Tributes and Trailers on "The Walking Dead" Panel
"The Walking Dead" panel began on a somber note as tribute was paid to stuntman John Bernecker, who died after falling from a balcony while filming a stunt for the upcoming season of the AMC show.
"We didn’t know if we should do this panel but we wanted to be here for you," said showrunner Scott M. Gimple, who then introduced a trailer for Season 8 as well as a retrospective of the show to date.
Opting out of using a moderator meant fans had more than 30 minutes to ask questions, ranging from the prospect of introducing karaoke to the show; expanding the franchise around the world; and paying tribute to legendary zombie director George A. Romero, who died on July 16.
