Often overlooked classic British slasher from the early 70's, extremely nasty considering the time it was made. Loved the very intense Ian Bannen as the psychotic killer
2. The Fly (1958)
Not Rated | 94 min | Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi
A scientist has a horrific accident when he tries to use his newly invented teleportation device.
Votes: 17,555 | Gross: $3.00M
Of course Cronenberg's remake is a fantastic film, but this is just a classic, special effects that are some what laughable these days back then were absolutely terrifying i'm sure. Made the following year in black and white was Return of the Fly, i actually find it to be slightly better than the original
3. The Bat (1959)
Approved | 80 min | Horror, Thriller, Mystery
A crazed killer known as "The Bat" is on the loose in a mansion full of people.
Very cool little who done it movie, the actual character of the Bat is very creepy with being dressed in black, those gloves with the razor blades on the end of each finger and that hat
4. The Tingler (1959)
Not Rated | 82 min | Horror
An obsessed pathologist discovers and captures a parasitic creature that grows when fear grips its host.
A very silly unique movie, we also get to see Vincent Price dropping some acid haha and another very cool bit is that the film is shot in black and white but has one scene during an LSD trip where a bath tub is filled up with red blood and a hand coming up from underneath the water. Terrific stuff
5. House of Usher (1960)
Not Rated | 79 min | Drama, Horror
Upon entering his fiancée's family mansion, a man discovers a savage family curse and fears that his future brother-in-law has entombed his bride-to-be prematurely.
It's all about the atmosphere in this one, very dark and dreary tale about a family curse. Loved the trippy dream sequence
6. Pit and the Pendulum (1961)
Not Rated | 80 min | Drama, Horror, Mystery
In the sixteenth century, Francis Barnard travels to Spain to clarify the strange circumstances of his sister's death after she had married the son of a cruel Spanish Inquisitor.
Votes: 10,281 | Gross: $2.00M
Loved the unpredictable nature of this film, the first time i watched it i didn't have a clue what was coming up next or what was going to happen at the end
7. Tales of Terror (1962)
Not Rated | 89 min | Comedy, Horror, Mystery
Three tales of terror involve a grieving widower and the daughter he abandoned; a drunkard and his wife's black cat; and a hypnotist who prolongs the moment of a man's death.
Roger Corman directed these 3 stories based around Edgar Allan Poe's writings. Excellent little anthology horror introduced by Vincent Price who also has a part in each story. My favourite of the three would have to be "The Black Cat" because of the characters of the mean drunk and the wonderfully charming wine expert played by Price
8. Tower of London (1962)
Not Rated | 79 min | Drama, History, Horror
The twisted Richard III is haunted by the ghosts of those he has murdered in his attempt to become the King of England.
Richard 3rd has always been my favourite of Shakespeares plays so i absolutely loved this. Excellent classic type score
9. The Raven (1963)
G | 86 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror
A magician, who has been turned into a raven, turns to a former sorcerer for help.
I think Vincent Price and Peter Lorre made a great comedic duo, throw in Boris Karloff and you get this wonderful little comedy/horror very loosely based on the poem by Edgar Allan Poe
10. The Comedy of Terrors (1963)
Not Rated | 84 min | Comedy, Horror
Dishonest undertaker Waldo Trumbull and his sidekick Felix Gillie are creating their own customers when they cannot find willing ones.
Those three great actors return in an even funnier movie with Basil Rathbone hilariously over acting the entire time
11. The Haunted Palace (1963)
Not Rated | 87 min | Horror
Charles Dexter Ward arrives at a small village to visit the house he inherited from his ancestor who died there 100 years ago.
One of the lesser know Corman/Price movies but just as good in my opinion
12. Diary of a Madman (1963)
Approved | 96 min | Horror
An evil spirit leaves the body of his human host, a criminal on death-row, and sneaks into the body of his next human host, a French magistrate.
Truly under rated Price performance, lot of cool effects in this
13. Twice-Told Tales (1963)
Approved | 120 min | Horror, Mystery, Romance
Three horror stories based on the writings of Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the first story titled "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment", Heidegger attempts to restore the youth of himself, his fiancee ... See full summary »
Cracker little anthology horror with Price in every story :) the first short entitled Dr. Heidegger's Experiment was definitely my favourite, just thought it was very morbid and eerie and i must say i loved the little twist towards the end. The second story called Rappaccini's Daughter was actually very heartbreaking, the third called The House of the Seven Gables is a good old fashioned haunted house story which is made very well, there's a great scene where the walls start dripping blood
14. The Masque of the Red Death (1964)
Not Rated | 89 min | Horror
A European prince terrorizes the local peasantry while using his castle as a refuge against the "Red Death" plague that stalks the land.
Wonderfully lavish sets and costumes in this trippy film, they really don't make them like these anymore
15. The Tomb of Ligeia (1964)
Not Rated | 82 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller
A man's obsession with his dead wife drives a wedge between him and his new bride.
Probably the strangest of the Price/Corman movies but still effective enough to be a creepy watch. Hard to follow at times though
16. The Last Man on Earth (1964)
Not Rated | 86 min | Horror, Sci-Fi
When a disease turns all of humanity into the living dead, the last man on earth becomes a reluctant vampire hunter.
Depressing vampire/zombie movie based on the book 'I am Legend' Price does an excellent job considering he is alone most of the time. Obviously a huge inspiration to Romero's Night of the Living Dead film a few years later
17. House of 1,000 Dolls (1967)
90 min | Crime, Thriller
When a vacationing couple in Tangiers run into an old friend there, they discover that he is searching for his missing girlfriend who has been kidnapped by an international gang of white ... See full summary »
Nice late 60's exploitation film featuring Vincent Price as a magician, very odd little film may not be for everyone's taste
18. The Conqueror Worm (1968)
Unrated | 86 min | Biography, Drama, Horror
A young soldier seeks to put an end to the evils caused by a vicious witch hunter.
Price's own personal favourite performance, it's definitely up there he plays an absolute bastard in this one, although it would be deemed tame by today's standards it caused quite a stir when it first came out for it's violence, was cut to pieces so i would recommend watching the totally uncut version
19. The Oblong Box (1969)
R | 96 min | Horror
Aristocrat Julian Markham keeps his disfigured brother, Sir Edward, locked in a tower of his house. Sir Edward occasionally escapes and causes havoc around the town.
Very enjoyable adaptation of an Edgar Allan Poe story
20. Scream and Scream Again (1970)
R | 95 min | Crime, Drama, Horror
A serial killer who drains his victims' blood is on the loose in London; the police follow him to a house owned by an eccentric scientist.
First thing, don't be fooled into thinking this is a film with Price, Lee and Cushing as the three actors with the most screen time in this, that couldn't be further from the truth. Price doesn't prominently come into it until the last half hour, Lee only has a handful of scenes and Cushing only has the one. That being said i quite enjoyed the whole mystery to this one, had a bit of a mixture of being a modern day Frankenstein story mixed in with a bit of vampirism and a crime thriller. The musical score was so out of place i found it absolutely hilarious
21. Cry of the Banshee (1970)
GP | 91 min | Horror
In Elizabethan England, a wicked lord massacres nearly all the members of a coven of witches, earning the enmity of their leader, Oona. Oona calls up a magical servant, a "banshee", to ... See full summary »
Although it feels like a poor man's Witchfinder General, it's still highly entertaining with some very cool shots and a unbelievably great finale
22. The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)
PG-13 | 94 min | Comedy, Horror
A doctor, scientist, organist, and biblical scholar, Anton Phibes, seeks revenge on the nine doctors he considers responsible for his wife's death.
The film in my opinion had a huge influence in the making of Se7en, highly original and still to this day looks very cool. Although there is a lot of comical moments the revenge itself is quite nasty in nature. The sequel Dr Phibes rises again definitely has it's shortcomings but worth the watch all the same, lot of cool kills. Peter Cushing also has a short cameo
23. Theater of Blood (1973)
R | 104 min | Comedy, Drama, Horror
A Shakespearean actor takes poetic revenge on the critics who denied him recognition.
I would still watch this movie if it was just Vincent Price reciting Shakespeare but add a bit of killing and some very creative Shakespearean type death sequences this is truly one of his best
24. Madhouse (1974)
PG | 89 min | Crime, Horror, Mystery
A horror movie star returns to his famous role after years in a mental institution. But the character seems to be committing murders independent of his will.
Horror favourites Vincent Price and Peter Cushing in the same movie :) criminally under rated in my opinion, i've always loved films that were kinda movies set on a movie set or following a certain actor. Loved the scene were Price was being interviewed by Michael Parkinson haha classic stuff
25. The Monster Club (1981)
Unrated | 104 min | Comedy, Horror
A writer of horror stories is invited to a "monster club" by a mysterious old gentleman. There, three gruesome stories are told to him; between each story some musicians play their songs.
Just a very fun horror anthology. Let down sadly by the third film which was just too confusing but the musical performances between each story sure did make up for that. Personal highlight was Vincent Price dancing with a fat girl at the end
26. House of the Long Shadows (1983)
PG | 100 min | Comedy, Horror, Mystery
An American writer goes to a remote Welsh manor on a $20,000 bet: can he write a classic novel like "Wuthering Heights" in twenty-four hours? Upon his arrival, however, the writer discovers... See full summary »
This is what we want to see with a film with horror legends Price, Cushing, Lee and Carradine. Just a lot of fun with a very cool twist at the end
27. The Quatermass Xperiment (1955)
78 min | Horror, Sci-Fi
Professor Bernard Quatermass' manned rocket ship returns to Earth, but two of the astronauts are missing and the survivor seems ill and unable to communicate.
The film that started the legendary production company Hammer down the road of horror/sci-fi movies. This is truly one of the best 1950's science fiction stories.
28. The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
Approved | 82 min | Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Victor Frankenstein builds a creature and brings it to life, but it behaves not as he intended.
Votes: 7,399 | Gross: $7.00M
Probably my favourite version of the classic horror story, i just love the Hammer Frankenstein films because they focus more on the character of Baron Frankenstein rather than of the monster itself. Makes for a much more engaging franchise in my opinion
29. The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958)
Unrated | 90 min | Horror
Baron Frankenstein escapes from the guillotine and goes to Germany. There, he names himself Dr. Stein and plans to restart his experiments by using parts of dead bodies.

All throughout the series i had a sympathetic view to Baron Frankenstein but in this he just turned into a complete bastard haha didn't stop me loving it any less though, near enough as good as the first
33. Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974)
R | 93 min | Horror
Baron Frankenstein works with a mental patient to reanimate the dead.
What a great way to finish the series with Frankenstein being the doctor in an insane asylum, just great fun and Terence Fisher's last feature film before he died
34. Horror of Dracula (1958)
Not Rated | 82 min | Horror
Jonathan Harker begets the ire of Count Dracula after he accepts a job at the vampire's castle under false pretenses.
Again Hammer produce my favourite retelling of the classic Bram Stoker tale, Peter Cushing completely stole the show as Dr. Van Helsing
35. The Brides of Dracula (1960)
Unrated | 85 min | Horror
Vampire hunter Van Helsing returns to Transylvania to destroy handsome bloodsucker Baron Meinster, who has designs on beautiful young schoolteacher Marianne.
Not Christopher Lee in this one but 5 minutes you'll realise it doesn't matter even slightly, a great watch
36. Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
Unrated | 90 min | Horror
Dracula is resurrected, preying on four unsuspecting visitors to his castle.
Votes: 7,434 | Gross: $0.80M
Took 8 years for Christopher Lee to agree to do another Dracula film, a tad bit disappointing in my opinion but a decent little sequel all the same, enjoyed the ending a lot and the actor who played the badass priest
37. Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968)
G | 92 min | Drama, Fantasy, Horror
When Castle Dracula is exorcised by the Monsignor, it accidentally brings the Count back from the dead. Dracula follows the Monsignor back to his hometown, preying on the holy man's beautiful niece and her friends.
Great improvement on Prince of Darkness in my opinion, had a lot of comical moments which only heightened the enjoyment of this

R | 91 min | Drama, Fantasy, Horror

Christopher Lee apparently didn't like this Dracula film but i thought it was great fun, the first Hammer Horror to be given an R rating and i thought the character who played Sarah was absolutely stunning
40. Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972)
PG | 96 min | Horror
Johnny Alucard raises Count Dracula from the dead in London in 1972. The Count goes after the descendants of Van Helsing.
Peter Cushing comes back to the Dracula series!!! a lot of people slam this movie for trying to be too modern but that is exactly the reason i loved it, as much as i love the previous 5 installments it really was going nowhere. At least they tried something different and i really enjoyed the whole swinging 60's English vibe going
41. The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973)
R | 87 min | Horror
In London in the 1970s, Scotland Yard police investigators think they have uncovered a case of vampirism. They call in an expert vampire researcher named Van Helsing (a descendant of the ... See full summary »

42. The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (1974)
R | 83 min | Action, Horror
While lecturing in China, Van Helsing agrees to help seven kung fu trained siblings reclaim their ancestral mountain village, now the domain of seven powerful vampires and their army of undead slaves.
AKA The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires which by the way is a far, far cooler title. Kung Fu Vampires haha my prayers were finally answered this film absolutely rules, Peter Cushing returns as Van Helsing against Dracula not played by Lee but that doesn't matter as soon as the action gets started. This was made at a time when sadly Hammer was on it's way out. In an attempt to revive the company they teamed up with the Shaw brothers who made a lot of cool kung fu movies and created this cult classic
43. The Abominable Snowman (1957)
85 min | Adventure, Horror
A kindly English botanist and a gruff American scientist lead an expedition to the Himalayas in search of the legendary Yeti.
Think the black and white in this film is absolutely beautiful, very tense as well
44. The Mummy (1959)
Unrated | 88 min | Adventure, Horror
In 1895, British archaeologists find and open the tomb of Egyptian Princess Ananka with nefarious consequences.
Although not quite as good as Karloff's in 1932, this still is an enjoyable watch especially for Hammer fans

PG | 94 min | Horror

Wonderful Hammer Mummy film, don't turn this film off even though not much is found out in this movie until the final third. Worth it alone for the beauty of Valerie Leon :)
47. The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
Not Rated | 87 min | Horror, Mystery
When a nobleman is threatened by a family curse on his newly inherited estate, detective Sherlock Holmes is hired to investigate.
Hammer have a go at the age old Sherlock Holmes tale, what makes this movie is the wonderful acting of Peter Cushing in the starring role, also having Christopher Lee doesn't hurt any as well haha
48. The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)

50. The Gorgon (1964)
Approved | 83 min | Horror
In the early 20th century, a Gorgon takes human form and terrorizes a small European village by turning its citizens to stone.
Not a classic for the simple reason of the creature's appearance wasn't realistic enough but a nice little time waster all the same
51. Die! Die! My Darling! (1965)
TV-14 | 97 min | Horror, Thriller
A young woman is terrorized by her deceased fiancé's demented mother who blames her for her son's death.
One of Hammer's finest psychological thrillers with outstanding performances, i was literally on my feet cheering for the lead actress during the finale, also features a very weird performance by Donald Sutherland, surprisingly rarely seen movie

As the plague sweeps the countryside, a quarantined village is visited by a mysterious traveling circus. Soon, young children begin to disappear, and the locals suspect the circus troupe might be hiding a horrifying secret.
Vampirism mixed in with a bizarre circus, how can this go wrong. A lot of very cool carnie characters including a strong man and a midget. Definitely one of Hammer's more under rated movies
65. Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (1974)
R | 91 min | Adventure, Horror, Mystery
A master swordsman and former soldier and his hunchbacked assistant hunt vampires.
Very cool vampire film with the gorgeous Caroline Munro

R | 95 min | Horror

67. Wake Wood (2009)
R | 90 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller
The parents of a girl who was killed by a savage dog are granted the opportunity to spend three days with their deceased daughter.
Modern Hammer productions film and what a good film it is. Being Irish its nice to see films being made here, in my opinion there's not enough of them.
68. Hei tai yang 731 (1988)
Not Rated | 105 min | Drama, History, Horror
Japanese troops round up Chinese and Russian prisoners of war and take them to a place called Squadron 731, where they are grotesquely tortured and experimented on to test new biological weapons.
What i liked about this extremely disturbing Asian war film is that the controversial scenes in the movie weren't simply put there just for shock value but the director was actually trying to tell a story and get a point across. The acting should also be given credit, it made you actually care for the people involved.
Unrated | 96 min | Comedy, Crime, Horror
Cops investigate a criminal running an unsuspecting restaurant, while trying to trace the steps back to how he ended up running it suddenly.
Not strictly horror but a handful of disturbing scenes makes this a very horrifying watch, especially the family slaughter scene towards the end. Very rare however for a film this disturbing is the dark humour sprinkled all over it. Anthony Wong plays one of the best psychos i've ever seen. Highly recommended!!!
70. Yi boh lai beng duk (1996)
Not Rated | 98 min | Comedy, Crime, Horror

73. Bijitâ Q (2001 Video)
R | 84 min | Comedy, Drama, Horror
A troubled and perverted family find their lives intruded by a mysterious stranger who seems to help find a balance in their disturbing natures.
Takashi Miike directs probably one of the strangest films i've ever seen. Very slow burning but strangely compelling at the same time. Some people may find this disturbing to watch but i actually though it was hilarious especially the last 20 minutes or so, my sides were hurting i was laughing so much haha
74. Irreversible (2002)
Not Rated | 97 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery
Events over the course of one traumatic night in Paris unfold in reverse-chronological order as the beautiful Alex is brutally raped and beaten by a stranger in the underpass.
Votes: 97,954 | Gross: $0.75M
Although not strictly speaking a straight up horror film it has two scenes in particular which are very disturbing and horrifying to watch. A completely one of a kind movie about a rape of a girl then her boyfriend and ex looking for the man who done it all in reverse. Absolutely loved the ending as well, on one side it couldn't be happier but we know that is just the start of the story
75. August Underground's Mordum (2003 Video)
Unrated | 77 min | Horror
Two friends bring along a newcomer to go on a killing spree.
Feel compelled to include this twisted little flick, whilst it's in no way a good movie i can kind of respect the filmmakers for definitely achieving what they set out to do and that was to make the most sick, vile and twisted bit of film out there
76. Murder-Set-Pieces (2004)
R | 105 min | Horror
Tells the story of a fashion photographer whose vocation is murder.
Don't know what the whole uproar was about this film, i didn't find it disturbing in the least, i actually thought it was pretty *beep* cool. Seemed more gory and bloody but definitely not disturbing
77. The Bunny Game (2011)
Not Rated | 76 min | Horror
A prostitute looking for her next meal hitches a ride with a trucker that leaves her praying for her next breath.

78. Colin (2008)
Not Rated | 97 min | Action, Drama, Horror
Our hero Colin is bitten by a Zombie; he dies and returns from the dead. We follow him as he wanders through suburbia during the throes of a cadaverous apocalypse.
Just goes to show you what you can do with £45, an original story, a director who knows what he's doing and an especially talented actor in the main role. Excellent stuff!!!
79. Garden of Love (2003)
Unrated | 86 min | Horror, Thriller
A woman whose family was brutally murdered when she was little is instructed by her family's ghosts to bring the killers to them so their souls can rest in peace.
From the director of one of my favourite gore films Premutos, this one definitely doesn't disappoint. Sure the acting leaves a lot to be desired and the plot is very, very silly but its just an extremely fun, entertaining movie
80. The Incredible Melting Man (1977)
R | 84 min | Horror, Sci-Fi
An astronaut is transformed into a murderous gelatinous mass after returning from an ill-fated space voyage.
Imdb rating 3.2, that's completely ridiculous in my opinion, it deserves more than that for the special effects alone, outstanding for the time period it was made in. Highlight of the whole film though is when one of the lead characters decides he wants to take the time to complain about the lack of crackers in the house

Excellent little sci fi/creature feature starring a very young Seth Green, but the show stealer for me was Alfonso Ribiero AKA Carlton Banks in the Fresh Prince haha, the funny part was that he was playing a tough inner city character, a complete opposite to what we're used to. Some great practical special effects as well

R.I.P David Hess!!! was having a look through his films and i can't believe i hadn't seen this very under rated Italian exploitation film starring the man himself playing the most sleaziest man on the planet as usual haha great performance as well by Franco Nero, another legend of the exploitation genre
