What is the purpose of the Top Links area on the left-hand side of the page?

The Top Links area on the left hand side of the page is the first phase in our plan to allow users to be able to pick their top five most popular links for easier access to the data they want to see most.

Currently, it is based on on an aggregate of total user clicks. In the future, it is our intention to tailor this to individual user preferences.
