Even after the fourth time seeing this movie, it impresses me again. Parents and peers can influence youngsters in unforeseen ways, starting with a simple conversation at dinner.
Legendary scene is of course the teeth on the curb followed by the kick at the back of the head. ” - klontenkoker
Second time as impressive as the first. Youngsters going criminal, treating life without any respect including their own. Thats probably what a lack of opportunity does with people? ” - klontenkoker
Two hoodlums grow up to become a new generation of gangsters. They buy buildings by cashing the rent, cleaning the buildings of drug dealers and prostitutes and by not payin the owners. They therefore cannot pay their debts and the buildings are foreclosed and cheap to buy. They learned the trick of the trade as small time criminals, carjacking for a local gangster.
A police officer chasing him finally gets his opportunity when Lucky allows drugs to be sold in his building. He is arrested but escapes.
"Therre is crime behind every fortune. The bigger the fortune, the bigger the crime." ” - klontenkoker
Third time I saw this movie. Knowing that three of the actors are caught extorting and mafiaing in real life adds a sixth storyline to the five in the movie. You become what you grow up with. Easy money selling drugs, robbing each other and intimidate tour neighbours, so why bother having an education and get a job? ” - klontenkoker
The kingpin, Jimmy, assings Craig (no name in movie) to find the daughter of a friend and to sell extacy pills. Trying to sell stolen extacypils might be worth reconsidering, especially when they are stolen from the serbian maffia. Duke, the one wo stole it gets it and they are after Craig because Duke told he worked for him.
His patner Morty molests an old mate, who fell asleep while he was in the back with a corpse. He did ten years for that and this was to say thank you.
In the proces, Craig hits on the girlfriend of a minor gangster named Sidney. But he gets kidnapped by Eddie Temple, the "friend" who's daughter he was supposed to find. He and Jimmy got a bad deal in Africa costing 13 million pounds. The daughter would have been a hostage to strengthen his negotiation position.
Jimmy dubble crosses both Eddie and Craig, being an informer. So Craig assassinates him. He discovers his money launderer is gone, I assume with allof is mney. Dragan still hunts him for the stolen pills and now Eddie wants him to sell the pills to him. That would dissapoint the current buyer so all 's messed up.
Ambushing Dragan went wrong and to make things worse the police raid and find the pills. Dragan however has seen it all and now settles for the head of the Duke. He gets the pills back because he payed the police. He than sells the pills to Eddie, who takes them to compensatie the trouble he caused to his daughter. A lide time membership of the golf coub as paymet. But the first buyers ambush and take the pills. All good after all. However, Sidney is not happy he took his girl...
Surprising fading between scenes and very good music. Nice to see Craig in a non-superhuman role. ” - klontenkoker
