- DirectorSean S. CunninghamStarsBetsy PalmerAdrienne KingJeannine TaylorA group of teenage camp counselors attempt to re-open an abandoned summer camp with a tragic past, but they are stalked by a mysterious, relentless killer.More than just a horror film that followed the examples of John Carpenter's Halloween, this movie made the summer camp setting popular in horror and used what was back then fresh ideas that evolved into cliches in other horror films that followed.
While other horror flicks had lots of generic or token characters, this film had characters that people can relate with and even care about.
More about the iconic horror villain Jason, he is here but not in the way you might expect.
Lastly, this film is very suspenseful and really scary. - DirectorSteve MinerStarsBetsy PalmerAmy SteelJohn FureyFive years after the events of the first film, a summer camp next to the infamous Camp Crystal Lake is preparing to open, but the legend of Jason is weighing heavy on the proceedings. This sequel is undoubtedly one of the strongest follow-ups to the first film. It is notable for having the big debut of Jason as the on-screen villain. The leading lady, played by Amy Steel, is still one of the most memorable characters to watch in the entire franchise. Unlike other lead characters in the franchise, Ginny (Steel) is smart, thoughtful and mature to watch. Not only that, the rest of the cast are teenagers who feel authentic and can be related with.
- DirectorJoseph ZitoStarsErich AndersonJudie AronsonPeter BartonAfter being announced dead and taken to a morgue, Jason Voorhees spontaneously revives, escapes from the hospital, and stalks a group of friends renting a house in the countryside near Crystal Lake. While it failed to live up to the word "final", this film was an improvement over Part III in terms of story, characters and execution. The stunts are more intense and at the same time the horror factor is stronger. Jason is back obviously only this time he's deadlier and his presence made this flick scarier to watch. The final conflict of the film alone was worth the price of admission and as for Jason, I really think that what happened should have made this film the final chapter.
Honestly speaking, I never liked the more supernatural presentation of Jason in Part V and beyond. - DirectorSteve MinerStarsDana KimmellTracie SavageRichard BrookerJason Voorhees stalks a group of friends who have just arrived to spend the weekend at a cabin near Crystal Lake. The first Friday the 13th movie to be filmed in 3D. The story and the cast are shallower this time around save for the leading girl Chris who revealed that she had a close encounter with an ugly man in the woods some years prior. Also this is the film were Jason gets his hockey mask which went on to become an essential part of his iconic look.
About the kills, you can easily tell that the filmmakers took a lot of inspiration from the most notable kills of the first film.
