Terriers

Premieres: September 29, 8:30pm on CBS

Stars: Kevin Dillon, David Hornsby, Rhys Darby, Nancy Lenehan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Dave Foley. (more)

Plot: In this odd couple comedy, Andrew Carlson (David Hornsby) a refined writer who clings to etiquette as the last vestige of a civilized world, finds himself in a difficult position when the men's magazine where he works changes its format from a gentleman's quarterly to a lad mag. In order to adapt, he enlists an old acquaintance and perpetual lunkhead, personal trainer Bert Lansing (Kevin Dillon), as his life coach. Bert's mission: To make Andrew into more of a modern manly man.

Why We're Excited: Dave Foley, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Nancy Lenehan, and Rhys Darby round out the supporting cast.

Why We're Not: The shame of it is, these are all very funny people in a thoroughly unfunny pilot. Granted, that means that any improvement is a positive thing but...it would have to become a completely different show to make it worth recommending.

Trivia: Kevin Dillon's great-uncle was late cartoonist Alex Raymond, who created the super manly character Flash Gordon.
