- The first installment of "The Ordinary Radicals: Special Topics" explores the historical development of the new movement towards justice-centered faith. Shane Claiborne, Tony Campolo, Brian McLaren, and others offer perspectives on the witness of the early Church, the social context surrounding the rise of fundamentalism, the emergence of a new understanding of a social gospel, and the construction of a new cross-denominational vision of unity for today's church.
- In this Volume, Shane Claiborne and The Simple Way community takes us on a jouney through our world of economic extremes, from the poverty of Philly's inner city to the clamor of Wall Street. Begining in an abandoned house, they drive us through the industrial wasteland of Kensington, and they invite us to the New York Stock Exchange for the infamous Jubliee Money Drop. Multi-media clips included here are designed for educational purposes and biblical study. A beautiful harmony of songs and images, teaching and storytelling unveil the tragic realities of our fragile world and incredible hope that "another world is possible." Here we are all invited to re-imagine the communality of the early Christian Church and to discover fresh ways of living it out today.
- The Pacific Rim Mining Company has been lobbying for years for drilling rights under the mountain of El Dorado, an ironically named landmark in El Salvador containing over $1.3 billion worth of gold and precious metals. These resources come at a price however - severe environmental and human rights concerns have fueled a healthy resistance against the company and their mining practices. This short film takes a close look at the recent death of activist Marcelo Rivera, the current class-action lawsuit against El Salvador's government, and the connections between the two.
