A near perfect performance in Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Professional, True Romance and Romeo Is Bleeding. I guess not known for carrying a movie, but boy if he is in it, fasten your seatbelt.

Paul Giamatti is an American actor who has worked steadily and prominently for over twenty years, and is best known for leading roles in the films American Splendor (2003), Sideways (2004), and Barney's Version (2010) (for which he won a Golden Globe), and supporting roles in the films Cinderella ...

Maybe the best character actor out there, My personal opinion is he is at his best in Big Fat Liar and Duets. Completely believable in whatever he does, just doesn't get many chances at big movies.

American actor, filmmaker and activist Edward Harrison Norton was born on August 18, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised in Columbia, Maryland.

His mother, Lydia Robinson "Robin" (Rouse), was a foundation executive and teacher of English, and a daughter of famed real estate developer ...

Not sure where his career is going, but he can definitely keep your in your seat when he wants. Loved him in Rounders and American History X, but haven't seen a lot of chances for him to shine lately.

4. Greg Kinnear

Actor | As Good as It Gets

Greg Kinnear was born on June 17, 1963, in Logansport, Indiana, USA to Edward Kinnear, a career diplomat with the US State Department, and Suzanne (Buck) Kinnear, a homemaker. He reminds me a lot of Michael Keaton, funny and serious depending on what it calls for. As Good As It Gets is by far his best, but I never never been disappointed in a movie he is in.

5. Russell Crowe

Russell Ira Crowe was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Jocelyn Yvonne (Wemyss) and John Alexander Crowe, both of whom catered movie sets. His maternal grandfather, Stanley Wemyss, was a cinematographer. Crowe's recent ancestry includes Welsh (where his paternal grandfather was born, in Wrexham),...

What happened here, you get Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, then Robin Hood and The Next Three Days. I've heard he is hard to work with, but talent in Hollywood is scarce. He is one of a few great actors we have in this generation.

Film and stage actor and theater director Philip Seymour Hoffman was born in the Rochester, New York, suburb of Fairport on July 23, 1967. He was the son of Marilyn (Loucks), a lawyer and judge, and Gordon Stowell Hoffman, a Xerox employee, and was mostly of German, Irish, English and Dutch ...

I watch this guy and actually forget he is an actor. Before The Devil Knows You're Dead is good enough that I bit my nails until they hurt. Can be the good guy, bad guy, lovable friend, whatever is needed. Like Paul Giamatti with a dark side.

7. Mark Wahlberg

Actor | Boogie Nights

American actor Mark Wahlberg is one of a handful of respected entertainers who successfully made the transition from teen pop idol to acclaimed actor. A Best Supporting Actor Oscar nominee for The Departed (2006) who went on to receive positive critical reviews for his performance in The Fighter (...

Could be a great action guy, but time is running out. The Happening hasn't helped at all. Shooter and Boogie Nights are two of my favorites, I'll even throw in The Big Hit once in a while.

8. Tom Sizemore

Actor | Saving Private Ryan

Tom Sizemore rose in prominence throughout the 1990s, establishing himself as a memorable tough-guy actor, sought by the most respected directors in the business.

Thomas Edward Sizemore, Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Judith (Schannault), an ombudsman staff member, and Thomas Edward Sizemore, ...

Sooooo much wasted talent, I feel for him, not as an actor, but as a man. He is so self destructive, I see him in Heat and Black Hawk Down and wonder what could have been. I hope he gets another run at it, love to watch this guy work.

Antonino Giovanni Ribisi is an American actor who was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents both have careers in the entertainment industry. Another guy I feel never got the right role to push him over the top. Really good in Boiler Room, Gone in 60 Seconds, and may play the best flake besides Ben Foster.

10. Sean Penn

Actor | Mystic River

Sean Penn is a powerhouse film performer capable of intensely moving work, who has gone from strength to strength during a colourful film career, and who has drawn much media attention for his stormy private life and political viewpoints.

Sean Justin Penn was born in Los Angeles, California, the ...

It's still hard for me to believe Spicoli is in I Am Sam and Mystic River. If this guys acts like a tough guy, I am not sure we could figure out if it was an act or not. I respect his movie choices for being the ones he wants and not the ones that would pay better. I would love to see a movie with this list of actors along the lines of something like Heat or a Gangster movie, something where they would really shine.
