A thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover up.

Director: Olatunde Osunsanmi | Stars: Milla Jovovich, Elias Koteas, Will Patton, Hakeem Kae-Kazim

Votes: 66,733 | Gross: $25.46M

This is a pretty good film. I'm kind of a sucker for films shot from the perspective of a camcorder or similar recording device (as you'll see in the rest of my list!!

The bizarre and musical tale of a girl who travels to another dimension through the gateway found in her family's basement.

Director: Richard Elfman | Stars: Hervé Villechaize, Susan Tyrrell, Gisele Lindley, Jan Stuart Schwartz

Votes: 3,868

In my opinion, this is one of the best (and weirdest) musicals ever made. A definite must-see for those who enjoy Danny Elfman and the Mystic Knights.

Director: Karyn Kusama | Stars: Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, Johnny Simmons

Votes: 99,151 | Gross: $16.20M

Truthfully, this is an extremely underrated film. How many times have we seen a girl [in horror movies], possessed by a demon, strapped to a bed, while some octogenarian priest recites latin? Far too many times, I believe. In this film, Jennifer would tie YOU to a bed, and recite latin to you, and you'd like it...'til the very end. An excellent film!

Director: Tom Holland | Stars: Catherine Hicks, Chris Sarandon, Alex Vincent, Brad Dourif

Votes: 69,338 | Gross: $33.24M

This is a pretty effective horror film. It's always great to see Chucky doing his thing without unnecessary and cheesy comedy. Well, yeah, there is humor, but it's good and it's sparse.

Director: John Carpenter | Stars: Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, Keith David, Richard Masur

Votes: 293,112 | Gross: $13.78M

This is by far one of, if not the, best horror film remake ever made. The mood is just terrifying. A truly inspired vision, depicting hell on earth, via an effective and hard-to-fight alien.

By and large, this is one of the goriest, funniest, strangest, and craziest martial arts pictures ever made. Not for the faint of heart, but certainly for those with girded-loins.
