200 titles
- DirectorGary ShermanStarsDonald PleasenceNorman RossingtonDavid LaddWhen a government official disappears in the London tunnels, after several reports of missing people in the same location, Scotland Yard start to take the matter seriously, along with a couple who stumble into a victim by accident.Donald Pleasence truly is on top form here in this under rated horror from the early 70’s, definitely very nasty for its time, maybe the reason for its obscurity. Also features a very unnecessary but very fun cameo from Christopher Lee with a ridiculous looking moustache
- DirectorPete WalkerStarsRupert DaviesSheila KeithDeborah FairfaxAfter escaping a death sentence for her hideous crimes, a seemingly rehabilitated woman settles in an isolated farmhouse with her husband, only to ache, once more, for blood, and a crash-course in surgery. Is, indeed, her old self back?Excellent Pete Walker film from the early 70’s, it’s a true shame these cult exploitation films from that period didn’t make more of an impact on the horror genre because they truly are quite un nerving at times, Sheila Keith who played the role of Dorothy was absolutely fantastic
- DirectorJeff GillenAlan OrmsbyStarsRoberts BlossomCosette LeeLeslie CarlsonA deranged rural farmer becomes a grave robber and murderer after the death of his possessive mother, whose corpse he keeps, among others, as his companion in a decaying farmhouse.Harrowing movie loosely based on the infamous serial killer Ed Gein. What makes the movie is the lead actor's disturbing take on a serial killer, he blends together perfectly a sympathetic character and a completely deranged psycho
- DirectorUmberto LenziStarsMartine BrochardJohn RichardsonInes PellegriniA maniac killer in a red cape and hood is killing off American tourists on a tour bus by gouging out their eyeballs.Must warn anyone wanting to watch this movie that the ending is very stupid and makes little to no sense to the whole story, that being said however i did find it enjoyable. Just sit back and enjoy great camera work by the great Umberto Lenzi, a magnificent little score and fun characters
- DirectorAbel FerraraStarsAbel FerraraCarolyn MarzBaybi DayAn artist slowly goes insane while struggling to pay his bills, work on his paintings, and care for his two female roommates, which leads him taking to the streets of New York after dark and randomly killing derelicts with a power drill. One of the most notorious of the video nasties mainly due to the cover art. I remember as a child going into the video store and really wanting to see this movie haha I really enjoy this film as a portrayal of a man going insane, I thought Abel Ferrara did a terrific job in conveying this
- DirectorJeffrey BloomStarsDavid HuffmanMarianna HillBurt YoungSomething is attacking and killing people on the beach. David and Mariana, old friends, search for clues where they played as kids to uncover the mysterious creature.Burt Young absolutely made this movie, his character was hilarious, don't know whether that was intentional or not haha loved the effect of people getting sucked into the sand
- DirectorJoseph ZitoStarsVicky DawsonChristopher GoutmanLawrence TierneyAn unknown killer, clad in World War II U.S. Army fatigues, stalks a small California town, bent on reliving a 35 year-old double murder by focusing on a group of college kids holding an annual graduation dance.A classic 80’s slasher, the killer in this looked so bad ass with all his WW2 gear on, also with Tom Savini doing the special effects you know you’re going to get some gnarly and bloody kills
- DirectorTom DeSimoneStarsLinda BlairVincent Van PattenPeter BartonFour college fraternity and sorority pledges spend the night in a deserted old mansion as part of a hazing ritual during hell night, where they are stalked by the only survivor of a family massacre from the mansion's sordid past.Very very good mix between a straight forward slasher and the old haunted house story, starts off very campy and cheesy not unlike other horrors from that period with a wild college party, 10-15 minutes in though it gets really intense, the house itself is very atmospheric and there is a few scenes throughout the movie which do well in keeping the audience on the edges of their seats. Plus Linda Blair looks hot as hell
- DirectorKen HughesStarsLeonard MannRachel WardDrew SnyderWho's been decapitating the innocent girls at a local night school? The police are baffled. From the director of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Casino Royale from 1967 comes this very cool virtually unknown slasher, this was his last film which i suppose doesn’t speak too highly of the film itself, i enjoyed it though very sleazy and cheesy at parts. Only complaint would be that anyone with half a brain could figure out who the killer was
- DirectorHerb FreedStarsChristopher GeorgePatch MackenzieE. Danny MurphyA masked killer begins murdering students on the school track team after a track runner dies upon completion of a 30 second 200-meter race.I was pleasantly surprised at this Troma slasher because of many, many bad reviews i’d read, although it was quite cheesy and the acting was absolutely atrocious at times haha I found it really engrossing. Features a small part for Linnea Quigley pre Return of the Living Dead
- DirectorJeff LiebermanStarsGeorge KennedyMike KellinChris LemmonFive young people venture into the backwoods of Oregon to claim a property, and find themselves being stalked by a hulking, machete-wielding psychopath.Very atmospheric horror set in the backwoods, George Kennedy is great as always plus hearing a bit of Blondie in the soundtrack doesn’t hurt any
- DirectorMark RosmanStarsKate McNeilEileen DavidsonJanis WardAfter a seemingly innocent prank goes horribly wrong, a group of sorority sisters are stalked and murdered one by one in their sorority house while throwing a party to celebrate their graduation. With a name like this you would expect this film to be absolutely filled with sleaze however it is fairly lacking in that respect. It does make up for it thought in story, ploy and some decent acting especially by the lead actress Kate McNeill who i’m surprised didn’t go onto much more
- DirectorWayne BerwickStarsJackie VernonLoren ScheinAl TroupeFed up of his wife's bad cooking, Donald kills her and turns to cannibalism to satisfy his appetite.Oh my God!! The tagline for this movie is “the worst horror movie of all time” haha technically speaking this might be true however if you have a few drinks and switch off this becomes the funniest hour and a bit of your life
- DirectorBuddy CooperJohn DouglassStarsMatt MitlerRuth MartinezBill HitchcockA college student, who accidentally killed his mother as a child, decides to take his friends to his father's fishing cabin during fall break, not knowing that his crazed father is stalking the place. The best thing about this movie is the gruesome kill scenes in it, including one very cringeworthy scene with a giant fish hook. Overall a very cool movie with a slightly out of place soundtrack
- DirectorFred WaltonStarsDeborah ForemanGriffin O'NealClayton RohnerNine college students staying at a friend's remote island mansion begin to fall victim to an unseen murderer over the April Fool's Day weekend, but nothing is as it seems.Very different slasher from what you’ve seen before, slow burning but leads to an unforgettable ending
- DirectorWilliam FruetStarsMartin HewittRalph SeymourElaine WilkesIn order to join a sorority, three friends go to a hazing party in an old house where a sadistic bloodthirsty demonic spirit is lying in wait.Definitely in the category of being so bad it’s good, just doesn’t get more 80’s low budget trash, loved the song April by glam metal band White Sister played over the opening credits
- DirectorJackie KongStarsRick BurksCarl CrewRoger DauerTwo brothers are entrusted by their uncle to uphold the ritualistic cannibalism of the ancient cult of Sheetar. In order to do so, they have to prepare a feast of sacrifice for the resurrection of their goddess.Sadly underappreciated at the time it was released but an understandable cult following amongst horror lovers nowadays. Very, very funny even feeling like a spoof at times, some great special effects and hilarious one liners. A must watch for lovers of trashy gore flicks
- DirectorJohn HoughStarsSarah TorgovTerence KellyMark EricksonA group of travellers make emergency landing on an island in the Pacific Northwest after their seaplane malfunctioned, and stumble across an isolated and psychopathic family.Genuinely creepy slasher set in the woods with a bit of an original twist. The demented family led by Ma and Pa are funny at times but at the same time scary. Oscar winner Rod Steiger puts through an amazing performance
- DirectorScott SpiegelStarsLiz KernRenée EstevezDan HicksThe overnight stock crew of a local supermarket find themselves being stalked and slashed by a mysterious maniac.Loved the setting of a supermarket for the entirety of this film, actually reminds me a lot of the place I work. A host of horror icons collaborate in the making of this film, the director Scott Spiegal directed and featured as an actor in a lot of famous horror films, Sam and Ted Raimi both play excellent parts as employees of the supermarket. Legend Bruce Campbell also makes a cameo at the end. Also of note are the gore and death scenes
- DirectorVictor SalvaStarsNathan Forrest WintersBrian McHughSam RockwellJust before Halloween, three young brothers alone in a big house are menaced by three escaped mental patients who have murdered some traveling circus clowns and taken their identities.Highly controversial movie due to the director’s paedophilia and watching the movie is quite creepy mainly due to some overtones and shots of the boys in their undies. All that aside this is truly one of the most terrifying movies i’ve ever seen maybe because I find clowns quite uncomfortable at the best of times haha. A true chiller in every sense of the word
- DirectorWallace PottsStarsRobert R. ShaferJeff QuallePalmer Lee ToddSix college students on their weekend vacation are humiliated and killed one by one by a psycho cop.Obviously banking on the hit Maniac Cop made just prior this film doubles the camp factor of that film, I don’t think i’ve ever seen more paranoid teenagers in any film, when they hear someone chopping wood they feel edgy and want to leave. Absolutely loved it. The sequel Psycho Cop Returns directed by Adam Rifkin who did Detroit Rock City and a segment of Chillerama. It’s twice as cheesy and twice as good in my opinion, plus Julie Strain in assless chaps was pretty awesome. Wish they had of made a few more of these, they were fun as hell
- DirectorMark HerrierAlan OrmsbyStarsJill SchoelenTom VillardDee WallaceA master of disguise deranged killer begins killing off the college students who are organizing a horror-movie marathon in an abandoned theater. This hidden 90’s gem was just a thrill ride, never dull with a likeable cast set in a cinema which is always good in my opinion. Loved the little homage’s to old creature features with the 3 short movies they made for it. Dee Wallace also has a small part but a very good one
- DirectorJim GillespieStarsJennifer Love HewittSarah Michelle GellarAnne HecheFour young friends bound by a tragic accident are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town. One of the classic teen slashers to come out in the late 90’s, doesn’t start off too well but gets extremely good especially towards the end, plus it features Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Love Hewitt in their prime. I thought the sequel I Still Know what you did last Summer although not as good as the first was still a very fun film, loved the part that Jeffrey Combs played in it
- DirectorScott GlossermanStarsNathan BaeselAngela GoethalsZelda RubinsteinThe next great killer and psychopath has given a documentary film crew exclusive access to his life as he plans his reign of terror over the quiet town of Glen Echo.Any slasher fan should get a real kick out of seeing this film, especially with all the little homages to other slashers. I won't spoil any, but just remember to watch extremely closely throughout. Great mockumentary
- DirectorRyûhei KitamuraStarsVinnie JonesBradley CooperLeslie BibbA photographer's obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer who stalks late night commuters, ultimately butchering them in the most gruesome ways.Extremely original twist on this new slasher/torture porn sub genre. The gore was absolutely top notch even though it was CGI, a lot of cool death scenes including seeing Ted Raimi’s eye fly out of his head in slow motion. Whoever cast Vinnie Jones as the villain is an absolute genius, i’ve loved Jones ever since his football career and this is definitely one of his best acting roles
