Bonanza: Season 2: Episode 17 -- Joe tries to stop a homesteader he finds starting a fire on the Ponderosa and ends up shooting him in self-defense. Feeling responsible for the dead man's daughter, Joe brings the petulant daughter Willow back to the Ponderosa.
Bonanza: Season 2: Episode 16 -- Ben sends Hoss and Joe to Sacremento to check on the widow of an old friend. Hoss falls in love with the woman, Helen Layton, and decides to bring her back to the Ponderosa. He intends to marry her, unaware that she is a chronic gambler.
Bonanza: Season 2: Episode 15 -- The son of Luke Grayson arrives from the East and learns that Ben Cartwright shot and killed his father. Ben fired only in self-defense and feels badly for the young man. Todd Grayson vows revenge.
Bonanza: Season 2: Episode 14 -- Hoss tries to help Arnie, a childlike hulking man with a dangerous temper and great strength. Things seem to be going well until Arnie falls for a saloon girl. Hoss soon realizes that he's facing an uphill battle.
