Here they often find themselves on the right track, and life and death sometimes depend on the timetable. Here, life boils daily and round-the-clock, without stopping even for a minute: as soon as the apron leaves hundreds of passengers who have arrived, they are replaced by an endless river of departing passengers, the ads flowing from the speakers do not cease, the porters scurry - In this truly Babylonian pandemonium it is easy to become a victim of scammers. Petty thieves and pickpockets, annoying gypsies and beggars of all stripes, drunkards, tramps and professional beggars - here they will always find their victims. This is their own world, living according to special laws, where everyone has their own strictly guarded territory: where the gypsies "work", there is no way for tramps, just as professional paths of thieves and beggars do not intersect. It has its own harsh life, and therefore the work of local operatives is especially dangerous and difficult. There are three of them - Captain Valery Drobot, Lieutenant Mikhail Golovin and Major San Sanych. Once, they, like many people running past them daily, also came here, and remained here to study and work. Despite different interests and different characters, all of them were rallied by one thing - working in the department for solving serious crimes of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs in railway transport. Every day they go to the service in order to prevent the criminal world from seizing power in this human maelstrom. Whether they investigate crimes in hot pursuit, whether they collect evidence, or question witnesses, their goal is always the same - to ensure order and security for everyone who, by the will of fate, is on the square of three stations.
- The Steppe Wolves, a criminal gang headed by the Volkov family, controls the town of Stepnye Kurgany. Young cop Andrey Demov comes here to investigate the disappearance of his friend and colleague Alexander Nefyodov. At the same time, Ivan Volkov nicknamed "the Cat", the main suspect in the case, is released from detention. He is also trying to find out who is behind Nefyodov's disappearance. To get ahead in his investigation Dymov is forced to play by the gang's rules and compromise. To make matters worse, his fiancee Katya falls for Ivan Volkov, heir to the crime family.
