Palme d'Or - Cannes Film Festival

From 1939 to 1954 (from numbers 1 to 19), the highest prize of the festival was known as Grand Prix du Festival International du Film.

From 1955 to 1966 (from numbers 20 to 29), the highest prize was awarded with the name Palme d'Or.

In 1964 (number 30) copyright issues with the Palme led the Festival to return to the Grand Prix du Festival International du Film, which remained that way until 1974 (number 42).

In 1975 (number 43) the Palme d'Or was reintroduced and has since remained the top prize of the festival.
