Plot: The zombie apocalypse has finally ravaged the Earth. A group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, are searching for a safe place to call home. But as the stress of survival takes its toll on the people who lived through the end, the question become which group is more dangerous, the undead...or the living?
Why We're Excited: Although many have never read Robert Kirkman's comic, zombie fans are having a hard time keeping their excitement about "The Walking Dead" under wraps. That respected director Frank Darabont is writing, directing and executive producing it is simply the icing on a gigantic multi-layered cake of potential goodness.
Why We're Not: There's been a lot of hype leading up to this series...and in spite of the top-notch talent behind the camera, few have seen what it looks like yet. Between that and our growing fatigue for vampires and werewolves, we may find that our anticipation for the series is so high that the pilot can't match our expectations.
Trivia: In creating the look and feel of the show, Frank Darabont says he was inspired by the films of George Romero. But unlike Romero's living dead, the TV show's zombies will be able to run.
