“ My All-time favorite movie. Warning though it may be too dark and scary for some kids but if they can handle that stuff (Slept after watching Pinocchio (maybe it was only me that was scared by that movie as a kid) or the last scence in Fantiasia) show them this they will love it. This movie though is just as enterianing to adults as it is too kids perhaps even more. The Charters are colorerful, and the scary stuff is actually pretty creepy. Don't expect the Wizard Of Oz though this is not that happy/ cheery movie. I would go onto a whole argument about how it's better than that movie, but I don't want all the crap for my opion and if you look at the page you'll see enough of that argument. Oh well also, wow i have to say about this movie, it's one of the few movies that's better than the book (and I love the book). This movie has been said to be one of Tim Burton's favorite movies (not sure how true that is) but you can see a lot of Tim Burton type stuff in this movie; dark fairytale telling, humor about things that shouldn't be funny, Creepyness, pure surrelism, and plain strangness. Any ways this is a very overlooked classic and my all time favorite movie. ” - ruhland-horselover-micha
