An amazing way to start this year of movies to watch. The cast, Wang Ta and Linda especially, are beautiful. Asian pride + Rodgers and Hammerstein is really splendid. Happy movie that is fun to watch :D
2. Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (2011 Video)
G | 90 min | Comedy, Drama, Family
Sharpay Evans travels to New York where she is pursuing a Broadway career but it's her dog who lands an acting gig first.
Madness! While Sharpay has some epic lines at times, "The reason I wear expensive shoes is to take monumental steps..." the movie does little justice to a standard of Disney itself and High School Musical. The plot line is STUPID and SERIOUSLY? THE DOG ROMANCE BETWEEN BOI AND COUNTESS WAS DISGUSTING AS FUG. pity. sigh, going so slow on the movies, and i wanted to do the 250 movies challenge :P
3. Inherit the Wind (1960)
Approved | 128 min | Biography, Drama, History
Based on a real-life case in 1925, two great lawyers argue the case for and against a science teacher accused of the crime of teaching evolution.
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL MOVIE. "He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind." Goodness, Tracy, March makes a wonderful movie and GOD, the HISTORY. This movie makes me lose hope for humankind, makes me hate people. But, more than that, it's just a brilliant movie! Kramer is amazing.
4. Jane Eyre (1943)
Approved | 97 min | Drama, Romance
After a harsh childhood, orphan Jane Eyre is hired by Edward Rochester, the brooding lord of a mysterious manor house, to care for his young daughter.
Votes: 6,632 | Gross: $3.82M
Haha, very interesting adaptation. It has the potential to portray Bronte's story and does it well in the Hays Code time period. Welles is barking angry and Fontaine is very Jane esque. Adele is adorable, and my, Elizabeth Taylor!!!! Okay version of the novel, I think I liked the 2011 version better.
5. It Happened One Night (1934)
Not Rated | 105 min | Comedy, Romance
A spoiled heiress running away from her family is helped by a man who is actually a reporter in need of a story.
I forgot how good this movie was. And how handsome Clark Gable was. So cute and watched it in my history class with the best teacher ever! Haha, funny, watched it five times counting this one. Great to rewatch, loved it.
6. There Will Be Blood (2007)
R | 158 min | Drama, History
A story of family, religion, hatred, oil and madness, focusing on a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business.
Votes: 418,227 | Gross: $40.22M
I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!!! Very brutal reality that brings out the wrong emotions in me. Was very boring in the beginning but picked up very slowly and in the smallest parts. Daniel Day Lewis did a fine job acting, the story is very like Citizen Kane (1942) and felt like it could be taken more deeply. Freaking Eli Sunday was annoying AF! I mean, it's ridiculous! Rather makes me more interested in the works of Mr. Upton Sinclair.
7. Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
R | 111 min | Action, Biography, Crime
Bonnie Parker, a bored waitress falls in love with an ex-con named Clyde Barrow and together they start a violent crime spree through the country, robbing cars and banks.
Bold and reckless. Set in the wonderful Great Depression. The characters are insane and there is some gun action working down in this movie! Pretty good, no doubt of it.

With an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe.
Votes: 161,958 | Gross: $81.56M
Pretty lame. I mean, is there NOTHING to make a movie about? This even has no background to the stupidity other than stupidity. Not worthy.
10. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
R | 169 min | Drama, War
Following the Normandy Landings, a group of U.S. soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.
Votes: 992,716 | Gross: $216.54M
WOW. The story is one of those that is relying too much on the action, sort of like Avatar. Action is pretty amazing, brutal, and looks like you are in a video game. Very modern touch but good actors, very good ones.

One of the most brilliant movies I've watched all year. I was left speechless by this silent wonder. Really shows that the film world is timeless. Amazing amazing. Only flaw was the title cards were too short ;P But the actors were great, terrific. Maddening. Great music, great costuming, great plot. 10 out of 10 stars! With Pleasure!
19. The Great Train Robbery (1903)
TV-G | 11 min | Short, Action, Western

20. Assignment: Rescue (1997)
26 min | Documentary, Short, Biography
An inexperienced American journalist, Varian Fry, rescues thousands of refugees from Vichy France.
weird...watched this in history class and besides being unable to hear anything, is really a lackluster biography/documentary. Meryl Streep sounds like any schoolgirl forced to give a presentation on anything and mainly consisted of only pictures...

Really puts me in the mood to watch some world war two movies. watched the climatic scenes in my apush class, missing out on the rest because the movie is freaking 144 minutes long. actors are decent, very obvious it was a late 60s/early 70s film and accuracy is better than some.
