- Victoria Cruz investigates the mysterious 1992 death of black gay rights activist and Stonewall veteran, Marsha P. Johnson. Using archival interviews with Johnson, and new interviews with Johnson's family, friends and fellow activists.
- The spot leverages the station's "New York's Very Own" tagline with original lyrics to celebrate the holidays. Hip hop artist and wrapper MC Ali is featured along with singer Emma Kiara, who rhymes "We are New York's Very Own" with "The greatest place the world has ever known." On screen, meanwhile, WPIX talent and livery as well as candid shots of New Yorkers are edited in while Ali is shown mostly walking the streets singing his lyrics and Emma strums her guitar in Bryant Park.
- For more than a century, the Church of the Intercession has been the site of what is considered New York City's oldest Christmas tradition. The reading of the classic holiday poem "A Visit from St Nicholas," followed by a candlelight procession across Broadway, to the Trinity Church graveyard, where the author Clement Clarke Moore is buried. Due to COVID-19, this wonderful ceremony did not take place this year, but PIX11 wanted to continue this 110-year tradition by producing a half-hour show featuring some of the elements of the original service. PIX11 made all the arrangements by acquiring a celebrity reader, and contacting musical groups, which we shot either over ZOOM or in a safe socially distant environment. We worked closely with the clergy to create a show that they felt comfortable with and offered a message of hope to our audience.
