“ The Best Horror film of the 2000's (in my opinion). The scare factor of Paranormal Activity, but also technically beautiful. Cinematography, lighting, composition, a script, acting, an original and creative story, and above all atmosphere. Accomplished on a budget of $1.5 million, and with a PG-13 rating.

It's probably one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life to watch (every second you're waiting to have a heart attack); but I have to call it the best horror movie I've ever seen. ” - danhollow

Director: John Fawcett
“ Love the story, love the characters, love the acting, love the old-school monster effects. Emily Perkins just has her own unique vibe as the death-fascinated Brigitte. And let's not forget Ginger......
The whole movie is like Jennifer's Body. But better. More interesting. Much darker. More realistic. And Better. ” - danhollow

Director: James Mangold
“ I don't watch many westerns, but this is my absolute favorite. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, two actors I have tremendous respect for; going at it back and forth as one-footed rancher Dan Evans (Bale) volunteers to escort wanted outlaw Ben Wade (Crowe) on to the 3:10 train to Yuma where he will hang. However; equally gripping and exciting to watch is Ben Foster as gunslinger Charlie Prince, Wade's right-hand man.

My favorite Western. ” - danhollow

Spirited Away (2001)

During her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are changed into beasts. (125 mins.)
Director: Hayao Miyazaki
“ I love Hayao Myazaki, and this film is the one that first turned me on to his amazing creativity and filmmaking style. This movie is everything I could ever ask for. It may seem a little hard to follow at times; but you will grow to love the characters, even if you don't realize it until the end. I nearly cried at the end of this movie, not because of what was going on in it, but because I felt so sad that the adventure was over. It really felt like I was leaving a family.

My Favorite Animated Film. ” - danhollow

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives. (101 mins.)
Director: Rich Moore
“ I absolutely adored this film. So much imagination and heart, yet it's really a character-driven film. Ralph and Vanellope are both true gems, there's a lot of feeling and emotion behind everything they say. You feel their pain, their loneliness, their hope, and above all their journey.

I needed this film. ” - danhollow
