Director: Robert Kenner
Stars: Eric Schlosser, Michael Pollan
Synopsis: An examination of the expansive food industry in the United States ranging from farmers and supermarkets to government agencies and major corporations.
Why We're Excited: We've been atwitter about it ever since Martha Stewart twittered about it, and the whole swine flu thing could make this movie required viewing this summer. This is the one documentary which could eclipse the attention generated by Michael Moore's sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11, which will most likely be released this summer. Maybe the "big doc" is back, finally?
Why We're Not: Theaters won't likely serve organic snacks and popcorn with this movie (not that we'll have much of an appetite when we find out where it all comes from). Also, do we really ever learn?
Trivia: This film has partnered with the social action network Take Part, which combines entertainment and active participation to bring about change.
