well. It feels very natural. The main character is Charlie played by Logan Lerman and he is a freshman in High School. He has no friends but he meets 2 seniors named Sam and Patrick who become friends with him. The story takes off from there. I read the book for summer reading and it was the first time I ever really enjoyed a summer reading book. I thought the book was great. The movie is better! But there are things that are done in the book better and that was one my issues with the film. The book is able to show you the struggle school was for Charlie and how his mind worked. In the book he is more socially awkward and the first couple weeks of school are a lot longer in the book and I learned a lot more about his character and the other characters that way. When I watched the movie it did bother me a bit. I also kept getting annoyed when the generic school bullies would say things to Charlie. They were the most generic and cliche things you can possibly have for school bullies. But the movie is a lot better than the book. The performances are fantastic. Logan Lerman shocked me! I wasn't expecting much from him but a lot of dark things happen to the character in the film and he is able to play the character so well. Emma Watson is great as Sam and is not your generic hot girl that the nerdy kid falls in love with! She is a character with lots of depth to her. But the best performance of the film is Ezra Miller as Patrick or "Nothing". He is just like I imagined the character to be in the book. You also have Paul Rudd, Dylan McDermott , and some other actors and actress in the film who have little screen time but are also very good. The soundtrack to the film is excellent and really helps capture the relationship between these friends! There is so much good I can say about this film! This is a must see! Please see this film! This movie is hysterical. This movie is centers around a stolen dog and mobsters going after the kidnappers, plain and simple. Most higher concept comedies out there aren't as funny as something as simple as this and that is one of the things I loved about this film. So one of the things that makes this movie great is the script. The dialogue is great and it also has some funny awesome memorable characters. The situations the characters get into are just priceless! The acting is also great! Collin Farrel is actually doing his regular irish accent for once. He is a great leading man and really gives a great performance as this writer with writers block who gets wrapped into this insane situation. Woody Harrelson is also just amazing in this movie! He is pretty evil at points and had me laughing so hard and some other points. Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walking play the two dognappers. Sam Rockwell is best friends with Collin Farrell's character and thats how he gets wrapped into this whole thing! Sam Rockwell has some of the best lines of the movie. No one over shines anyone in the film, everyone is equal but everyone is amazing! There are many moments in this film where I was really surprised and shocked at what was happening, and that was awesome! But there was a problem I had with it. In the third act of the film, there is a plot point thrown into the film towards the middle of the third act that really did not work for me. And the stuff that it caused really just did not make any sense. It really bothered me. This also caused some of the jokes to be weak in that section. But this part only last for like 15 minutes. After that 15 minutes it becomes extremely funny again and back to normal! Overall, this film is so funny and something that is really memorable! I was not Hungry during The Hunger Games... I'm sorry for that terrible joke. I am not kidding about this but I think that this franchise could become the next Harry Potter. I mean this was way better than Socerers Stone and Chamber of Secrets. I love this film! Gary Ross at first to me was a odd choice to direct this film even though I think he is a really good director I thought his films he had directed in the past didn't fit with this genre! I like directors who are able to direct conpletely different genres on each film. Gary Ross is able to do that. So why do I love this movie? The acting is incredible. If coarse Jennifer Lawrence steals the show, but there are other actors like Josh Hutcherson who also shine. Woody Harlson also steals the show as Haymiych the former Hunger Games winner who is a alchaholic and Katnis and Peta's mentor. Cato who is played by Alexander Ludwig and is one of the best villians of the last 10 years. Elizabeth Banks plays the wacky and eccentric Effe Trinkett and is one of the best people in the film as she is just so funny and wacky! I don't care if she is looking crazy in this film but I think Effe Trinkett is really hot! The dialogue is great. This is a film that should be seen in IMAX because for me it fealt like I was in the Hunger Games with them. People are complaining about the shakey cam, it didn't bother me. At first. It gets to the point were it started to bother me as it started to go on. I know they couldn't show serious/brutal child killing in PG-13, but they could've benifited way better if it was rated R. I kniw they would not have made as much money if jt was R but it would've been way better. But what did bother me a lot was the amount of times things weren't explained. Things happen without detailed explainations and I found myself frequently asking my friend next to me who read the book what some stuff meant. Critics have been calling this a new Sci-Fi classic. It would've been, but the amount of times I was confused soiled that on me. Overall The Hunger Games is amazing! This was pretty surprising. This is really one of the hidden gems of 2012 so far! Steve Carrell gives one of his best performances here as our main character Dodge, whose wife has left him due to the news that the world will be ending in a couple weeks. He meets Penny played by the hot as hell Keira Knightlley and they go on a journey to find Dodge's wife and then get Penny to her family in the U.K.! So the movie is pretty much a dramedy. But that the first 45 minutes to hour it has some funny comedic moments as well as some touches of drama. But the last half hour is a drama and it really shows. It is very serious and there isn't really any humor there! I'm not saying that was bad but when it goes from dramedy that was pretty funny to a serious drama it feels a little jarring. It felt weird for the first couple minutes. There are also some scenes that go on a little too long. The movie is a slow paced film and during those scenes you feel it moving very slow! That is only maybe 3 or 4 scenes. But I wanna stop being a downer and tell you what I liked about this film! The chemistry between Steve Carrell and Keira Knightley have just fantastic chemistry from the start! It is great to see there relationship grow as the film goes on! The cast of characters they meet along their journey are great. The performances here by everyone are great. You also have Martin Sheen show up at the end and he is great. You also have Rob Corddry and Patton Oswald appear in the beginning of the movie and they both have some laugh out loud moments! Especially Rob Corddry, as always! The movie also gets a high score of a 9 because of just how beautiful this movie is! By the end you truly feel for these characters and I'm not gonna lie I got a little choked up. Liam Neeson vs. Mother Nature! This movie kicks a**! It is suspenseful, dramatic, and action-packed! Liam Neeson still shines and is still one of the greatest actors of all-time! This director directed "The A-Team" which is a pretty bad movie and he somehow made an amazing one with this film! So they are promoting this movie pretty much as Liam Neeson vs. Wolves, this is not that movie! This movie is more about Liam Neeson and a group of people surviving in the brutal wilderness! The film has you at the edge of your seat the whole way through and you have no idea where it is going to go in the end! My only problem with this movie is that some of the characters in the film aren't interesting and when something happens to them you don't care! The other issue is how for a good 5 minutes it starts to drag and you become uninterested until sh*t goes down! Other than that the rest of the movie is awesome. The acting is great! The score is excellent! The action sequences are jaw-dropping. This movie is a great time and shows you that Liam Neeson is still a B.A.(Bad-Ass)!! ” - spikee5697

5 years after the last Spider-Man film now we have the new reboot. Since the announcement of this film I have been excited for this film. People had mixed feelings and skepticism about Marc Webb being the director and I won't lie I had some doubts. (500) Days of Summer is one of my favorite films of all-time and Marc Webb directed it. So right away I knew he would probably nail the romantic angle of the film but I didn't know how he would go from a low-budget independent romantic comedy to a high-budget studio action superhero film. I'm happy to say Marc Webb nailed it! Andrew Garfield is one my favorite young actors working right now. He defiantly got snubbed for an Oscar back in 2010 for The Social Network and when I heard he was Peter Parker I was psyched and I'm happy to say he was excellent as Peter Parker. I'm a huge fan of Tobey Maguire's performance as Peter Parker in the original trilogy and I have to say I think Andrew Garfield was better! He is cracking jokes as Spider-Man left and right and he plays a really believable modern day nerd. He isn't talking about science all day; he keeps to himself, he is awkward around girls, he's on the computer a lot, ect. When he becomes Spider-Man you believe he is him. Emma Stone is also great as Gwen Stacy, Peter Parkers love interest. The cast is a great cast. The action is perfectly directed by Marc Webb. The story does go over many beats from the first Spider-Man film but it does it in a better way sometimes. The chemistry of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is perfect. You absolutely believe they have feelings for each other and actually are dating each other in real life now. The thing that film also captures is the awkwardness of being a teenager and being in love! The film uses 3D excellently. But there is some issues with the film. I felt like they shoehorned the Lizard as the films villain. I liked Rhys Ifans as Curt Conners but I did not like his Lizard. They try to make you feel bad for Conners when he is the Lizard but you totally forget Conners is the Lizard and he becomes this stupid generic villain and CGI for this character doesn't help at all. Everything else looks great but Lizard looks bad. The movie is very slow. There are scenes here that shouldn't be there and some scenes go on to long. I am happy to say The Amazing Spider-Man which was one of my most anticipated films of 2012 turned out not to disappoint and is a lot of fun. The Hobbit is one of my most anticipated films of 2012! I was always really excited to see it! I love the Peter Jackson "Lord of the Rings" trilogy! I consider that trilogy to be one of the best movie trilogies of all-time, probably in my top 3 favorite trilogies(the other 2 being "The Dark Knight Trilogy" and the original "Star Wars" trilogy). This film has been trying to be made for years now. There was issues getting it filmed due to MGM going into bankruptcy. This movie, "Skyfall", and "The Cabin in the Woods" were affected by the bankruptcy and they all came out this year and they were all great! So going into this movie there was some huge hype. Reactions from early screenings were mixed. Some people loved it, others hated it. "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" was great. Lets just get out the positives first. The acting is incredible. Martin Freeman kills it as the young Bilbo Baggins! Ian McKellen of course nails the role of Gandalf the Grey and he hasn't stopped nailing it since 2003! The film is the prequel to the Lord of the Rings. Gandalf comes to Biblo and is like listen come on an adventure with me and these 13 dwarves to take back their gold and city from the evil dragon Smaug! Bilbo agrees to this offer and our story begins. The dwarves are led by Thorin played by Richard Armitage and he is pretty much our Aragorn for this trilogy. He is great! This film was originally only supposed to be 2 movies. Back in June Peter Jackson said the film would be split up into 3 movies instead. Here's the issue with that. There are a lot of scenes that felt like they shouldn't have been in the movie. This especially happens in the first 90 minutes. Since they are making these 3 movies they are taking as much footage as they can possibly get so they can make these movies 3 movies and make them 3 hours. They could've cut out some scenes and it would've made it shorter and more enjoyable. I think we saw the Extended Cut of the film! Peter Jackson went into the appendices of Tolkeins work. That wizard Radagast the Brown is gaining a ton of hate from critics and fans. Some people even pulling the "jar jar card" on him. Do I agree? Yes a little bit. He isn't as bad as some made him out to be but he still was bad. The film's CGI at points can be perfect and at others kind of mediocre. The film does look beautiful. The cinematography here is incredible! Some of the shots are breathtaking! The score is excellent. Howard Shore does such a good job making a new score for this film and has some great songs in it! The song the dwarves sing is great! The Hobbit has some issues but honestly the last 90 minutes is spectacular! It is everything you want from a Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings film! The riddle scene with Gollum and Bilbo is one of the best scenes in any film this year. I could've sat there for another 2 hours just watching them interact with each other. This film has been being acclaimed by all the major critics out there! People are saying it is like something they have never seen before! This is a great movie lets just put that out there! What kind of hurt it for me was that it was hailed as this modern masterpiece but it just wasn't that it was just great for me. The film is a really original film. It is such a breathe of fresh air because it is a movie that doesn't follow cleche's and really has deeper meaning to it. The acting here is superb. The little girl who plays our main character Hushpuppy is fantastic! For a six year old little girl she manages to have the audience really care for her and she a really interesting character! This actress has never acted before and I can tell that this little girl has a very bright future ahead of her in the acting business. This is the first feature film pretty much any of these actors have ever been in. They are unknowns and that helps the movie be more believable. One thing that the director trys to do to make everything more believable is adding shakey cam to about 95% of the movie. It didn't work for me! If you did not know I hate shakey cam. I can see why they chose to use shakey cam in this movie but it got really annoying! That really took points off. The story of the film is excellent. The dialogue is never bad or cheesy. The script is great. At times the film has its funny moments and at others it has its heartbreaking moments. The end of the movie pulls at your heartstrings a lot. The film is always interesting with the ocassion of a slow 5 minutes. I stringly suggest this film! It really shows that you can make a great movie with really small budget! ” - spikee5697

This is a hysterical movie. Seth McFarlane is a comedic genius. This man can write comedy. This movie has an all star cast and everyone here does great. Great performances all around from everyone. Mark Wallberg has terrific chemistry with the teddy bear Ted. Mila Kunis plays the role of Wallberg's girlfriend who puts up with Ted and Wallbergs characters and she is annoyed with them at points and normally this type of character would come off as annoying to me and you actually feel for Mila Kunis but you also love watching Ted and Wallberg have a ton of fun. There is a ton of jokes where I was laughing out loud and at one point crying of laughter. There are jokes that fall flat sometimes and there were some jokes where they would run it to the ground. But 80% of the jokes are hysterical. There also is a point in the film where they start using the typical comedy cliche's and then they tie up a story line stated in the beginning of the film and I could have dealt without that story line not even being mentioned because it slowed the movie down. There also is a ton of film references in this film especially many references to Flash Gordon that are hysterical. Also Seth McFarlane even manages to poke fun of Adam Sandler and I love that. You can tell that this is written and directed by the creator of Family Guy cause it feels like a live action Family Guy. They do the cut away jokes and absurd humor. That is not a bad thing at all cause I love the Family Guy episode formula and in this film it defiantly works. Ted is a laugh out loud funny as hell movie that has moments where you'll be crying of laughter. This is one great time at the movies but just be aware of the issues it has. This is the best video game movie of all-time. Thats not hard to do but this one hell of a movie! This was such a fun good time! I am a huge gamer! I love video games! I love video games about the same amount I love movies! When you mix video games and movies together and it is actually good you make me a happy boy. The amount of game references in "Wreck-It Ralph" is incredible! It is full of them! Like being able to see Bowser and Zangief on the same screen together is like a nerds dream! Ralph is the films main character and he is a villain who wants to be good it's as simple as that! The voice cast in the film is fantastic! You've got John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Alan Tudyk, Jane Lynch, and Jack McBryer! They all bring there A game to the table. The film looks absolutely beautiful. It's Disney what dis you expect? They don't skimp on anything especially making their movies look good! The dialogue is really great as well! The characters are all so lovable and memorable! The one issue I had with this film though was that there is a game Ralph goes into called "Sugar Rush" and when that happens it becomes a movie about candy and a bunch of references to candy and this goes on for awhile! There was a point where I got bored for like 5 or 10 minutes. But then the fillm hits its climax which is in Sugar Rush and it becomes awesome again! A lot of people really dislike this film! I heard mixed things going in. Me being a big Apatow fan was getting pretty worried about how this was gonna turn out. I have to say I thought was very funny! Lets just get my problem with the film out of the right away. This film is very slow. It takes it time. This film shouldn't have been this long. I'm sorry but a comedy should not be 2 hours and 15 minutes. Also the film takes about 10 or 15 minutes to really get you in. The acting in this film is great. Everyone here is great. Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann play their characters from "Knocked Up" Pete and Debbie. Seth Rogan and Katherine Heigl make no appearance in the film which is kind of disappointing but if you play close attention you can see pictures of them in Pete and Debbie's house or there's a scene where you see Pete is playing Scrabble with Ben on his iPad and those type of references are really cool. They are very subtle ones. The film is never not funny. All the humor is great! Megan Fox gave the best performance of her career in this. Megan Fox isn't a good actress but under the direction of someone like Judd Apatow he manages to get a good performance out of her. Also a lot of the Judd Apatow regulars like Jason Segal and others pop up in this. As usual the supporting cast is great. There are a ton of funny cameos in the film. Melissa McCarthy's scene in the film is hysterical. In the credits they show you all the different takes where she is just improving the scene and it is so funny. The scene is pure comedy gold! The drama in the film is handled very well. It is blended very smoothly with the comedy and the transitions from comedy to drama do not feel jarring or anything like that. This is one of the scariest films I have seen in years. Sinister was a film I was always excited about. The reason why is because it was written by C. Robert Cargill who is Carlyle on Spill and Massawyrm on Ain't It Cool News. When I heard that he got his big break I was really excited. So was the movie any good? Yes it was amazing! What the film really nails is that it has a really likable and three dimensional protagonist. Most horror movies in recent memory have no characters to latch onto. The main character is Ellis Oswaldt played by Ethan Hawke. He is a down on his luck writer whose 15 minutes of fame are in the past and he is trying to become big again. He decides to move him and his family to a house near a crime scene to inspire his writing for his next novel. Some crazy *beep* ensues. This film is truly really scary. It has some really disturbing moments throughout it. You know the movie is scary when I am scared in my house after seeing it! I had some trouble sleeping after this movie. The films scary monster killer thing is something that I will remember because this thing was scary! The opening shot of this film is one of the best I've seen all year and is something I will remember. The director is Scott Derickson and he really does a great job with his direction. The film also works well as a mystery film and you are with this mystery that Ethan Hawke is trying to figure out! The film has terrific pacing and when I found out it was 1 hour and 50 minutes I was actually really surprised cause it felt like it was only an hour and a half tops. The issues I had with this film was that there are a couple of cheap jump scares in it. Also Ethan Hawke's wife in the film is bad and same goes for his son who I thought was a girl at first! This is a superhero movie we have never seen before! This is a truly original superhero movie. This is also probably the best found footage movie we have at the moment. The story here is pretty simple; three kids get super powers, they have a good time with them, they learn how to use them, one of the kids goes bad. All the actors and actresses in this film are all unknowns (At least to me they are). The performance are all great in this film! The real standout here is Dane DeHaan as the character Andrew. Andrew is a truly disturbed teenager who gets bullied at school and gets beaten by his father. He is a social outcast. You truly feel sympathetic for him throughout the film and once he gets the powers in my head I was like this isn't gonna be good when he snaps one day and when he snaps...oh boy! The film also has a very clever way of recording all the stuff that makes up the movie. It feels like someone in this films universe compiled all the footage they could to make this film and I love that about this film! The way they record footage is awesome. At first Andrew is recording by hand and then he learns how to make the camera float and fly around him. Then other characters have cameras and record stuff. Most found footage movies they totally blow off telling you about other cameras but this one makes sure you know who is filming. The movie is perfectly paced and never over stays its welcome. The only problems I had with the film was I felt they tried to shoe horn in a relationship between Andrew's cousin Matt and a girl and there are some lines of dialogue that are bad! But those are minor issues. I love this movie so much! Tim Burton going back to his roots and doing some good ole' stop motion animation. Stop motion animation is my favorite type of animation for film just because the pure bravery of the film makers to make a hour and a half film with clay figures and one bad move can screw up a whole entire scene! Tim Burton got big not just from his 1989 adaptation of Batman, but he was also noticed by many because of the film he produced and wrote called "The Nightmare Before Christmas". That film is one of my favorite animated films ever! So how is Frankenweenie? It is actually really great! This film was so much fun! This is Tim Burton's second film this year, his last film being "Dark Shadows", which was a adaptation of a TV Show from the 1960's. This is his first original movie in years. You could make the argument that it is a adaptation of his 1984 short film of the same name, but it is his own idea so I'll call it original. The film is all in black and white! This really helped set the tone of the film and it made it feel like a classic hollywood monster movie. The animation is stunning and just really beautiful! The voice acting is stellar! You get a lot of Tim Burton alum in this film like Winona Ryder and Martin Landau, but I am shocked that Johnny Depp was nowhere to be scene in this film! Like seriously did they have a falling out or something because this Burtons first movie in years without his boy Johnny Depp. The score by Danny Elfman as always is great! His score reminded me a lot of those classic monster movie scores from classic hollywood. The characters are very likable. When the film hits its climax, they pay so much homage to those classic hollywood monsters and it the movie even more fun! The movie also is pretty funny and has heart! Martin Landau gives a fantastic performance as the Science teacher named Mr. Rzykruski. There are issues though. Even though you like the main character Victor, there are parts of the film where they focus scenes on the kids in the neighborhood and you kind of forget about Victor. It just felt like the writers put more focus on their side characters, then their main character. I thought they under used Winona Ryder's character Elsa Van Helsing. I thought they could've of used her character a lot more because she was very interesting but she isn't in the movie that much. Also there are some dialogue issues here and there. This isn't a theatrical release, this is direct to dvd. But it is a quality film so I count it as a film of 2012! It is one of the best animated films I have seen this year! So this film is the first part of the adaptation of the critically acclaimed "The Dark Knight Returns" comic book series. It is considered by most one of the greatest comic books of all-time. At its time it was the darkest we had ever scene Batman! This movie is pretty loyal to its source material. It is very dark and very gritty! Just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean its for kids, cause it's not! I never realized how much Christopher Nolan drew from "The Dark Knight Returns" in his epic "The Dark Knight Rises". The voice cast is great for the most part all the voices for Bruce Wayne/Batman, Alfred, Harvey Dent, Commissioner Gordon, and others are top notch! But you have some voices that aren't good like the voices of Carrie Kelley/Robin, the Mutant Leader, and some of the extra characters like the ones that serve no purpose. Carrie Kelley's voice comes off kind of annoying and the character itself is just kind of annoying. There is some issues with the dialogue in this film like sometimes you get some really cheesy lines. They take a lot the dialogue from the comic and it really shows. Comic dialogue doesn't always translate well into film dialogue and that happened here. But thats minor because this was great! The animation is beautiful and I'm happy it wasn't done in CG animation. The movie is perfectly paced and is fun to watch! The film runs at about 75 minutes and I think that was very appropriate time due to this being this first part to an overall story arc. It's not like it feels like the film isn't complete when it ends they find a way to make it feel like everything is alright now. It feels like a standalone movie. You got actors here that are on the rise like Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, and Dane Dehann. You also get other great actors like Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce! You also get Shia LeBeauf. Now I like Shia LeBeauf he isn't a terrible actor, he has given so good performances before. Shia has charisma, but he also has given some really goofy performances like in the Michael Bay Transformers trilogy! no no NO NO NO NO NOOOOOO! All the actors I mentioned before Shia gave great performances! Guy Pearce is a scene stealer in this film and gives one of the best performances I have seen all year! He is menacing and just an awesome villain. You can tell he had fun time with it! Tom Hardy is also great in it! He takes in a mumbly voice but it works for the character. Jessica Chastain gives a great performance as well as the waitress at the brothers bar and she is very well written and has lots of depth to her. Gary Oldman has small part in the film but for the amount of screen time he had he was great! Dane Dehann keeps on proving to me how great of an actor he really is! On the other hand Shia LeBeauf is definitely the weakest link in the cast. He just doesn't fit here. His accent is very good in the film, he can come off a bit annoying at points, and you just don't care about him. The main problem here is Shia is a large part of the movie. Is pretty much the main character. What really saves the movie is its supporting cast because they really carry the movie and make it worth seeing because it is a really great film! Boy, was this funny! As offensive as it is at points, I was laughing my ass off. Sasha Baron Cohen is one of the funniest people living. He is a fearless man. This is a different turn in his career. He is known to make mockumentary style films where he goes around and pretty much screws with clueless people. This is maybe the third time I have seen him in a scripted film("Talladega Nights" and "Hugo"[My Favorite Film of 2011]). So I was a little curious on how this was gonna turn out. Thankfully it was hysterical. Cohen is hysterical in the role of General Admiral Allidem the dictator of a fake country in Africa Wadiya. He absolutely as always stole the show! The film dares to joke about subject matters that no one would ever attempt to joke about. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it fell on its face. The reason I gave this movie a high rating was that Baron Cohen's performance. Every line of dialogue he has is hilarious. You can tell that the writers truly focused on General Admiral Allidem character and less on the supporting roles. One of the major problems was Anna Farris' performance. Her character is very under-written and she just doesn't fit her role. Even though Baron Cohen makes some hilarious jokes about her that had me laughing my ass off, she was probably the weakest link of the film. The editing at points is terrible. It seemed like they didn't know how to end jokes and some scenes would go on and just fell weird or awkward. But that was only a tiny portion of the film. Also there is 2 running gags that start to become unfunny after the 2nd time they do them. But overall I loved The Dictator. It is definitely better than "Brüno" and "The Ali G Movie", but it does not come any where close to touching that comedic gold that is "Borat". ” - spikee5697

I am a huge fan of the original American Pie Trilogy! The direct-to-DVD ones....not so much. When I heard news about an actual theatrical release sequel with all the old cast returning I was psyched. So how did it turn out? I am proud to say that American Reunion lived up to the hype. This film is hysterical! Stifler steals the show as always, only up until Eugene Levy shows up again. When Jim's Dad gets drunk at Stifler's party, it is priceless. The throwbacks to the original films are great. All the characters are back. John Cho who is one of the M.I.L.F. Guys is back too and this time gets a lot more screen time than in the other films. You finally find out Jim's Dad's name too. They also manage to give you a really good coming of age story mixed in with all this raunchiness. A lot of the characters come to realize(especially the Stifmiester) that life is different after high school. Things change; some for the better and some for the worst. Sadly there is some bad things to the movie like the performance delivered by Chris Klein as Oz. Theres a part in the beginning of the film where he says to Jim, I'm sorry I couldn't go to your wedding. I was like thanks for not coming the film didn't need you last time cause your a terrible actor and not funny. He cannot act for his life this kid and he is not funny. The other problem I had was the minor role they give Finch in this film. He shows up here and there. He feels like one of the extras. When something happens to him at the films climax your like oh crap I forgot he was in this movie. Don't get me wrong he is a funny guy, but he was really under used in this film. This is how kids films should be. This is at Pixar level of animated films. Most non-Pixar animated films of the last couple years have been not so good films. Here then you'll have the exception like a Rango, Tintin, or How To Train Your Dragon but most the time Pixar animated films are for everyone. Thats what this is. There is humor there for kids and adults. This film is hilarious. I found myself laughing hysterically at points. The dialogue is very witty and smart. Hugh Grant is easily the best part of the movie because he is hilarious all the way through. There is some bad in the film though but very minor issues. Some of the jokes fall a bit lat. A majority of them are funny, but there was some that just did not work for me. The other thing that wasn't good was Jeremy Piven. Now, I love Piven. No, he is not fighting Vampires! Steven Spielberg is one of my all-time favorite directors! He has made such classics in the past. This isn't a classic but it is a damn good film! Daniel Day Lewis pretty much just stole the Oscar there is pretty much no competition as of now! Daniel Day Lewis embodies Lincoln, he is Lincoln! If you didn't tell me that was Daniel Day Lewis playing Abraham Lincoln I wouldn't of guessed it was him! Also Tommy Lee Jones has easily snagged a Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor because he was fantastic as well! The performances are what truly carries this film! If the performances weren't this good it would not be as good of a film! The film is a slow film, a really slow film! You feel that full two and a half hours! I will admit also there were some parts where I got bored and that was because there was so many scenes they could've cut out. It just felt like they said well this is a Spielberg film about Abraham Lincoln so it has to be at least two and a half hours long! The thing that moves a lot of the slow scenes along is the humor in the film! This film is not a comedy by any stretch but the film has its very funny moments their are a lot of them! Even though you know what is gonna happen because it is basic American History but the scene where they are voting to pass the thirteenth amendment or not and it felt very suspenseful! Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of my favorite actors. He is pretty good at picking roles and I have not seen him in a bad film yet! He gave in my opinion his best performance of his career so far this July as John Blake in "The Dark Knight Rises". Did he top that performance in "Premium Rush"? No, but he still did a great job! I truly believed he was this bad ass bike messenger who was crazy good at riding a bike. The same goes for Michael Shannon as the NYPD Cop who is in deep with the wrong people and needs to steal Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character Wiley's package he is delivering to repay a gambling debt. Like I said with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, you forget that Michael Shannon is Michael Shannon you think that he is this cop who is really evil and will do anything to get what he wants. The bike chases here are dazzling to look at! I love whenever Joseph Gordon-Levitt wants to figure out which path he wants to take, it shows all the different outcomes that will happen if he takes that path. The visuals in the film are great. The soundtrack is very cool too. It is very upbeat and loud, I liked it! I did have some issues with it though. The girl Joseph Gordon-Levitt is trying to protect and deliver her package is God awful in this film. She was Stu's wife in "The Hangover: Part II" which was decent in, but she was one of the main girls in "Sucker Punch"...yuck! She speaks broken english in the film and it just doesn't work, she was terrible. There is a lot of cheesy/bad dialogue spread throughout the film. The movie has its moments where its funny, but it also has its moments when it tries and fails. But overall "Premium Rush" is a really fun time! ” - spikee5697

So this film is one my most anticipated films of the year! The trailers made it look like this modern sci-fi epic classic. Ridley Scott is an excellent director in my opinion. His last couple of films haven't lived up to his standards in my opinion. I have to say this film is a disappointment due to the hype it created but that doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it. The hype that this film has going for it is insanely high so when the film doesn't exceed my 9 to 9.5 out of 10 score expectations I would consider it some sort of disappointment. Prometheus is a very good film, but suffers from some big flaws. Lets just get the flaws out of the way first. The film is very slow. The set up takes so long to get through and while what they were presenting was interesting, it felt like they could of taken some scenes out just to keep the movie from dragging. The dialogue for Noomy Rapace and the guy who looks like Tom Hardy(Her boyfriend in the film) is pretty bad. Noomy Rapace is a really good actress but you can tell she needs to be working with a good script cause her performance along with her boyfriend in the film are really mediocre. Some characters are so underwritten that when some crazy sh*t happens to them you don't care! But that doesn't go for Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, and Guy Pearce(Who's in the film for a short time, but he is excellent). These people bring there A-Game, especially Michael Fassbender who plays the android David. He doesn't emotions but you get the feeling he wants to know things. He is very curious. Charlize Theron plays the biggest bitch in film in the past year and boy dose she play that well. Idris Elba plays the ships captain and he is just plain out fantastic. Guy Pearce for the little screen time he has is great and his character is someone I really wanna know more about. You should know by now when you're walking into a Ridley Scott directed film you are in for a real visual treat. I would be lying to you if I said this movie didn't look or sound good. It looks and sounds absolutely phenomenal. The score also lends a big hand in helping make moments very tense and frightening. It may sound like this movie has more cons than pros but that isn't true. There is even more things about this film that I like but I will not say cause I do not wanna spoil. This is one of the big surprises of 2012! From the trailers this film didn't look like it would be any good. I love surprising movies! This movie is really funny. There are a few jokes that don't totally hit the mark. Performance wise, they are pretty good. Anna Kendrick is really good as the lead of the film. I did have issues with her character though. It was hard to get on her side in the first 15 minutes because she comes of unlikable. You quickly get to liking her and then about half way through the movie she does something that doesn't make you like her for like 5 minutes. Then you go right back to liking the character. Rebel Wilson easily was the best part of the movie in her role as Fat Amy. The soundtrack to this film is really fun and all the acapella singing is pretty cool. One thing that really pissed me off in the film was this running joke where they would say this is or that is aca(insert word here). It was never funny. I hated when they said that. It honestly got on my nerves. It is a little raunchy which is really surprising but it works here. Elizebeth Banks and her co-host have some best scenes of the movie. They are always saying really inappropriate things in a really polite manner. I also really like a lot of the film references in this. Anna Kendricks character is a DJ(Yes a DJ I know I found that weird too) and she makes some really awesome mixes that I wish they would release. In the end "Pitch Perfect" is a really enjoyable film. So me having no knowledge about the Men in Black series I have to this movie makes me want to visit the first 2. It was actually a really fun movie. So originally I had no expectations for this film. I thought the trailer was just plain out terrible. Boy was I wrong. So the film has a great sense of humor and also has great elements of sci-fi. Will Smith is funny and actually cursed. Yeah he cursed a couple times. I'm just as surprised as you are. Tommy Lee Jones' role as Agent K is only in the film for a bit, but when Will Smith goes to the past he meets up with the young Agent K played by Josh Brolin. Josh Brolin 100% steals the show where he does an absolutely excellent job doing a impersonation of the young Tommy Lee Jones/Agent K. The movie manages to throw in some emotional plot points towards the end of the film. The movie has a very great visual style to it. I love the way the aliens look and I also love the effects as well. Most the jokes here are very funny. There are clever things in the background of scenes. The vibe they give off for the late 60's is great. Also there is a scene involving Andy Warhole's "The Factory" is hysterical. The film has a absolutely terrible first 30 minutes. It was very boring. Every joke that was attempted fell flat or was funny until they ran it to the ground. During that first 30 minutes, I was saying to myself "What did I get myself into?". It was not until the time travel came into play and that is where it gained my interest. You also have Jermaine Clements as a villan who I thought was just a very weak villan who was really forgettable and at times I absolutely forgot he was in the film. Those were my only problems, the first 30 minutes was absolutely painful to watch but I thought it was a pretty good time. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, separated at birth. This is there 8th collaboration together. A lot of people now-a-days don't like Tim Burton movies. I can see not liking Alice in Wonderland(#10 on My Top 10 Worst Movies of 2010), but I really enjoyed some of there other recent ones like Charlie and the Chocolate and Corpse Bride. But out of all of them my favorite has to be Ed Wood, just saying. So I am a fan of Burton. I was willing to forgive him and Depp for making Alice in Wonderland. So how was Dark Shadows? I thought it was great. I had such a good time with this film. Lets jump right into the good stuff shall we. Johnny Depp as always brings his A-Game to the table. His character of Barnabis Collins is very funny and likable but also has an evil side to him. You also have Michelle Pfieffer and Helena Bonham Carter who are also great in the film. I would say most of the acting is great here. This movie is hilarious at points. Most of Depps jokes are the fish out of water type of jokes and they're hilarious. Also I found Helena Bonham Carter to be really funny at points of the film as well. Burtons visual style in this film really sets the mood of the 1970's. You also have to thank his cinematographer for really giving us some breathtaking shots. Danny Elfman's score as always is fantastic. Like the visual style it really set the mood of the 1970's. Also the soundtrack is great and will be nostalgic to many people of that era. There were some stuff in the film that really ticked me off. The pacing of the film is very inconsistent. One minute its very fast paced and the next its slow molasses. The film is being advertised as a comedy. But it is actually a horror comedy. The horror that is in this film catches you off guard in a bad way. The transition from horror to comedy is very bad. It doesn't feel right. Also like most of the recent Burton films towards the end of the film when the climax begins the visual distract you from the actually story and you don't know what is going on anymore cause so much crazy stuff is going on. Pretty much the visuals take over the story the film is trying to tell. But it I ended up having a good time with Dark Shadows. You should go see it in the theatre or watch it on DVD but either way it is worth a watch. It's a ton of fun! ” - spikee5697

Lets just get this right off the bat this movie is funny. At some points it is actually very funny, but I can't help but be a little disappointed. This film was directed by Nicholas Stollar who directed two movies that are really really hysterical, they are "Forgetting Sara Marshall" and "Get Him to the Greek". Him and Jason Seagal both wrote those two films and another film I love 2011's "The Muppets". This movie was funny but no where near as good as those three movies, but it still is a funny movie. All the actors here do a very good job, but the one guy who steals the show and every scene he is in is Chris Pratt as Jason Seagal's characters best friend. This guy was hysterical! I didn't think that this guy had it in him but he did. I remember him from "Moneyball" in a small part but he looked like no funny guy! But something that has to be good in this film the two leads Jason Seagal and Emily Blunt. They are both very good in the film and both have good chemistry. You also have other good small roles like Kevin Hart's character and this big guy Jason Seagals character worked with. One big problem with this movie though is that it way too long. This thing should've been wrapped up in 90 minutes not almost two hours. There was a point where it dragged during the third act. There are also some bad lines of dialogue and the acting in the first like 10 minutes, but it picked up after that. Not every joke lands in the film but most of them do. There are some jokes in this film where I was laughing and it was so funny that I was laughing into the scene. But in the end this film is very good romantic comedy just not a great one like I wanted it to be! There are a lot of laughs in this one, you'll enjoy it! ” - spikee5697

Wow, this is the first time in awhile I've said I've seen a really good Adam Sandler movie! For the past couple year Sandler has hit a low, besides Funny People(A film I love) and Thats My Boy(It was Okay, made me laugh at some points), he has made some terrible movies! The one none of us will ever forgive him for is last years..."Jack and Jill". Jesus was that movie bad! This is honestly a huge surprise for me! I didn't think the trailers were good at all! I was like "Oh a generic kids animated movie with Sandler and friends". But this movie was actually really! Its really funny and just a fun time! I don't understand why the critics are bagging on this movie! Is it because it's Sandler? The movie has a great cast of voice actors. Adam Sandler as Dracula, Kevin James as Frankenstein, Steve Busciemi as the Wolfman, David Spade as the Invisible Man, and much more! The movie is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and it really has his animation style to it! He is the creator of many great cartoon shows of my childhood that still hold up like Samurai Jack, Dexters Laboratory, Power Puff Girls, Star Wars: The Clone Wars(The Original), and the Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy! He is known for 2D animation but he transfers his style to CG beautifully! The animation is just a joy to look at! The movie is such a fun time! I did have some issues with it though. Not every joke hits the mark, a large portion of them succeed and some just miss the mark. Also Fran Drescher really annoyed me as Frankensteins wife! But the other thing that wasn't working with me so well was the chemistry between Dracuals Daughter played by Selena Gomez and the human Jonathan played Andy Samberg. While they both do a great job they never had any good chemistry. It just didn't really work for me. But in the end this film is such a good time! Its really funny, fun, and surprising! John Carter could have been a disaster but it actually wasn't! John Carter was one of my most anticipated movies of 2012 and as the weeks approached before the movie I started to grow some doubts about it! Early reviews were saying it was disappointing, others were saying it was great! So going in I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that John Carter is a really good time! Take that with a grain of salt though because the film suffers from some big flaws. Lets get the flaws out of the way first! John Carter and the Princess have no chemistry at all. You do not believe for a second that they fall in love with each other! They are cool characters but there relationship felt very underwritten. The other thing is the amount of confusion that went on in my head. There are tons of plot holes and things that don't make sense. I found myself confused at many points cause to tell you the truth during those scenes there was just to much sh*t going on. The film drags in the middle for maybe 10 minutes too. But what is good about John Carter? The action sequences are absolutely breathtaking and crazy! John Carter is character I really like. The cinematography is fantastic and really captures the grittiness of Mars. When the movie tries to be funny it is surprisingly really funny especially when John Carter first arrives to Mars. The highlight of the film is arena fight scene. It looks like the scene from Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones, but thank God it is not. The movie does feel cliched at points but then I realized that this is based off the book that inspired most sci-fi today. George Lucas has came out and said that Princess of Mars(The Novel "John Carter" is based on) was one of his inspirations for Star Wars and same thing goes for James Cameron with Avatar! The Original Star Wars Movie and Avatar are definitely much better films but John Carter still is a ton of fun! ” - spikee5697

Now this a fun movie! The first Expendables film was kind of fun but took itself way too seriously. It had its moments but it just didn't do it for me! I have to say this film is one of the funnest movies of the summer! I'm not saying its a great movie cause there are a lot of better films to come out this year but this is a ton of fun from start to finish! This film is very self aware of its self. It knows it is supposed to be stupid, popcorn, action movie and that is exactly what it is! The only issues with the film are 98% of the dialogue is really really really bad and also most of the acting here and when I mean most I mean almost everybody aren't giving good performances but they work! The only person that seemed they were trying was Liam Hemsworth who isn't in the movie a whole lot but his performance is decent. Some of the dialogue is so cheesy that I just ate it up and loved it! But the issues only bring the movie down 2.5 points for me cause the action here is just extraordinary ad just seeing some of my favorite action movie stars fight side by side brings this score up a lot! At one point all these characters start exchanging eachothers classic lines to eachother and my geeky little heart was bursting in excitment! The movie never drags and the first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes have some of the best action scenes I've seen so far this year! Simon West replaces Sylvester Stallone at the directors chair this time around and I think it was for the best! Simon West isn't the best director but he is a substantially better director than Stallone on the first Expendables film. You can tell he just to the actors just have fun and thats what they did. In the first one I felt that Stallone told the actors to actually try to act and be serious where that had no right to be done in the first movie due to its script! But really this movie is so much fun! The action is so awesome and just seeing all these action stars fight side by side makes it worth seeing! Just be aware going in this isn't an artsy movie with great acting and a great piece of story telling cause its not that! But overall its a good movie, see it! ” - spikee5697

This is pure popcorn fun. Going in I didn't know what to expect. I like the Crank and Transporter films they are very fun to watch. I wasn't a fan of Stathem's last movie The Mechanic. He is either hit or miss for me. I am happy to say that I really liked this movie. I wanna get my issues out of the way first. The biggest problem in this film is the script. I would say 90% of the dialogue in this film is really bad. Some of the lines they spit out are truly laughable! Also most of the supporting cast can't act for sh*t. Especially the little girl! She is so annoying. She probably had the worst dialogue out of everyone in the film! But what did work? Jason Stathem is fantastic. This is one of his best performances. I'm not saying its an Oscar worthy performance but he was really good! The pacing is great in this film it never slows down. From beginning to end there is stuff going on and you never get bored. The story isn't the most original thing I've seen but I was always interested on what was gonna happen next. Even though the dialogue is weak for some reason most of the humor in this film actually works. But the thing that really makes this movie a ton of fun is the action! There are some very suspenseful and just plain out awesome action sequences where I was on the edge of my seat. This is a really fun film that if your an action fan you should go see! I am the Lorax I speak for the trees! This movie is such a nice movie. It is a really feel good type of film. Is it the best animated movie ever? No way but it is a really good time. I was so surprised to see that I really enjoyed this film! Danny DeVito is the perfect Lorax and Ed Helms is a great Once-Ler. All the voices are really good with the exception of a couple. Like I really like Rob Riggle but he seemed like he was trying to hard with his character as the Mayor. His jokes mostly fell flat. The classic story of the Lorax is here and is still a beautiful story. The animation is amazing in this film and is bright, colorful, and happy. My major complaint about the film is how they stretched the story of the Lorax so much, so when you get back to Present Day(The Non "Lorax" Part of the Film) you have no huge emotional connection to the characters and it feels like a minor minor minor sub plot to the film because it focus' way to much on the story of the Lorax which is still a excellent story. The movie is funny and also manages to get some emotions in the end. Its a good movie that families will love. ” - spikee5697

When I heard about this film I was very interested in it. But I knew nothing about it. Steven Soderbergh is a very talented director and I was very interested in him directing a spy film. So where does Haywire shine most? Its action is superb! This isn't a explosion/robot/car chase action film. This is a physical action film, where everyone is beating each other up using hand-to-hand combat! We rarely get that now-a-days. The cinematography from Peter Andrews(a.k.a. Steven Soderbergh) is fantastic. The fight sequences are filmed excellently and you can tell whats going on. The pacing in the film is very good. Its face paced from start to finish. The acting from most of the actors is really good. For the most part its good. Channing Tatum looks like he's trying way to hard but he just doesn't fit the character. I've seen this film post 21 Jump Street and he should just start acting in comedies, cause he is terrible in dramas. And the main character who is play by MMA fighter Gina Carano. They dubbed her voice and that was such a poor choice. She sounds very robotic with almost every line of dialogue she says. Out of all the dialogue for each character for the film she has the weakest dialogue and you're with her for 95% of the film. There is also that kid from Sky High who just annoyed the hell out of me even though he is barely in the film. It gets an 8 because its got some kick-ass action, great cinematography, and great acting from actors like Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, and Antonio Banderas. But the poor performances from Channing Tatum and Gina Carano especially. ” - spikee5697

This film was my 10th most anticipated film of 2012. Ever since the first trailer I've been in! I am happy to say that Project X turned out to be good. The movie is really funny! The thriller elements in the movie that come in toward the end of the film actually work in my opinion. I thought the transition was smooth. The whole premise is great and it is based on a true story which is also pretty awesome! The found footage aspect still interests me. Most good things do have bad with them and Project X is flawed. You can tell how hard this is trying to be the next Superbad. I can tell that when they were writing this film they were trying there hardest to make the character Costa like Seth from Superbad but they fail miserably. All the things I enjoyed in this film I don't wanna talk about because I will spoil the film. All I will say is even though this is so mean I could not stop laughing when the midget was beating the *beep* out of people. I know its mean but it is funny. Overall Project X is a fun and good time. It's not a movie that people over the age of 40 will enjoy but if your a teen you love it! ” - spikee5697

So out of the 2 Snow White films to be released this year, this one is the best. This is directed by a first time director and for a first timer he did a really good job with what he was working with. This isn't no Disney Snow White. This is a dark and grittier Snow White that we haven't seen on the big screen. Kristen Stewart plays Snow White and I'm sorry but she was pretty bad. You can't blame the writers on this one it's just that she isn't a good actress. You know what she was pretty good in "Adventureland" but that is because her character kinda acts like she does. But anyways, she keeps doing that signature Kristen Stuart look with her mouth open 1 inch. She is terrible at doing an accent. This makes her not fit in this world and because of this it makes you not buy into this performance. Also Charlize Theron is overacting her ass off in this movie. Almost every scene she is in she is screaming for really no reason. But there are good performances here especially a really good one from Chris Hemsworth. The visuals in the film are fantastic and you got to lend a hand to the cinematographer for just doing a great job capturing the grittiness of this world. The films first act is great, but the second not so much. I thought the first act was really good and I was very interested on what was gonna happen next. Then when the second act began it started to drag and it dragged up until the third act. So there was about 45 minutes of this film moving at a really slow pace. I was checking my phone to see what time it was and at one point I almost fell asleep. But then the third act begins and I was happy I stayed awake because it was so awesome. I felt like I was watching a battle from Lord of the Rings during this films big action set piece towards the end. It really payed off. This films rating would be much higher if the second act wasn't so boring but overall it is film worth watching whether in the theater or renting it. You might feel bored in the middle but trust me just wait it gets awesome. Some might say I'm being harsh on this film but if 45 minutes of it is boring that is about 35% of your film. Taylor Kitsch is pulling for this film to be a success. I have to say I've had some excitement for this film since I saw the first trailer. I have to say I liked Savages! This film has such a good vibe that it gives off. It looks beautiful thanks to director Oliver Stone and cinematographer Dan Mindel. Also the music in the film is great. Acting ranges from Bad to Great. The three standouts here are Selma Hyak, Benicio Del Toro, and John Travolta. They are great. Selma Hyak in the trailer looked really over the top and it turned out she was not over the top at all in the movie. John Travolta gives one of his best performances of the past couple years and that's because most of his other performances of the past couple years have sucked, besides Mrs. Turnblatt in Hairspray that was awesome! He steals every scene he is in. But the true standout of the standouts in Benicio Del Toro. He gives a fantastic performance as one of the most evil villains of the past 5 years. He is ruthless and scary! There are bad performances here like Blake Lively and Taylor Kitsch. Black Lively is insanely HOT, but she is really bad in this film. I don't wanna blame her for this bad performance 'cause you can tell she was trying but I've realized she needs good dialogue and a director who makes her do her best. For example Ben Afflek with The Town. She gave a incredible performance in that film and definitely one of the best performances from an actress in 2010. The example of her doing bad is Green Lantern. The script all around was full of terrible dialogue for everyone and her performance was effected by that. I just think the character was very under-written. Taylor Kitsch was a little different. He definitely had some really cheesy lines at points but he was really over acting to the point where your about to laugh. Aaron Johnson on the other hand is alright. He has some moments where he is great and others where he is bad. The film has a really slow pace at times, but it is worth the slow pace at times because of the fantastic action sequences. They're excellently shot and are just so much fun to watch. There also a couple edge of your seat thrilling scenes especially one involving an eye that I won't forgot for awhile. Savages is a decent flick that has some really enjoyable and fun moments. There are some things that don't work here, but overall I think it is worth seeing! ” - spikee5697

This is a disappointing movie. Pixar for me has an almost perfect track record, besides films like "Cars" and "Cars 2". This joins that group of Pixar films. This isn't a bad movie, this is just a decent movie. This is a groundbreaking achievement for Pixar, not in storytelling but in animation. It looks absolutely gorgeous. This is the best looking animated movie I have ever seen. I thought the trailer was fantastic for this movie. The trailer makes you think this is about a girl showing her community that she can be whatever she wants to be and thats what the first half of the movie was about. My biggest problem with the film is the second half it turns out not be the movie I thought it was gonna be. It becomes very cleched and a very unoriginal movie. Most of the time Pixar has a very original story and the story they showed us here is something I have seen so many times before this and I have seen it done better in other movies. I keep bagging on this movie but I will say the first half of the film is incredible. It was in 9 or 9.5 rating territory, I was loving it. It was something I thought could be a potential Pixar classic. That's why this film is a 7/10. The first half was something original and I was so happy. Also the score throughout the movie is great. The voice cast is stellar and all the voices fit the characters. This reminded me more a Dreamworks movie then a Pixar movie. It is something that kids will adore but people over the age of 13 will be disappointed. I would say see it at a matinee or rent it because you'll love the first half but be disappointed by a disappointing second half. It is pretty much a mixture of "Tangled", "How to Train Your Dragon", and "Brother Bear" which are all better movies. ” - spikee5697

The acting is mediocre, the dialogue and writing is bad, and the film is way to short. The movie is so short you feel like you just start to get to know the characters and then it ends! What did work in this film? The fun-factor, the score, the director manages to pull off these beautiful shots in an ugly city, and of course the mind-blowing action! This movie opens up with non-stop action and never stops! The score is so loud(in a good way) that it is like its own character. You can tell the directors and writers knew this wasn't gonna be Citizens Kane and said you know what *beep* it lets give the audience a good time. But can Danielle Radcliff perform well when he is not in a Harry Potter film? Actually yes! So why did I give this movie a 6.75? Well, the movie does drag for awhile in the middle, the movie is filled with unneeded jump scares, and I felt confused and lost for awhile. What did work in the movie? The acting is great, the dialogue is surprisingly good, the direction is pretty good, and of course when it's scary it is really scary! Was I scared more by last years "Paranormal Activity 3"? Yes! Was I scared more by last months "The Devil Inside"? Absolutely not! It is worth watching don't get me wrong, but those problems I stated really can take you out of the experience! It is an okay, but don't expect this to change you life or anything! If you are a fan of Potter you'll just love the amount of jokes about Harry Potter floating around the theater. ” - spikee5697

When the first trailer got released for this film I was not to thrilled about it. It annoyed the *beep* out of me. It look like a MAJOR piece of sh*t. And surprisingly I liked it. So the one thing that is perfect in this film is the actors that they choose to play the stooges. They remind me of the old lovable stooges I used to watch when I was a kid. They gave me non-stop laughs. You also have some other funny characters like Sophia Vergara and a couple others. The one thing that pissed me off a lot in the trailer was the Jersey Shore part. If you know me, I was a huge fan of the first 2 seasons of Jersey Shore. Others hated it, but I loved it. It was really stupid but it was an original concept. In the trailer for this film they seemed out of place. The Jersey Shore scenes in this film are probably the highlight of the movie. They had me laughing hysterically. But there is bad to the film too. All of the child actors in this film are God awful. They can't act to save there lives. It excruciating just get through scenes with them in it. Also there is point towards the middle of the were it drags for a good 20 minutes. That was the point were I was checking my clock which is not a good sign. Also Larry David surprisingly is the most unfunny person in the movie. He is the creator of Sienfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, which are 2 of my favorite shows. He was weird, annoying, and unfunny. So after "Jack & Jill", I thought that was it for Adam Sandler! And when I heard this film was being made I dreading it. Then I saw the trailer, and I started to dredd it even more. But it turned out that film wasn't that bad! I will say there are some laughs in this movie where I was laughing hard and out loud. There are also some jokes that really miss the mark completely! The movie has a really nice kind hearted feel to it and that didn't annoy me! The acting here though sucks! Was I expecting Oscar calibur performances in an Adam Sandler rated R raunchy comedy? Not at all! Vanilla Ice is 100% the highlight of this movie. He shows up for what you think is a cameo in the beginning and then in the mid way point of the film becomes a main character and also packs in a lot of laughs! But the bad acting, and amount of jokes that miss the mark are what pulls this down to a 6/10 for me! Its Okay. ” - spikee5697

Dreamworks Animation has had there ups and downs I love the first two Shrek films, I enjoy films like the original Madagascar, Over the Edge, and a couple others. They've also made films like Madagascar 2, Shrek 3 & 4, and I'm sorry but Kung Fu Panda 2! So what about Madagascar 3 is it good or bad? It just winds up being okay. I remember I never enjoyed Chris Rock as Marty the Zebra in the first two Madagascar films cause they always over use him and he comes out annoying. In this one they give you just enough of him and he actually has some really funny moments! I will admit I found the "Afro Circus" song kind of funny. The animation is beautiful as usual. Dreamworks always delivers visually and they really did on this one. The voice cast is great, most of the original cast is back along with some new comers like Bryan Cranston, Jessica Chastain, and Martin Short. The movie has its moments where its really funny but it also has moments where it falls flat! There is a point in the film where it drags for awhile and it started to bore me for a bit! The pace throughout is very slow and it feels much longer than an 80 minute movie. But overall this movie wasn't bad it was okay but it really surprised me cause I was not excited for this movie at all and it wasn't bad! This is the first of 2 Snow White based films coming out this year. The other one is Snow White and the Huntsman which looks so much better than this looked in the trailers. The queen in Snow White and the Huntsman is being played by Charlize Theron and Julia Roberts is playing the Queen in Mirror Mirror. Julia Roberts is arguably a better actress but this looked like a bad carreer choice for her. From the trailers released for this film I was guessing this would be a front runner for worst movie of 2012. I thought the trailers were God awful. Surprisingly this film wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. There actually some enjoyable moments during this film. Julia Roberts stars as the queen and she is definitely the best part of the film. I would go as far as saying she was great in this film. It was no Academy Awards worthy performance but she did a pretty good job. Armie Hammer does a decent job and has a few funny moments here and there. Lily Collins who plays Snow White wasn't to great though. It seemed like the writers gave all the funny jokes and good dialogue to Julia Roberts and not the Snow White character. You also have some other people who aren't that good like Nathan Lane who normally makes me laugh, but in this he was pretty mediocre. A lot of his jokes fall flat. Same goes for the 7 dwarfs. They were not funny at all. I'm seriously hoping the 7 dwarfs in Snow White and the Huntsman are better! This film is directed by Tarsem Singh which directed last years Immortals which was a beautiful looking film and he was definatly the right choice for this film. The set design and costume design are amazing looking. Each set and each costume is amazing looking! The special effects are great too. Tarsem Singh us definatly more of a visual director than anything else. His visual style is great. The cinematography is also excellent! Overall Mirror Mirror is an okay movie. Nothing to good and nothing to bad. It does have some good moments but the flaws are huge in this film! This is a pretty inconsistent film. There are plenty of great scenes in this movie, along with some bad ones. There are a lot of bad scenes. But when there are good scenes they are great! The action and fight scenes in this film are amazing! The acting is really good! Tom Cruise is great as Jack Reacher. Jack Reacher is a pretty bad ass character who you do not want to mess with! Tom Cruise a short guy but in this film he can take down 5 guys who are a least a foot taller than him. They are begging for mercy! The supporting cast is really good here. You have two standouts like Robert Duvall and Richard Jenkins. Robert Duvall doesn't show up till the last 45 minutes but fro what he is he is great! The films problems lye with its pacing and the inconsistent scenes. One scene is great the next is bad. This happens way to often in the film. The film is extremely slow paced to. During the bad scenes in the film the film seems like a CBS crime show like CSI or Law and Order. I didn't think this film was bad or mediocre, it wasn't good either. It's an okay movie, that suffers from a ton of problems but is able to survive from its awesome action scenes. The scenes that were great in this film make it worth seeing but definitely not at a full price admission or maybe just even a matinee tops. The script and dialogue are pretty *beep* The action scenes in the film are actually a lot of fun to watch. The most surprising thing about this film is actually that it has some really funny moments. There is one scene involving Josh Hutcherson and another kid running into a Subway sandwich shop and robbing it. It had me laughing so hard! The other cool thing was the film knew how to not overstay its welcome. It knows right when to end. It is only 93 minutes, but that was all we needed! I didn't really hate the film. I didn't like the film either. It sits in the middle for me but has some really cool aspects to it along with *beep* moments. This film isn't worth seeing at the theatre even at a matinee price. Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie looked God awful from the trailers. Was it? No, but it wasn't good either? No. This movie is funny. There are about 4 or 5 laugh out loud jokes. The part where Eric gets *beep* on, I was laughing my ass off. But then there are jokes that go on way to long that weren't funny to begin with and thats about 50% of the jokes. The celebrity cameos are hilarious in this film. John C. Reilly was funny at first but then his whole joke started to get old. The acting is so-so, but what would you expect in a film like this. The story is nothing special and it is pretty stupid. The celebrity impersonators are spot on. They spoof on people like Johnny Depp and Steven Spielberg and there impersonators are excellent. The comercial parts were pretty funny too. There are tons of gross out gags that work sometimes but not all the time. When they work they are laugh out loud funny. I didn't like and I didn't hate it. I didn't think this movie has that bad. It's not a good movie by any stretch, but it has some good and at one point great elements to it! The first hour and twenty minutes is kind of *beep* and boring at times! With the exception of the scenes involving the forming of this vampire team with all sorts of really cool powers. The movie is filled with unintentional laughs. By now you probably heard that Jacob imprints Bella and Edwards baby Resmenese. They try to justify as a good thing but it is just downright creepy as hell. That scene had me laughing hysterically at one point because Bella is like growling and *beep* at Jacob and then starts beating the crap out of him. The acting in this film still is terrible just like in the other ones but Bellas dad is good for the time he is in the film. I still don't understand why the Cullens and the other vampires care and want to fight for Bella. She is a bitch and she has been one since movie one! Also the cgi is pretty awful at some points. But let me tell you why this movie gets most of its points. The last twenty minutes are awesome! The battle between the vampires and werewolves versing the Voltore is bad ass! It is the first time in this franchise where I actually got what I wanted to happen in one of these movies! It also is the first time I ever felt any sympathy for these characters. When people died I actually cared! And when the battle is over the movies ends nicely! I was happy the movie didn't have a *beep* ending even though I'm not a fan of the series at all and that THE TWILIGHT MOVIES ARE FINALLY OVER!! If you ever had to watch this movie go rent it. There is some garbage in this film but seeing the assembling of this vampire team and the final battle make it worth renting just to watch those! Mark Wallbergh looks like he is here just to put bread on the table! He puts no effort into his performance and just is average. Kate Beckinsill is trying here hardest to perform and she pulled off a great performance considering it was an average performance. Gionovi Rabisi seems like he was the only guy who really read the script and knew it was in New Orlenes but it turns out he is trying to hard and he just comes off funny and not in a good way! He reminded me in Nic Cage in any of his latest films! What was good? The cinematography really gets the grittiness of the city done and the soundtrack is pretty good! This movie is just very forgettable! I'm having trouble remembering a lot about the film! This is something I'll probably forget about by tomorrow and never think about it again! Wow, this film was the piece of garbage everyone said it was! I mean it wasn't a good movie any stretch of the imagination but it wasn't as bad as it is said to be! While the film has some huge flaws there are things here to enjoy! Tom Hardy as always gives a good performance and he is one the best actors working today just because he was able to pull out a good performance with script he is working with. Chris Pine is alright. His character can come off annoying at times but he wasn't all that bad. Reese Witherspoon on the other hand sucked! She does not say one funny thing even worth a chuckle in this film. In beginning of the film you see her walking down the street where tere are tons of people. She has headphones on and she proceeds to start singing and literally like no one even cares! I was just like what the *beep* am I watching because I don't know how the writers thought anyone would find that funny! That tiny little part really pissed methe *beep* off! The movie has its moments where it can be really funny, but there are also parts where the jokes fall flat on there face! This is shown especially with Chelsey Handler's attempts at humor! I did not like her character one bit! There is a part where Reese Witherspoon says the hypocritic thing and I literraly really got pissed! It felt like the writers thought we could feel sympathetic for Reese Witherspoon but she just becomes really unlikable! I don't know if they were trying to make a joke out of that but it wasn't funny! There is a scene involving Tom Hardy paintballing with children and I have to admit I was laughing really hard, like I still am getting some chuckles out of it just thinking about it now! But the one huge problem with this film is Reese Witherspoon doesn't have any chemistry with either Chris Pine or Tom Hardy! The first hour is really bad and confusing. Things happen and they do not explain it at all! When you get to the end they kind of tie it up but the way they do it is really rushed. The film is full of clichés and the dialogue is really bad. These screenwriters must think that cursing makes people like a movie because they randomly curse at points and it feels like it should not be there. This is the definition of a B-Movie. Lets just get this out of the way, this film is very cheesy. At points its cheesiness can be a lot of fun and other points just make the film bad. The fighting sequences are shot very well and they are a ton of fun to look at. They are completely unbelievable but they are fun to watch. Russel Crowe manages to give a very overtop performance that is pretty good. The movie also has a great soundtrack. The movie is filled with a ton of problems though. The dialogue is just terrible. Russel Crowe does manage to pull a good performance though. The acting here is really terrible. Who decided that the rapper the RZA was an actor or a director? Of all people to put the RZA in charge of directing it had to be Quentin Tarrantino? Very disapointed at you Quentin! But you can tell the RZA has no idea how to direct a film like this. I've heard he is a big fan of the kung-fu genre, that doesn't mean he can direct it or act in it well. Lucy Lui is pretty awful too. The main character is the RZA's character and he is just not a guy I cared about all that much. There was points where I rooted for him but most of the time he isn't all that interesting. Yeah, this sucked. I gotta say I'm really disappointed with this one. Now I think the first two films in this franchise are alright they are nothing that special but they are enjoyable. The third film in my opinion was great! If I were to do a top 15 list of my favorite films of last year it would've been my number 15. It was truly scary. This one, eh. While it has some moments that scared me, I would say a large portion of the film fails at being scary. The film just isn't that scary. Also the characters are just plain out stupid. The levels of stupidity these characters reach at some points is crazy. The acting also doesn't help here either. The only good performance that was in this film was Matt Shively. He was that kid on that show "True Jackson VP". I remember his character on that show was really annoying and just not funny. In this film he was really funny and was the best part of the movie! He is the only character I liked. All the other characters are one dimensional and really underwritten. There also was scenes that involved the main character this teenage girl running around with her MacBook in her hands still recording *beep* even though she is getting chased by a demon! If that was me that MacBook would be through the wall and I would be out of the house immediately. Also they are recorded security footage on their computers 24 hours a day for a good 2 weeks and if that was real life those computers would've only made it through maybe 2 or 3 days. Sorry for the nitpicks, but that was bothering me. Even though I have many complaints about this film there was far worse movies to come out this year. Every single person in this film are terrible. The dialogue is so bad that it is seriously laughable. The actors(soldiers) cannot act at all. There acting is like a 1st grade school play level of acting. The film is pretty boring. The attempts at humor are God awful. This is pretty much Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1, 2, and 3 the movie. It is like watching someone play that game. Yeah wouldn't that be boring? The action set pieces are pretty cool, but then your like this is cool but how the *beep* did this come about. But the action still was entertaining. Also the cinematography is breathtaking at points I will say that. This is a fil that is really forgettable. The film is suffers from war movie cleche's at times. It is also really predictable. The plot is barely there. The characters are just uninteresting. What a generic forgettable movie. I've never seen any of the original Alex Cross but I do know that Morgan Freeman played the role of Alex Cross. Tyler Perry is NO Morgan Freeman, by any stretch of the imagination! There are plenty of things wrong with this movie. Lets just start off with the acting. The acting is pretty horrible at point. The script doesn't help out either. Matthew Fox is the films villain and he gives one of the worst performances I have seen all year in a film! Some of the lines he has are just some of the worst dialogue I have heard in awhile. At points its hysterical just because of how terrible his acting is! Matthew Fox isn't a bad actor, I've seen him act fairly well before. I've seen a couple episodes of "Lost" and he does a very good job on that show. But here in "Alex Cross" he is terrible. So is pretty much the whole cast but surprisingly Tyler Perry isn't as bad a you think he might have been. He isn't good but he is better than the cast he his working with. You don't really have a true connection to Alex Cross. You kind of watch it and say oh cool he just caught some guy but I could care less NEXT! I will admit though the action is filmed pretty well. There is also some action is sort of cool in it not very good but is good for something in this pile of *beep* Also the movie is laughable at points because of how bad it is at points! This is definitely one of the biggest disappointments of 2012 for me. I was expecting this really fun 1980's nostalgia joy ride, but it was not. It is directed by Adam Shankman who directed one of my favorite musicals Hairspray. But he also directed Bedtime Stories and a couple of episodes of Glee. The movie starts off with a musical number where it feels so awkward that I started laughing at the movie for being so stupid. But then after that all the musical numbers are great. I was tapping my foot and enjoying all them. But all the scenes between each musical number are really boring and your just praying that a musical number will start! The acting here by most of the cast is terrible. This is especially shown in the 2 leads played by Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta. Julianne Hough might be extremely hot and believe me she is she can't act her way out of a paper bag! They give some bad performances, but they're great singers and dancers. Every time a song comes on they light up the screen. Tom Cruise plays the big rockstar Stacey Jaxx and every scene he is in he steals the show. But other than those things the rest of the movie is bad. This sounds like a nit pick but Catherine Zetta Jones is protesting against Stacey Jaxx and Rock N' Roll b as she sings and dances to songs like "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Bennatar and "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. So much for a protest, right? The film is also extremely insanely predictable. When they try to throw plot twist at you, you know exactly what is coming. I was able to figure out exactly what was gonna happen next all the way through. Maybe the film works best as a rental but it is definitely not worth paying to see it at a theatre. Or you can listen to the music for free at home. But the music, Tom Cruise's performance, and a couple funny jokes here and there are the only redeeming things in the film. So was I expecting anything from this film? Not at all! It was coming out the first week of 2012. If you follow movies you may know that all the bull-sh*t comes out in the first 2 months of the year. So what is bad about the movie? The Acting is extrosous! The dialogue is so horrible. The premise of the film is just poorly executed by really poor direction. The movie is really predictable, every-time a somewhat suspenseful scene starts I knew exactly what was going to happen. I was laughing at how bad some of the dialogue is and people were petrified of this movie and to tell the truth I was laughing at them cause after the first 20 minutes nothing they try to scare you with is scary. I do strongly dislike this movie but there is some good things. The first 20 minutes to tell you the truth are very scary and the beginning of the movie itself is kinda of interesting because they are explaining to you how exorcism's work and I was very interesting. Yeah this movie is a major disappointment! The first Taken was such a original action thriller that has since become a classic amongst my generation! I love that film! I would give "Taken" a 10 out of 10. When I heard they were making a second one, I will admit I had my doubts but I did not think it would be as bad as it turned out to be. The thing is though I do not hate the film. There are plenty of *beep* things in the film but I do not hate it. Let me just tell you what I like first. Liam Neeson does the best he can with this awful script and manages to pull in a somewhat decent performance. The action is good sometimes if only I could see what was going on, and that leads us into the problems of the film. The cinematography in this film is absolutely horrible. There are way to many intense zoom-in zoom-out shots during the action sequences and the camera doesn't stop shaking. I had a bit of a headache at one point. The acting is terrible and that isn't helped by it's bad script. The dialogue at times is laughable in an unintentional way! The film is very predictable as well. The other thing about this film that upset me was it just seemed like no one cared. It felt like the director was there for a paycheck along with Ra's Al Ghul himself Liam Neeson. This also effected the feeling of motivation of characters and you really feel like there are no stakes throughout the whole film. Was anyone really begging for this film to get released? I don't think so. I watched the first 45 minutes or so of this films predecesor Crash of the Titans and i fell asleep at about the 45 minute mark. I thought it was a pretty mediocre film. So I had no excitement for the sequel Wrath of the Titans. But you know what I said why not I'll give it a try. Boy was this bad. To tell you the truth I could not tell you what this film was about because the story is barely there. The only good things about this film are the awesome action scenes, the improved special effects from the first one, and Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. Every time Neeson and/or Fiennes is on the screen you suddenly feel interested in the film but then they switch over to Sam Worthington. This kid can't find a good film for his life. Avatar in my eyes is a masterpiece and he was excellent in it. But ever since Avatar, everything Worthington has been in is sh*t. Other people like Bill Nighy are also great even though he is only in the film for 10 minutes. The dialogue is terrible. Terrible to the point where you'll laugh at some of the sh*t they say especially some of the dialogue from Worthington. They also steal one of my favorite Star Wars quotes from Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, and the quote is "I love you" "I know". Why the hell did they do that? But what was the best part of those movies? Nic Cage and his over-acting! That man is so bad that he is great! And that was the saving grace to this film. The lines he spits out are supposed to be serious and end up just be laughable! That normally is not a good thing but in this case it ended up saving this movie from becoming one of the worst films ever spawned! The other good element is the opening scene of the film is interesting and hypes you up for the rest of the film which ends up being a steaming pile of a bowl movement. If it turns out that the directors of the film were on crack or coke while filming this film I wouldn't be surprised because they have constructed a film where you can not tell what the *beep* is going on for a good 45 minutes of the movie which is most of the movie because the movie is only 79 minutes long. The dialogue is some of the worst ever, the acting is so bad, the characters have no substances at all, and even the CGI sucks. This is a film that should only be seen by true film and comic book fans because they will love how bad this movie is! His wife is played by Denise Richards and she is just lifeless. There 2 kids played by Danielle Campell and Devan Leos, and they were just honestly and truly awful! Especially the girl, eery single line she says is her trying to be offensive to someone and your supposed to laugh and you don't! She isn't a major character in the film but she gave one of the worst performances of the year so far! She honestly sounded like she was acting! Like she couldn't act to save her own life! I honestly wanted to slap the *beep* out of this girl because she is such a bitch but thats what Madea is for right? This is a Madea movie! Well she doesn't slap the *beep* out of her she just makes her cry and that was funny but I thought Madea was gonna do her usual thing! Madea played by the writer/director/producer Tyler Perry honestly is the funny thing in this movie and Madea honestly isn't that funny! I had absolutely no expectations for this film. From the first trailer, I found it to be a poor mans transformers. I am a fan of the Transformers films. Except Revenge of the Fallen, I despise that film. But I really like 1 & 3. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is a better film than Battleship! Yes I said it. At least in Transformers 2 you were interested in what was going to happen. In this you don't give 2 *beep* whats gonna happen next! You have no feelings towards any of the characters. You don't care about a single person in this film. They're advertising this as like the Liam Neeson show but he is barely in the film. The dialogue is AWFUL! Every attempt at humor is terrible! They kept trying to make jokes through the film. Each one of them are terrible jokes. I didn't laugh at any of them. Also the whole alien invasion thing in this film doesn't even happen until about the 45 minute mark. The first 45 minutes are unbearable. I couldn't take it. After the first scene I said to myself "What the hell am I watching?". The film is filled with cliched and there were no surprises at all. There are some cool action set pieces. You also have a killer soundtrack. The film is so boring. The whole sub plot with Brooklyn Decker is useless and something that would've made the movie better because it just wastes time. The movie is 2 hours and 11 minutes. This is way to long. This is a movie that is awful. I hate this film I hope the mainstream audience realizes who terrible this film is. This is the movie that managed to obtain a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes! This movie was filmed in 2008 and you can tell they were trying there best to hold this movie back because it's a piece of sh*t! You can tell this film was made in 2008 because there are jokes about Shaq and a joke about Miley Cyrus being the most popular celebrity. This film is just really stupid! The humor, the characters, the situations, and other things are just really stupid! You can tell Eddie Murphy didn't give two sh*ts when he was filming this movie because he just gives one terrible performance! He makes himself look like a complete idiot and sometimes that funny when it works but here it does not work one bit! He might of ruined his if not already ruined career! There a couple chuckles in this movie but not enough to make the movie worth your time! The acting is just plain out awful and the only person who looked like they were actually trying is Clark Duke. It seemed like he saw the script and was like alright let me do the best job I can possibly do. He wasn't good but at least he tried! Most of the scenarios have logical and different ways to be done that would be the actual way someone would do something but they decide to make Eddie Murphy just make a complete fool of himself and it's sad! During the movie I was like it is really sad that Eddie Murphy career has come to this! The script and the dialogue is sh*t just like everything else in this film! Then towards the end of the film it becomes this drama and I was just like what the *beep* am I watching now I thought this was supposed to be a "comedy"(An unfunny one)! Oh my lord am I worried about Man of Steel. Zack Snyder is more of a visual director and it seems that Henry Cavill cannot be handled by someone like that. My God is this film terrible! This movie looked decent when I saw the trailer for it a couple of months ago. I thought hey this movie has potential its got Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver, and we can see what Henry Cavill can do and boy was I mistaken. The dialogue is some of the worst I've heard in years, and I'm not even kidding! The script goes all over the place and is just a mess and the whole movie is just a complete mess! There is not one good performance in this film not even a decent one. Bruce Willis comes the closest to being decent but was still bad. Henry Cavill gives a Razzie worthy performance as the film protagonist. During the action scenes there is so much shaky cam, even more shaky cam then the scenes when someone would get killed in "The Hunger Games", which is one of the best movies of the year so far, that film is amazing. At least "The Hunger Games" had a good direction, acting, and many other things to back it up, "The Cold Light of Day" doesn't! The only thing that brings this movie up .5 points because there are moments where I was belly laughing at how terrible some of these lines are that these actors have to put out. There is a scene where Henry Cavill is getting medical attention from these to Spanish girls are trying to save him and they are screaming words in spanish really loud and fast. I couldn't contain myself from laughing because it was so bad I thought it was funny as hell! This movie is just one big disaster! I hated this film and whoever the director was needs to go back to Film 101 cause this is just a turd of a film! ” - spikee5697
