Jake Ryan is a fictional character from the teen TV series Hannah Montana played by Cody Martin Linley. He is the ideal[ized] boyfriend, and even the name of the character refers to the character of the same name in the film Sixteen Candles (1984).

Jake is the same age as Miley/Hannah, but with a difference: he has been famous since he was a baby who was the "face" of Wonder Diapers and he never left the limelight ever since and doesn't know how to be a normal teenage lad. He decides either feeling a need or in a publicity stunt to attend a normal school and he begins to attend the same class as Miley and Lilly.

His constant fame and his getting anything he wants without sweating for it makes Jake really obnoxious at times and yet he attempts at being normal by making adjustments to his life that really don't go well. Miley/Hannah at first disses him for being a self-obsessed person, but in time falls for him and they begin to date, sharing some secrets with each other, too. However, Jake's inability to cope with a normal life and Miley's problems with Jake's fanbase following them everywhere creates problems. So, Jake is yet to find out about becoming a normal, regular person and that is a big test for him.
