10. Suicide Squad mania takes over the convention.

According to our extremely unscientific observations, Suicide Squad character Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie was the most popular costume choice among Comic-Con cosplayers. Given that both Robbie and the film stayed in the Top 10 on our Trending List for the entire convention, we're inclined to think that she, and the film, were Comic-Con's MVPs.

Sophie Turner

9. The "Sansa Stark and Jon Snow as a Couple" theory gets vetoed.

During the "Game of Thrones" panel, a fan pointed out that, if Jon Snow and Sansa aren't really brother and sister, they could get together. Sophie Turner responded, "Ooh ... let's get the party started," before turning to the exec producers. "Dave and Dan," she declared, "If you make anything happen, I'll kill you."

Turner revealed that she doesn't have much faith in her character's "brother." She revealed, "I think she believed it was probably more of a joint effort in terms of the Battle of the Bastards. She thinks they should be King and Queen of the North. I’m not sure she thinks Jon is capable of running Winterfell and the North. She doesn’t think he has the intellect, the knowledge, and the experience that she has, and I concur.”

Benedict Cumberbatch

8. Doctor Strange pays a surprise visit to fans. Everyone knew Benedict Cumberbatch would be at Comic-Con. His film Doctor Strange was featured on the event's official posters. However, Cumberbatch became a surprise superhero to his fans when he visited the infamous Hall H line, where hundreds of people camp out overnight to attend the biggest panels. We think it's great that the actor let his famously devoted fans know that he appreciates their support.

Rami Malek and Grace Gummer at an event for Mr. Robot (2015)

7. "Mr. Robot” invites fans on a VR date with Elliot.

Our favorite offsite fan experience was the immersive VR "Mr. Robot" mini-episode. USA Network recreated both the 1990s Mr. Robot store, which featured some early 1980s computers like the Commodore 64, as well as Elliot's studio apartment. Fans could sit down on one of his chairs or even his bed and, through a VR headset and earphones, got to be the invisible chaperone on Elliot's date with his Season 1 love interest Shayla (Frankie Shaw) and see life through his eyes, while hearing the thoughts in his head. The experience stayed true to the show's TV-MA rating, which made for a truly trippy experience.

Chris Pratt at an event for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

6. Chris Pratt previewed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Fresh from wrapping production, Chris Pratt joined director James Gunn at the Marvel Studios panel to tease footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which teams up Yondu (Michael Rooker), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (which sent the crowd into "awwwws"). The scene played out as a jail-break caper with the incarcerated Rocket and Yondu enlisting Baby Groot to retrieve Yondu’s weapon. After multiple failed attempts (Baby Groot’s hilarious offerings included underwear, a toe, and a desk before actually bringing back Yondu’s weapon), the scene ends with Yondu's taking out the entire crew with his single whistling arrow, which hearkened back to an iconic scene in Guardians.

5. DC releases a surprise trailer for Justice League.

The thousands of fans who crowded into Hall H were delighted when, after the Wonder Woman presentation, a surprise trailer for Justice League was screened. The footage reveals that Bruce Wayne founds the organization without the help of Superman. Fortunately, Henry Cavill appeared to assure the crowd that Superman would be part of the film.

4. Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira join the cast of Black Panther.

Fans were already excited about the upcoming Black Panther. When Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o and "The Walking Dead" star Danai Gurira appeared on stage at the Marvel panel alongside co-stars Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan, that excitement turned to elation. Gurira will make her big-screen debut as Okoye, the head of the Dora Milaje, who are the personal bodyguards and potential queens of the unmarried King of Wakanda while Nyong'o will play Nakia, a member of the Dora Milaje.

3. The Wonder Woman trailer wows the crowd.

Brie Larson at an event for Kong: Skull Island (2017)

2. Brie Larson announced as Captain Marvel.

When Marvel Studios Co-President Kevin Feige invited all the casts from the Marvel movies onstage for a “Marvel family photo,” he included a surprise reveal: “If we’re actually going to do a big Marvel family photo, we should introduce the newest member of the Marvel family." He continued, "The newest person joining us ... Captain Marvel herself ... Brie Larson.” The fans were clearly happy with the casting (which had been rumored for months), because cheers erupted in Hall H at the announcement. The folks at home were equally intrigued; after the news broke, Larsen quickly jumped to number 1 on our Comic-Con trending list, and stayed there for hours.

1. The IMDboat Yacht-rocks with the stars.

While we're admittedly tooting our own horn, our yacht, anchored next to the convention center, won accolades from both stars and fans. Numerous members of Comic-Con's A-List, including the cast of "The Walking Dead" and Tatiana Maslany, climbed to the top deck to talk to our host Kevin Smith in a series of exclusive videos. A select group of fans got to enjoy our on-board lounge, and hundreds of guests partied the night away on Friday.
