- An immoral small-town girl steals money from her drunk lover in order to go to a big city. There she becomes a cabaret star and seduces a wealthy married entrepreneur.
- Gerald Morely's father commits suicide, leaving a note blaming his despair on a stock swindle perpetrated by John Randall. Randall denies the charge and is himself murdered by Tom Bennett, the real culprit. Bennett frames Jerry by having Deagan (the butler) plant the murder weapon in a way that makes Jerry look guilty. Posing as her protector, Bennett persuades Randall's daughter, Gloria, to marry him, although Jerry also falls in love with her. But Jerry is arrested, tried for murder, and convicted of killing his own father. He escapes on Gloria's wedding night and arrives in time to overhear her admit her love for him and Bennett drunkenly confess to Randall's murder.
- Twin sisters, one good and honest and sweet, and the other given to totin' pistols and pulling robberies, keep confusing a detective about which one he his chasing for what, since he has different reasons for chasing both.
- Trying to trick Ma (Lydia Knott) and Mary Winters (Allene Ray) into selling their rundown ranch, which will be in the path of a future railroad, Underwood (Charles K.French) hires Keno Creager (Albert Smith) to impersonate Jimmy Winters, not seen by his mother and sister for many years. Lucky Lorimer (Leo Maloney), a horsetrading drifter, and Larry Withers, a waiter (Jack Perrin) in the saloon of Boss Wheeler (William Dyer), discover the plot. Larry reveals he is Jimmy, and they both head for the Winters' ranch. They find Creager already there but Lucky, via a fake murder charge on Jimmy Winters, tricks Creager into denying he is Jimmy.
- The morning after his engagement party, wealthy young New York playboy Billy Hepburn awakens, battered and bruised, but without any memory of what happened the night before. Billy's valet then informs him that he and prize fighter Battling Burke had gotten into a brawl over Billy's fiancée, and Burke won. Determined to regain his honor, Billy goes into training, with his valet's help. Billy arranges to finance a boxing match with Burke, but because Billy's father objects, the fight must take place on a raft near Coney Island. Billy finally wins the fight, thereby impressing his fiancée and winning the respect of his father.
- A college band performs in a speakeasy, where a raid results in the expulsion of the bandleader, but later he manages to land a Broadway gig.
- Escaping from a revolution, the King of a mythical Balkan country heads to the United States. Here he finds a friend in the form of dashing secret service agent Yorke Norray.
- In a plot to take control of the Lazy Y ranch, which holds water rights to the local area, a rancher kidnaps the Lazy Y owner's daughter. The ranch foreman manages to eventually foil the plot and get the girl.
- The railroad is building a new line, but the workers are unhappy because one of the board members, hoping to oust the man in charge of the project (Rapley), has a saboteur on site. Rapley's daughter Rose sneaks out to the project to become their telegraph operator, and with help from the supervisor "Sunrise" Smith, eventually discovers the plot and helps catch the bad guys amid several thrilling train chases.
- Alice, Julius, and one other character are in a combined auto/horse race. Julius gets off to a bad start when his car takes off, without him, in the wrong direction; it takes him a while to get it straightened out. Alice and the bad guy battle a bit for the lead, which Alice takes; they pass a detour, which the bad guy changes the sign for. Julius, taking the bad road, eventually drives up a cliff and, after a mighty struggle at the top, makes it, in third place, to the changeover. Alice and the bad guy ride off on horses; Julius has a wind-up wooden horse. Julius' horse keeps breaking down, eventually losing the back legs (Julius uses an empty thought balloon to hold up the rear). Alice's horse jumps a fence, and won't continue. The bad guy looks like he'll win, but Alice makes a mighty leap and knocks him off to win the race.
- An indulgent father, a hair-brained flapper (played by Edna Murphy), a villainous owner of the local dive, and a newspaper editor (played by Bryant Washburn) enact this story of the younger generation. Suspecting something worthwhile beneath her blonde curls, the newspaperman falls in love with the girl and gets involved in some wild parties. The couple is lured into a roadhouse on the night of a long-expected raid, her father is killed, and the editor is convicted and sentenced to death in the electric chair. Through the girl's efforts, the governor grants a stay of execution, and all ends happily.
- Fred Colgate, wealthy young man, learns that his tramp wife has been unfaithful and leaves her, and goes to Mexico. An accident causes him to be thought dead. He becomes a prizefighter, and when he return to his home city, he encounters a strange situation.
- A pearl stolen from an Indian idol results in nothing but trouble for its owner. After he receives death threats by note pinned to a dagger, he decides to gather his relatives in his old mansion for a reading of his will. Unfortunately, the family members are being mysteriously bumped off one by one. The butler and an heiress set out to discover what's going on.
- A cowboy comes to the aid of a pretty young ranch owner who must recover the gold that's been stolen from her by a recently fired foreman and his gang.
- Hector, who was reared by a maiden aunt, decides to leave his sheltered life and become a reporter. At the newspaper where he has works, Hector becomes friendly with a young female reporter, who uses the byline "Firefly" for a series of articles intended to expose a notorious café. At the same time, Hector's aunt, head of the local Purity League, gives a stirring speech to the membership about ridding their community of the café. The young woman enlists Hector's aid and together they gain enough evidence to close the café.
- After winning the lightweight championship, Billy Brooks is rushed into the bright lights of Broadway;s Great White Way, along with his flighty wife, Phyllis. Ace O'Brien, the manager of Billy's next opponent, tries to weaken Brooks by getting him into all kinds of parties and also by trying to break up his love for Phyllis. He employs delightful Deloari, Broadway vamp-for-hire, to aid him and Delorai does her work so well that Brooks loses the fight. He, his manager and his trainer go to the Brooks apartment where Phyllis is throwing a big party, and the angry Brooks poops on the party and throws all attendees out. Phyllis leaves him. On the night of his comeback fight, Phyllis is injured in an automobile accident and taken to a hospital where her condition is diagnosed as serious. Brooks is kept from knowing about it until just before his fight. When he is told that Phyllis is listening to the fight on the radio, Brooks quickly dispatches his opponent and heads for a reconciliation with Phyllis.
- When Coast Guard Captain Tom Norris, at Point Lobos, Maine, save Natalie Aldridge from drowning, a romance blossoms much to the dislike of Carlton Aldrich, Natalie's uncle, who wishes her to marry Lonsdayle. In spite of her uncle, Natalie and Tom are married and live in a small cottage near the Coast Guard station, and Aldridge ignores them. Tom is assigned to capture the oyster pirates and does so, but the pirate leader escapes and plans to keep Tom from testifying against his men by kidnapping Natalie. (This film, and a few other Paul Gerson films, were never copyrighted.)
- A border saloon - half in California, half in Nevada - is a hangout for frontier gangs.
- The police find Queenie Ross murdered. Tip O'Neil, a newspaper reporter, is detailed to solve the mystery. He finds a cuff link on the body and recollects returning a similar one to Count Verdaux, a gang leader. Dressed as a tango dancer he gives an exhibition with Mazie, the Count's sweetheart. The gang is wise to Tip and goes for him. The lights go out and Tip escapes. He learns his sweetheart turned off the lights. Nell is brought to Ah Foo's rooms by a trick. Tip learns of her captivity goes to get her and a fight follows. The police arrive and the murderer confesses. Tip gets another scoop for his paper.
- Billy is kidnapped by a gang of criminals and forced to drive a getaway car. The gang-leader escapes, while Billy is arrested along with two of the holdup men. Billy escapes and rides the rods to another town, where he becomes acquainted with Harfer, the owner of a racing car, who is being hoodwinked by the car's driver. The driver is fired, and Billy is hired to drive the car in an important race. The gang-leader who kidnapped Billy is determined to prevent Harfer from winning the race and arranges for Billy to be kidnapped again, but Billy escapes from his abductors and arrives at the racetrack in time to win the race. The gang-leader is arrested by the police, and Billy wins the love of Harfer's daughter, Eloise.
- Star reporter Tip O'Neil attends a society party given in honor of Adele Brewer, a young woman with whom he is in love. When Stock broker Richard Caldwell is shot and killed at the party, suspicion falls on Adele's brother but Tip eventually unmasks the real killer and clears Adele's brother.
- Stephen Winthrop, a young playboy living in New York City, inherits the estate and all the holdings of his wealthy Canadian uncle but pays scant attention to it, preferring the "party" life in New York. He is unaware that the family attorney, Frank Garson, has forbidden hunting on the Wintrop lands in Canada, cutting off the livelihoods of the local villagers. Mary Cartier, goddaughter of the village priest, travels to New York to try to get Stephen to change the policy. He returns with her to Canada, sees what's going on, and lifts the ban, then decides to stay in Canada. Mary returns to New York to try to help Garson's ill wife and child, whom the sleazy lawyer has abandoned, but the wife dies and Mary brings back the small child to Canada. The villagers, mistaking the child for Mary's, are outraged at this "scarlet woman" flaunting her illegitimate child and attempt to drive her out. Complications ensue.
- Donald Hearne flees Borneo and its island justice when he fears he has killed a man. Later his name is cleared and it is up to his sister Johanna to risk sea, pirates, and capricious fate as she makes way to bring her brother back home.
- Vincent Barton, the son of the vice-president of a railroad company, takes a job as the depot agent at Bynes. He fires one of Tony Sharkey's henchmen, scheming against the railroad, and, as a result, a fight takes place and a switching order is overlooked which nearly results in a major wreck. Realizing the situation at Hynes, Helen Barton, Vincent's sister, dashes to Hynes in her roadster and puts together a severed telegraph wire to put the station back in communications with headquarters. Meanwhile, Helen's sweetheart, Tom Lawson, is fighting with Sharkey in a run-away engine and it is headed for an open bridge over a river.
- City youth sets out for West to avenge father's murder. Arrives in town where killer lives and after a series of fights he accomplishes his purpose. Falls in love with school teacher and resolves to stay in town.
- A brilliant detective is trying to break up a notorious crime ring, using part of an intercepted message. While investigating, he meets a beautiful and mysterious countess.
- Jerry Judd, a young cop, is on the trail of a gang of stick-up men who rob jewelry stores. He falls in love with Patricia Barry, who it turns out is the sister of the gang's leader, Blackie. She loves Jerry, too, but is torn between her love for him and her loyalty to her brother, and is put to the test when Jerry gets closer to discovering where the gang's hideout is.
- A ten-chapter Rayart serial about fire-fighters/fire-fighting and fire-fighters fighting in the Big City. - Tip O'Neil is the livest wire on the Herald's staff. He has gathered evidence against Logan - head of the Titanic Construction Co., and Dan Macey, a politician. Dan calls on Inspector Murphy of the Police Department, and warns him to "lay off." While in the Inspector's office Dan sees Ruth, the girl that Tip loves, at the safe where the evidence is placed. Dan goes to Rita who owns a Beauty Shoppe and is his "sweetie" and they plot to use a girl, Sophie, who closely resembles Ruth to get the evidence. Dan takes the evidence from Rita but she swears to get even. Inspector Murphy suspects Ruth of the loss of evidence. Tip believes otherwise. He becomes acquainted with Rita and learns where the evidence is kept. While in Dan's house he battles Dan's gang - he hears that Ruth is held captive on a boat - he escapes the gang and rescues Ruth. The Inspector goes to Dan's house but Dan has burned the envelope containing the evidence. Tip rushes in and takes the real evidence from under the carpet beside safe. Dan and his aids are arrested.
- "Matches Mary" has sold matches on the streets of New York for many years and nobody knows her real identity. The truth is that Mary's young son had been kidnapped many years ago and she donned ragged attire while searching for the man, whom she knew, who did it. Years later day she meets him on the street and demands to know about her son, now grown to manhood. The man, now calling himself Foster, escapes but Mary track him to his home. Foster's nephew comes in and announces that he has gotten married while in college. Foster is furious and threatens violence. That night he is found murdered and Peter is accused of the crime, and is put on trial. Mary testifies she was the one who murdered Foster. She is about to be sentenced when a detective brings in a confession from two burglars who admit killing Foster. Peter asks Mary who she is and she replies she is just "somebody's mother." Later, an old friend and a lawyer bring evidence that reunites Mary with her lost son, Peter.
- A society couple lose their two-year old son in ship-fire and a fireman, finding the child, adopts him. The society couple adopt a baby girl. Both children grow up and meet in later years but the girl has an affair with a rich profligate. Meanwhile, the boy has become a fireman and through his instrumentality the girl is saved from death in fire. She gives up the rich youth and marries the firefighter.
- Stranger joins girl in saving ranch from thieves. In developments, leader of gang is murdered and the stranger, thinking girl's brother guilty, takes blame and rides off. Later he manages to get thieves in tight corner and forces them to divulge identity of real murderer, who happened to be leader's lieutenant.
- A federal agent is sent to a small town to bust up a counterfeiting ring, which is apparently headquartered in the local railway station. The counterfeiters have framed the station's manager for the crime, and she must work with the agent to clear her name and get the goods on the real counterfeiters.
- Pat O'Farrell, a rich young man, takes a job as a truck-driver for his uncle's milk company, and falls in love with Cliare Knight, daughter of the Knight Car Company. Pat is financing "Dad" Perkins, who is working on a super-charger which Pat hopes to put on the Knight race-cars. Perkins tells Pat he has loaned the invention to lawyer Stanton Wade. Lawyer Wade has intention of keeping the device for his own benefit. Pat has no intentions of allowing that to happen.
