Votes: 331,438 | Gross: $37.52M
January 23rd. It's good entertainment. Not a great story, though. Lots of predictable jokes, lines and scenes. Great idea for a movie, but poorly used and explored. As a Sci-Fi lover, really disappointed, but that's a common reaction to most blockbuster sci-fis. EDIT: Just remembered a terrible, terrible scene: they open the safe lock with so much ease that hurts. The combination is ridiculously obvious to them but it's completely unlogical and forced. Downgraded a star for that. 5/10

January 23rd. Nice! Overused fast camera effect and some other special effects. Seems like those kids who learn a new word and cannot stop using them. That did not kill the movie, though! 8/10

Votes: 147,356 | Gross: $83.50M
January 23rd. Ugh. What a waste of celluloid. This movie is so bad that not even the hot male cast saves it. Not watchable at all. Seems like those '80s movies, but not in the good way. 4/10

January 23rd. Bored. Spielberg's Schindler's List long, without its epicness. Has a soundtrack of a '30s animated disney movie. Bored as hell. Took 40 minutes for the story to even begin to develop. 3/10

Votes: 37,849 | Gross: $0.09M

A land baron tries to reconnect with his two daughters after his wife is seriously injured in a boating accident.
Votes: 216,808 | Gross: $82.58M
January 30th. Good one. Has a inconsistent speed, though. The first act is so slow as the last one is kinda too fast. Shailene Woodley is amazing. Her performance is way better than Clooney's. Congratulations. Even though the acting is good, the story is not that good. Isn't a rewatchable movie. 6/10
16. Chronicle (2012)

March 4th. After a whole month of not watching any movie, I ended up watching this one, by coincidence. Surprised by not knowing a thing about what I was about to watch (my friend chose it by reading the cinema chart and we got in), I liked it, despite its predictability. Good entertainment and it SURE IS a fulfiller of flying dreams, although the effects on their clothing was not that good. 8/10

Votes: 763,088 | Gross: $408.01M
March 25th. Good entertainment for the tired minds. Although I couldn't read the novel, the movie itself says it's from it. Its gaps screams "there's a novel down here!". Nevertheless, it's a good movie! Would watch it again in the near future - a good way to evaluate movies: asking yourself if you'd watch it again soon. 7/10
18. Melancholia (2011)
R | 135 min | Drama, Fantasy, Sci-Fi
Two sisters find their already strained relationship challenged as a mysterious new planet threatens to collide with Earth.
Votes: 143,891 | Gross: $3.03M
April 29th. Good movie, good special effects, poor attention hanger. Gave me a level of boredom I could not maintain my entire attention. Although its rhythm was bad, I could feel the melancholy of Justine and Claire and IMHO that's what the movie was all about. The ending has a 2-star earning quality! Nevertheless, it could be so much better. Lots of unanswered questions - not questions of the movie, but questions of likelihood. Like the unmodifiable tides, the silence of media - were there even TVs there? -, and such as... Entertainment, though. Not inclined to watching it again in the near future. 6/10
19. The Avengers (2012)
PG-13 | 143 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

Votes: 1,090,955 | Gross: $623.36M
May 26th. Yes, it has been that long since I've seen a movie. Yes, I broke the movie drought with a blockbuster movie. Yes, I saw it on IMAX. No, it was not that good. This movie belongs to my mental shelf entitled "to watch in moody days when significant movies are annoying the *beep* out of you", since its pure entertainment with zero brain food. I got bored. Yes. With IMAX. Well, I must assume: I wasn't expecting some "substance" from the Avengers movie, but I WAS expecting something to wow me. That did not happen. I enjoy these kind of movies, but the Avengers... meh... I think the expectations were too high. Some scenes were merely put there for some jokes, they didn't even try to hide that fact. 6/10
20. Lorenzo's Oil (1992)
PG-13 | 129 min | Drama
A boy develops a disease so rare that nobody is working on a cure, so his father decides to learn all about it and tackle the problem himself.
Votes: 17,964 | Gross: $7.29M
May 27th. I would never say I'd see myself watching such a movie. The thing is: my cellular biology teacher made a citation after a class about fatty acids and my genetics teacher made one too. My friend, from another class, had to watch it for a assignment he had to do. So I decided to watch it with him. He cried. I did not. The only remarkable thing about it is Nick Nolte. The story, though it's real, is not that moving - at least not for me. Don't take me wrong, I cry watching TV series. I'm not that cold type of guy. 5/10
21. Thor (2011)

June 8th. Oh man. I really need to stop thinking that action movies will stop being made for obliterated minds. There isn't even a decent plot! Oh, and I REALLY hate Don Cheadle. REALLY. 5/10

Votes: 311,771 | Gross: $237.28M
July 23rd. That is one of the worst movies I have ever watched. Highly predictable. Highly boring. Highly shameful. I felt ashamed for the creators. Plus the singing. Oh God, why? The only scene I laughed out loud was the one which one of the candidates misses an arrow on the target and has some kind of breakdown. One star for that. 4/10.
27. Hideaways (2011)
88 min | Fantasy, Thriller
James Furlong, motherless, discovered an extraordinary gift by accident which caused the death of his father and his grandmother.
August 9th. Ugh. Tacky and cliché. Love saves it all. I was expecting, at the end, the healing properties of the tears hitting the ground. That, however, did not happen: it was swapped by the healing properties of love - or orgasms, in my opinion. 5/10

Votes: 216,904 | Gross: $65.42M
August 11th. Americans save the world. Again. In a 70 year old destroyer used in Pearl Harbor. Could the plot be more cliché? I don't think so. The stars I'm giving are only for the sci-fi specs I liked. Like sp. effects. 5/10

September 30th. Beautiful, beautiful movie. Went to watch it thankfully to a friend of mine, cousin of the director. The premiere on Rio Int'l Movies Festival was awesome. Beautiful movie. Got even tested for me to see if I still have my movie references mental library intact. 8/10

October 18th. Good! As usual with horror movies, I didn't find it scary at all. Only good entertainment. Nice to watch, thrilling, I thrived for what's was about to happen. And that was good! The people on the cinema room weren't, though. I hate those screaming pussies. 7/10

After Peter Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, he gains newfound, spider-like powers and ventures out to solve the mystery of his parent's mysterious death.
Votes: 495,679 | Gross: $262.03M
November 17th. Ugh, horrible, HORRIBLE movie. Such a waste of time. Horrible story, horrible gaps, horrible actions people would never do! Like leaving tips of whereabouts etcetera. Goh, if you're going to make a reboot of a good film (that's my opinion), make it right! I like how they try to humanize spider-man - they don't make him able to produce his own web, like a Spide-Man videogame I had on PSOne -, but that just didn't come up on the screen right. It was strange and I couldn't adapt myself to it. Some scenes were capable to make me feel ashamed of the director. An antidote machine that produces it with countdown, a big screen AND voice? And that doesn't turn off whereas the WHOLE BUILDING HAD? So many flaws, so many wasted time. One scene I like: "don't make promises you can't keep." But I kinda feel bludgeoned by the rest of it. 3/10

November 17th. Beautiful movie. Watched it on a friend's indication. Without full acknowledge of what was about, it started kinda boring and ended master-piece-fully. What a beautiful good use of celluloid. Beautiful! Très magnifique! 8/10

R | 95 min | Action, Horror, Sci-Fi
Alice fights alongside a resistance movement to regain her freedom from an Umbrella Corporation testing facility.
Votes: 119,379 | Gross: $42.35M

Votes: 240,262 | Gross: $65.00M
December 9th. I decided to watch this already knowing it was going to be a silly movie. It is silly, indeed, but it is so much more than that. It's got a hand of my type of humor. Good humor. Laughed out loud and that's not an easy thing to do when it comes to comedy movies. 8/10
42. Life of Pi (2012)

December 29th. I just typed "29th." and had the longest shivering of my life. I'm still having them while typing this. Nonstop. Tears are coming, I can feel the not on my throat. This movie is one of the best movies I have *ever* seen. In my humble opinion, this movie has one basic function (summing it all up): ensure your faith. Whatever that is. Proof of that it's in what I heard getting out of it: "What's cool in this movie it's the fact that its moral lesson is that God does exist!". He couldn't be more wrong and right at the same time. I kinda feel sorry for him for not seeing the whole picture, but when it comes to terms, who's right? Me? Endorsing is hard. I'll say it: Ang Lee divinized himself with this. Congratu-fuc*ing-lations, my friend. No review I read till now has commented the obvious, so I'll say it: Richard Parker is God. "My fear of him keeps me alert, tending to his needs gives my life purpose". I close this fast fast fast should-not-be-a-review (that does not contain not even 1% of what I have to say) with my whole body shivering, still. 10/10
