Variety

Once upon a time there was a genre of show called the Variety Show. It had a host or hosts. Sometimes the host was funny. Other times they were musical. Sometimes they were both. Sometimes they were neither. The show would be filled with comedy skits and musical numbers. The closest thing we have now are the late night talk shows and SNL. But the Variety Shows were prime time hits. Here's a baker's dozen great Variety Shows listed in chronological order. I think it's time for the return of the Variety Show, don't you?
