Clara Oswald is the occasional "travelling assistant" to the Eleventh Doctor. The mysterious woman who is first introduced in "Asylum of the Daleks" as "Oswin Oswald". In this episode she is found out to be a human-Dalek with her old memories who hacks the entire Dalek race and wipes their memory of the Doctor.

Clara is then reintroduced in "The Snowmen" as merely "Clara", working two jobs, one as a nanny and the other as a barmaid. Clara chases down the Doctor several times and forces him into returning to his former ways of saving the world. She also has a history of saving the Doctor.

The Doctor thinks of her as "the only mystery worth solving."
