10 Best Horror Films of 2009

by nauru-1 • Created 11 years ago • Modified 9 years ago
A decent close to the decade. The 2000's can be considered a comeback of sorts from the 1990's, with part of this being due to the sheer quantity of horror films being produced post-millennium. This is especially true of the latter half of the decade. Modern horror is heavily criticized for its lack of originality and intelligence, one that has some merit especially when you look at mainstream trends. However, with the amount of options out there now, there are bound to be some good ones as there have been.

Notable Films sometimes labelled as horror:
The White Ribbon, District 9, Sin Nombre, Coraline, Mother, Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1974, Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1980, Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1983, Exam

Notable Films that didn't make the cut:
Daybreakers, Amer, Pandorum, The Last House on the Left, The Collector, Case 39, Carriers, The Uninvited, Survival of the Dead, Polytechnique, Tony, The Eclipse, The Forbidden Door, Doghouse, Dread, Laid to Rest, Phobia 2, The Revenant, Jennifer's Body, Splice, Friday the 13th, The Final Destination, Saw IV, The Human Centipede (First Sequence), My Bloody Valentine, The Haunting in Connecticut, The Unborn, Halloween II, After.Life, The Descent: Part 2, Sorority Row
