IMO, this is THE "fight your enemy, be captured by your enemy, love your enemy" movie". Most people won't admit it, but Tom Cruise is phenomenal as Captain Algren who goes from being a drunk soldier haunted by his past to a trained samurai with a cause. The wooden sword fight scene in the rain might be my favorite scene of all time.
