(a) Eligible are films from the 14 member countries of namely; Thailand, India, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kuwait, Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Japan and New Zealand. (as of 1999)
(a) Eligible are films from the 7 founding member countries of the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia-Pacific (FPA), namely; Japan, Taiwan, Hongkong, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. (as of 1953)
(b) Films must not have been commercially released earlier than January, 1st of the preceding year in which the festival is held.
(c) Films which have not been released commercially, but with production completed on or after January, 1st of the preceding year in which the festival is held, are eligible too.
