Times are tough for Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane) these days. A former high school sports legend turned middle-aged high school basketball coach, he’s a divorced dad in dire straits, struggling to make ends meet. After attending a self-help seminar, Ray takes a long, hard look at himself – and decides that the best way to take advantage of his "winning tool" is by becoming a male gigolo. With former conquest Tanya (Jane Adams) signing on as his pimp, Ray sails into the uncharted waters of being a male escort, trying to balance the demands of everyday life with the ups and downs of a venture about which he knows next to nothing –- but which he may well be uniquely qualified to exploit.
