The 4 initial contestants were whittled down to 2 for a final round. The winner being either the player with the most points when the time ran out, or the first player to have answered enough questions to complete a circumnavigation of the globe. Winners had their points converted into air miles and progressed to a semi-final and then a final. The series champion won enough air miles for a trip around the world.

The results were truly amazing, hence the name, with our "nobody" meeting some fascinating people such as Jack the lobster fisherman in locations as grand as Lord Glasgow's Scottish castle and as beautiful as the Welsh Coast.
