This is also a movie that you must really, really concentrate or you'll lose the experience. & just to clarify This, Donnie Darko & Pulp Fiction are all my #1 movies. “ I love this movie, because it's kinda like the texas chain saw massacre, because the movie itself isn't TOO graphic, but still after you've seen this movie you have the feeling that you've just seen something utterly disgusting. Well as many people say is that what you don't see is scarier than what you do see. Also it's, because the movie is (most of the time) quite realistic. Some minuses I have is that i hate jodie foster & especially in this movie, but then again there is anthony hopkins & buffalo bill making up for her. “ This is a brilliantly crafted horror movie crafted by the master Alfred Hitchcock, but for those who say that this is a slasher movie, the anserw in my opinion is that it isn't. Let me explain why, but first the rules of slashers.
1. There must be a derainged killer or just a killer. The killer must be masked or kept in secret for most of the films running time.
Well we definetely got Bates & the killer is kinda kept in secret, but close enough.
2. The killer must most of the time use a knife or a sharp object.
Again, Bates uses a kitchen knife for the most time (if I remember right).
3. There must be an established body count.
Now this could be argued, but I think it doesn't count that in the first part the body count is 1 & later it's 1 (I think). For a couple of things the body counts can't be in different parts of the story (again could be argued) & if going by my theory, 1 isn't a bodycount...
