4. Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933)

The disappearance of people and corpses leads a reporter to a wax museum and a sinister sculptor.
The original movie that the Vincent Price "House of Wax" was based on. In my opinion, this is the better of the two, mainly due to Glenda Farrell's very memorable performance as Florence Dempsey, the role that led to that of Torchy Blane, which in turn inspired Lois Lane.

Almost right up there with "Metropolis" in terms of amazement, and the greatest Biblical epic ever made. Easily one of the greatest masterpieces of all time.

14. Torchy Gets Her Man (1938)

A notorious counterfeiter passes himself off as a Secret Service agent to Steve and gets him to unwittingly help him bilk the racetrack out of tens of thousands.
Technically the sixth, but I consider it the fifth, because I don't count the one with Lola Lane.
15. Torchy Blane in Chinatown (1939)

It should be pretty obvious by now that I'm a fan of Glenda Farrell and Torchy Blane.
16. Torchy Runs for Mayor (1939)

Glenda Farrell and Barton MacLane team up again, this time in a non-Torchy Blane movie. This is a more dark, serious movie, exploring the poor treatment of prisoners. Interesting bit of trivia: in the Torchy Blane movies, Glenda Farrell calls Barton MacLane "Skipper". In this one, he calls her "Skipper".

The Man of Steel fights a mad scientist who is destroying Metropolis with an energy cannon.
I like the Fleischer cartoons, the George Reeves show, and the movies with Christopher Reeve all very much, but the Fleischer cartoons are the most "perfect" screen portrayal of Superman, in my opinion.
I put just this one on the list because putting all 17 of the Fleischer cartoons would take up too much space.
