The Hurt Locker, the story of an elite group of soldiers with one of the most dangerous jobs in the world: disarming bombs.
Based on writer Mark Boal's time spent embedded with a bomb disposal unit in Iraq, the film focuses on a trio of soldiers -- Sergeant JT Sanborn (
Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (
Brian Geraghty), along with their new leader Sergeant William James (
Jeremy Renner) -- who must learn to work together in the heat of violent battle to disable every kind of explosive device. Above and beyond completing their intense work in the midst of chaos, Sanborn and Eldridge soon discover they they must also contend with the death-defying behavior of James, whose increasingly risky approach to warfare begins to threaten them all.
