After reading a few other members' lists of their favorite TV shows, I decided to compile one for myself, just for fun!

My favorite characters and the actors who play them are (in order): Charlie Pace (Dominic Monaghan); James "Sawyer" Ford (Josh Holloway); Juliet Burke (Elizabeth Mitchell); Desmond Hume (Henry Ian Cusick); Hugo "Hurley" Reyes (Jorge Garcia); Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox); Claire Littleton (Emilie deRavin); Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly); Sayid Jarrah (Naveen Andrews); and Benjamin Linus (Michael Emerson). I think that Josh Holloway and Elizabeth Mitchell were completely robbed of even receiving an Emmy nomination for supporting actors for Season 5, which they completely carried and definitely stood out. ” - JakobGarcia

“ Oops! I had to delete my favorite cartoon, Scooby-Doo, so I could add one more that I forgot about, and also keep the list at 30 shows. The second season of this daring new series, shown on the AMC channel, is about to begin next week. Fans of the horror genre were delighted when this series premiered. Based on a real comic book series, the first season was like one long movie, mainly because there were only six episodes. But also, because it was reminiscent of several zombie horror flicks, like 28 Days Later and Dawn Of The Dead. Looking forward to the second season premiere in one week. ” - JakobGarcia

“ Almost my entire family watches this show and it took me a while to commit to it, but finally I started it on Netflix and got hooked! Currently, at the time I'm adding this to my list, I'm in the middle of Season 3 on Netflix, while Season 5 just started airing a few weeks ago in real time! I have to say I just freakin' love Katey Sagal (Married With Children; 8 Simple Rules) as the badass motorcycle mama Gemma Teller-Morrow, as I've loved her ever since her appearances as John Locke's girlfriend Helen on LOST. But on SONS, she totally steals every scene she's in and she truly is a BADASS!!! As for the rest of the cast, everyone's favorite is usually Charlie Hunnam who plays main character Jackson "Jax" Teller and Maggie Siff who plays his girlfriend Tara Knowles, and I also do love the two of them, but my favorite besides Katey Sagal is Theo Rossi who plays "Juice" Ortiz!! ” - JakobGarcia

Lost inspired me to be a better writer because I admire the show's creators and writers so much, Grey's made me wish I was an intern with such a cool clique and love life, and this one made me wish I had joined the FBI when I was younger and become a profiler!!! My favorites on this show start with Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner (Thomas Gibson); Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler); David Rossi (Joe Mantegna); Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness); Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore); Jennifer "J.J." “ Coming in second, another great drama with plenty of humor, I started watching Grey's right around the same time I began watching Lost. I got to experience both of these shows by watching their first couple of seasons on dvd until I caught up with real time, which I actually prefer anyway since you can watch one right after the other, as many as you want at a time. Just like Lost, this show makes me laugh just as much as it makes me cry, even downright sob (SPOILER ALERT!) when it comes to losing some of television's most memorable characters and actor's exits from the show: Denny Duquette, George O'Malley, etc. My favorite characters and the actors who play them are (again, in order): Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who wasn't even ever a series regular!); Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo); Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey); Isobel "Izzie" Stevens (Katharine Heigl); Alex Karev (Justin Chambers); Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson); Mark Sloan (Eric Dane); Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh); Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh); Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez); Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh); Henry Burton (Scott Foley); Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw); Teddy Altman (Kim Raver); Tyler the nurse (Moe Irvin); George O'Malley (T.R. Knight); Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington); and Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr.) Chandra Wilson should have at least 20 award statues if you ask me and I was thrilled when Katharine Heigl won her Emmy but where are the Emmy awards for some of the other cast members? Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey have created such memorable characters who will forever be a part of television's history, as well as Kate Walsh, Justin Chambers, Sara Ramirez, Jessica Capshaw...just to name a few of Emmy worthy performers! ” - JakobGarcia

“ I had to start this one from the beginning after I watched the finale of Season 2 with my sister the night the finale aired because it was so good that I cried and I hadn't even ever seen an episode before that! And she was responsible for suggesting Lost and Grey's to me so I trust her judgment on shows and I think she feels the same about me. I love every single character on this show so it's hard to name favorites but Sarah Braverman (Lauren Graham) does definitely stand out. Her comic relief as well as her dramatic tones touch me to my very soul and I often wonder how I would have felt had Maura Tierney (Abby from ER) actually played the role since she was originally cast but had to drop out due to illness at the time. She was one of my top faves on ER though so I'm sure I would have loved her but Lauren is soooooo this character! ” - JakobGarcia

“ This little gem was recommended to me and I finally listened to this friend and watched it through Netflix! I'm so happy I did but sad that it only lasted for three seasons. I even got my sister hooked on it and we both finished all three seasons pretty quickly. SPOILER ALERT HERE: We didn't really see the love story coming between Veronica (Kristen Bell) and her arch-nemesis Logan (Jason Dohring) but it was such a pleasant and enjoyable surprise for that series. If you've never seen this show, WATCH IT!!!
P.S. They tipped their hats to Lost, who was their competition actually being on the air on the same night, in one episode, by having Veronica's lucky numbers in her fortune cookie be the same as Hurley's winning lottery numbers on Lost! 4 8 15 16 23 42

“ The first season of American Horror Story was like watching one long horror movie! And it was a good one!!! Seems like it was jumping on the success of The Walking Dead, however this show featured several guest stars in a season that wrapped up its storyline by the final episode and Season 2 will be a whole new story with a whole new cast. I have read that a few cast members may return in different roles however, mainly Jessica Lange who won several awards for her role as creepy neighbor Constance in Season 1. She was awesome and it was great to see her on a TV show and another standout actor from this show was Evan Peters who played her son, Tate. ” - JakobGarcia

“ This has to go down as my all time favorite sitcom I think. I quote it all the time. I miss it all the time. I have several friends who loved it just as much as me as well as my whole family. I loved all six of them equally and I think it is ridiculous that only a couple of them won Emmy awards for it! They all crafted their characters so well that in every day life people will call other people names from this show if they are acting a certain way or whatever...(Like, "OMG you are soooo Monica!!! “ This show is actually responsible for my sister, mom, cousin, and I all getting hooked on it, and Without A Trace, and Criminal Minds because all three shows are shown several times a day on a cable network called ION! But this one starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, whom I've always loved since Party Of Five and the 90's horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer, we discovered first. Hewitt's character, Melinda Gordon, is so easy to love because she has nothing but good intentions with her "special powers". Basically, she can see dead people!! And I absolutely love David Conrad who plays her husband, Jim. SPOILER ALERT COMING!!!! There's not much of a supporting cast besides the two of them except for Melinda's best friend in the first season, played by Aisha Tyler, known for a recurring gig on Friends. I loved Tyler's character and never understood why they "wrote" her off the show, or if she left by choice, but she is replaced by a new friend for the show's two main characters. Camryn Manheim joined the show in season 2 and the show went on for a total five seasons. Jay Mohr and Jamie Kennedy were also series' regulars in different seasons both playing likable characters. The best thing about this show though was that in each one, Melinda encountered a new ghost or ghosts with their own story or stories which she helped solve and put to rest. Similar to the other shows I mentioned, each episode was like a new case, and there was suspense, humor, and heartbreak. Loved every minute of it! ” - JakobGarcia

“ This crime drama is another one I watched this past year and is actually what led me to check out Criminal Minds, which I love even more. Again, my sister discovered this one first and kept suggesting it to me. At first, I caught a few episodes at her house since she was watching them in order through the reruns they air of it on one of our cable channels. Eventually, I started recording them and became hooked. This show is sometimes fulfilling in a positive way but then in some episodes becomes gritty because the general plotlines involve cases that the missing persons unit of the FBI investigate. This cast is great too, like Criminal Minds, and stars Anthony LaPaglia, who I think is a very underrated actor, as Agent Jack Malone, not to mention I often joke that he could play my father if anyone were to ever make a TV movie about my dad's life! I also love the supporting cast: Poppy Montgomery as Agent Samantha Spade; Eric Close as Agent Martin Fitzgerald; Enrique Murciano as Agent Danny Taylor; Roselyn Sanchez as Agent Elena Delgado; and Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Agent Vivian Johnson. ” - JakobGarcia

However, ER came first, and it seemed like a much more darker drama, which makes me know why I love Grey's more, because it makes me laugh and the characters are actually happy sometimes. ER got to be too depressing for me and I eventually gave up on it. Loved Noah Wyle as Carter, Maura Tierney as Abby, Anthony Edwards as Mark Greene, Goran Visnijic as Luka, Mekhi Phifer as Pratt, Kellie Martin as Lucy Knight (R.I.P.), and even Laura Innes as Weaver and her cane! ” - JakobGarcia

“ Here is my favorite guilty pleasure of all time, along with its spin-off, Melrose Place. Beverly Hills, 90210 was huge in its heyday. Face it people!!! The stars of the show were mauled by fans at malls and personal appearances. And I was one of those fans, although I never got to see them in person. We all know the familiar tune of the theme song...we all remember the Walsh's from Minnesota experiencing culture shock when they moved to Beverly Hills. Once the show really took off, during a brilliant move by the producers by airing new episodes during the summer, its stars became overnight sensations. Jason Priestley and Shannen Doherty played the Walsh twins, Brandon and Brenda. They found new lifelong friendships and heartache amongst the rich and spoiled at West Beverly High School including Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering), Andrea Zuckerman (Gabrielle Carteris), David Silver (Brian Austin Green), and Donna Martin (Tori Spelling). And then they introduced in the second episode, their biggest teen heartthrob, bad boy Dylan McKay, played by Luke Perry. The show went on for a decade, amidst controversy, tabloids, and cast members coming and going. At one point, future Oscar winner Hilary Swank even joined the cast in one of the final seasons as a girlfriend for Steve. As for the cast, Shannen Doherty never quite escaped the stigma from all the bad press she got after some backstage squabbling, and she left after the fourth season. She's remained one of the more famous of all of them, even returned to TV later in Charmed. Tori Spelling gained notoriety as well after making headlines by a fallout with her mother. (Her father is "the" Aaron Spelling) and recently she's starring in her own reality show. Jennie Garth is married to one of the Cullen's of the Twilight franchise! She married Peter Facinelli years ago, and he later went on to play the surrogate father to the teen vampires of Twilight, Dr. Cullen. Brian Austin Green has remained in the spotlight, but mostly for his on again/off again romance with Megan Fox. Gabrielle Carteris and Luke Perry both guest starred on one of my more current faves, Criminal Minds. Ian Ziering was last seen as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, and Jason Priestley has kind of fallen off the map! And he was the first billed star of 90210! ” - JakobGarcia

“ The 90210 spin-off, as it was known, started out kinda slow and lame. A show that could have been titled Twentysomething, finally took off after Aaron Spelling added Heather Locklear to the cast which was otherwise a group of unknowns. Spelling considered Locklear to be his good luck charm, and with Melrose he was right! By the end of the first season, what started out with dismal ratings ended with all the storylines suddenly spiced up and entertaining. Suddenly, Melrose was the "water cooler" show. I was a part of a clique of friends who all got together on Mondays for our weekly Melrose fix, watching the show and drinking beers and having a blast. The show became a hit by having its characters all start sleeping around, fighting, backstabbing, bitching about one another...going from one romance to the next but revolving around these 8 or 9 series regulars. I loved my Melrose days but sadly its glitz and glamour started to fade and the stories got too farfetched and the revolving door for the cast just kept spinning. However, Melrose will always be a part of pop culture phenomena, and I will always count it as one of my all time favorite guilty pleasures! My favorites were Heather Locklear as "the bitch" as she was dubbed, landlord Amanda Woodward; Thomas Calabro as sleazy cheater Michael Mancini; Josie Bissett as the innocent wife Jane Mancini; Grant Show as hot biker Jake Hanson; Laura Leighton as bad girl Sydney Andrews; Andrew Shue (brother of the Karate Kid's Elisabeth Shue) as good guy Billy Campbell; and Marcia Cross as resident psycho Kimberly Shaw. ” - JakobGarcia

“ Since we were talking about Jennifer Love Hewitt, I remembered another old favorite of mine from the 90's...Party Of Five. Sometimes 'Five' was a bit too sad or depressing but mostly it was touching and emotional. The five main characters, all siblings, were working hard to keep their family together after the loss of their parents in a car accident. This show also introduced me to another favorite star of mine, Matthew Fox (Lost), as the oldest brother, Charlie Salinger. This show lasted six years, ending in 2000, so then four years later is when Fox resurfaced on what was then the most anticipated new series to come along in a long time...and Lost was born with Fox as its hero! Back to Party Of Five though, Matthew struggled with having to be the hero to his four younger siblings, played by Scott Wolf as Bailey; Neve Campbell as Julia; Lacey Chabert as Claudia; and the fifth was baby Owen, in the latter years played by Jacob Smith. Wolf is currently starring in the hit series' remake of V alongside Fox's former co-star from Lost, Elizabeth Mitchell. (Notice how I delve into Lost any chance I get) Neve Campbell landed a major role in the horror genre, Sidney Prescott, the heroine of the Scream films. Lacey Chabert tried horror also with Black Christmas but also with roles in Not Another Teen Movie and Mean Girls. Jennifer Love Hewitt joined the cast of Party of Five in the second season as Sarah, the love interest for Bailey, and stayed on through the end of the series. ” - JakobGarcia

“ This one took me a while to ever give it a chance but thanks to Family Video during some cold wintery weather on a few days off in a row, I had a good marathon with this show and became another guilty pleasure....it's kind of like a 2007ish Beverly Hills, 90210/Melrose Place/Party Of Five rolled up together!! I love Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick as Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass!! One highlight was when Katie Cassidy (The new Melrose Place; Harper's Island; the new Nightmare On Elm Street; Black Christmas; When A Stranger Calls; Taken; and Monte Carlo which she starred in with Leighton Meester) joined the cast for part of a season as Juliet. ” - JakobGarcia

“ After 90210 and Melrose, Aaron Spelling cast us with another spell, that of his next show called Charmed about three sisters who were all witches, similar to the cult movie hit The Craft. And in his latest drama he cast Shannen Doherty from 90210 and Alyssa Milano from Melrose as two of the Halliwell sisters, Prue and Phoebe. Holly Marie Combs from Picket Fences rounded out the trio as their other sister, Piper. The tabloids and controversy found Doherty once again eventually stating she and Milano did not get along off-screen, and after the third season Doherty left. SPOILER ALERT AGAIN! To explain her exit, the show killed off Prue, the oldest sister. And similar to how they moved on after Doherty's exit from 90210 after its fourth season, the producers brought in another familiar actress to fill the void, just like before. On 90210, they replaced Brenda's shoes with a character who was supposed to be a friend from back home, Valerie, played by Tiffani-Amber Thiessen from Saved By The Bell. On Charmed, they brought in Rose McGowan, Neve Campbell's co-star from Scream, as another sister they didn't know existed! ” - JakobGarcia

One of my old 80's faves, I grew up with a crush on Milano, who played tomboyish Samantha Micelli, but also one on Danza, who played her father, handsome ex-baseball player Tony Micelli!!! “ Actually, this may have been my earliest favorite...I loved and still do love The Brady's! I love that it makes mine and my family's annual trip to Kings Island amusement park in Ohio even more special since they filmed an episode there in their final season! And this point came up recently in a discussion about the Brady's: my favorite of the three girls was always Jan. I thought she was the cutest and more or less grew up with a crush on her rather than Marcia, which is who most men say they was their TV crush growing up. I actually hated how they portrayed the Jan character in the Brady movie years later. It was funny but kind of disturbing for me! “ My dream came true: they gave Anne Heche her own series!!! Too bad it didn't last longer! They gave it a good effort though, it lasted for two seasons. This show was kind of like Sex and The City meets Northern Exposure. Anne Heche proved once again her flair for comedy, much like she did in the movie Six Days, Seven Nights, as she played writer Marin Frist. Her character was very similar to Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and The City and there was also a central romance on the show between her character and this little Alaskan town's main hunk, Jack, played by James Tupper. In real life, Heche fell in love with Tupper and I believe they got married and she had her second child with him, another boy. ” - JakobGarcia

We propped the portable dvd player up on the open door of the glove compartment and enjoyed several episodes along our six hour drive! Fortunately, this show is so funny you can enjoy it by listening to it and watching it with glances (I had to drive since my brother was injured and we were on our way to the Mayo clinic!) Once we got back I actually purchased a few seasons for myself. Raymond's parents, Frank and Marie, are the real highlight of this show.
