Mulan (1998)
Shang: What's your name?
Mulan: Uh... I, I, uh...
Chi Fu: Your commanding officer just asked you a question.
Mulan: Uh, I've got a name. Ha! And it's a boy's name, too.
Mushu: [whispering in Mulan's ear] Ling. How 'bout Ling?
Mulan: [looking toward Ling] His name is Ling.
Shang: I didn't ask for *his* name. I asked for *yours!*
Mushu: Try, uh, uh, ah, Chu.
Mulan: Ah Chu.
Shang: Ah Chu?
Mushu: Gesundheit.
Mushu: [chuckles] I kill myself.
Mulan: Mushu...
Shang: Mushu?
Mulan: No!
Shang: Then what is it?
Mushu: Ping! Ping was my best friend growin' up.
Mulan: It's Ping.
Shang: Ping?
Mushu: Of course, Ping did steal my girl...
[Mulan muffles him]
Mulan: Yes, my name is Ping.

Mushu: My powers are beyond your mortal imagination. For instance, my eyes can see straight through your armor.
[Mushu's eyes move towards Mulan's chest; she smacks him]
Mushu: Oooh! All right, that's it! Dishonor! Dishonor on your whole family!
[to Cri-Kee]
Mushu: Make a note of this: dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow, dis...
[Mulan covers his mouth with her hand]
Mulan: Stop. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm just nervous. I've never done this before.
Mushu: Then you're gonna have to trust me. And don't you slap me no more. We clear on that? All right. Okey-dokey, let's get this show on the road! Cri-Kee, get the bags.
[to the horse, Khan]
Mushu: Let's move it, heifer.

Mushu: [stuffing breakfast into Mulan's mouth] No time to talk. Now remember, it's your first day of trainin', so listen to your teacher and no fightin', play nice with the other kids, unless, of course, one of the other kids wanna fight, then you have to kick the other kid's butt.
Mulan: [muffled] But I don't wanna kick the other kid's butt.
Mushu: Don't talk with your mouth full. Now let's see your war face.
[Mulan looks at him with mouth full of porridge]
Mushu: Ooh, I think my bunny slippers just ran for cover. Come on, scare me, girl!
Mulan: Rrrgh!
Mushu: There! That's what I'm talking about! That's my tough-looking warrior girl! Now go out there and make me proud!

Mulan: My ancestors sent a little lizard to help me?
Mushu: Hey! Dragon. *Dra-gon*, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

Mulan: Just because I look like a man doesn't mean I have to smell like one.
Mushu: So a couple of guys don't rinse out their socks. Picky, picky, picky. Well, myself, I kinda like that corn chip smell.

Fa Zhou: Mulan...
Mulan: [kneels] Father. I brought you the sword of Shan-Yu, and the crest of the Emperor. They're gifts, to honor the Fa family.
[Fa Zhou drops the sword and crest on the ground and embraces Mulan]
Fa Zhou: The greatest gift and honor... is having you for a daughter.

Mulan: [Mulan and Mushu escape back to shore from Yao, Ling, and Chin-Po] Boy, that was close.
Mushu: No...
Mushu: [brushes his teeth] That was vile! You owe me big.
[Mushu squirts more toothpaste in his mouth and brushes again]
Mulan: I never want to see a naked man again.
[a big group of naked men run past them, laughing]
Mushu: Hey, don't look at me, I ain't biting no more butts.

Yao: [at the waterhole] Hey, Ping.
Mulan: Oh, hi, guys. I didn't know you were here. I was just washing, so now I'm clean, and I'm gonna go. Bye-bye!
Ling: Come back here! I knew we were jerks to you before, so, let's start over. Hi, I'm Ling.
Chien-Po: And I'm Chien-Po.
Mulan: Hello, Chien-Po.
Yao: [standing naked on a rock] And I am Yao, king of the rock!
[mildly sneering]
Yao: And there's nuttin' you girls can do about it.
Ling: Oh, yeah? Well, I think Ping and I can take you.
Mulan: I really don't want to take him anywhere.
Ling: Ping, we have to fight.
Mulan: No, we don't. We could just... close our eyes... and - swim around...
Ling: [pulling on Mulan's arm] Come on, don't be such a gir... Ouch! Something bit me!
Mushu: Ugh! Ach! What a nasty flavor.
Ling: Snake!
[Ling and Chien-Po scramble onto the rock with Yao, while Mulan sneaks away]
Ling: Some king of the rock.
[Yao pushes him off]

Shang: I don't need anyone causing trouble in my camp.
Mulan: Sorry...
Mulan: [in her 'man' voice] Uhh... I mean, uh, sorry you had to see that, but you know how it is when you get those, uh, manly urges, and you just gotta kill somethin'... fix things, uh, cook outdoors...

Mulan: You're, um...
Mushu: Intimidating? Awe-inspiring?
Mulan: Tiny.
Mushu: Of course. I'm travel-size for your convenience. If I was my real size, your cow here would die of fright.
[Khan snaps at Mushu]
Mushu: Down, Bessie.

Mulan: It's going to take a miracle to get me into the army.
[Mushu's shadow appears in giantic form and surrounded by flames]
Mushu: Did I hear someone ask for a miracle? Let me hear you say "aaah"!
Mulan: [in fear] Aaah!
Mushu: That's close enough!
Mulan: A ghost.
Mushu: Get ready, Mulan, your serpentine salvation is at hand! For I have been sent by your ancestors... to guide you through your masquerade.

Mulan: Okay. Any questions?
Yao: Does this dress make me look fat?

Mulan: You shouldn't have to go!
Fa Li: Mulan!
Mulan: There are plenty of young men to fight for China!
Fa Zhou: It is an honor to protect my country and my family.
Mulan: So you'll die for honor.
Fa Zhou: I will die doing what's right!
Mulan: But if you...
Fa Zhou: I know my place! It is time you learned yours.

Yao: My girl will think I have no faults...
Chien-Po: That I'm a major find.
Mulan: Uh... How about a girl who's got a brain, who always speaks her mind?
Yao, Chien-Po, Ling: Nah!

Mulan: Who are you?
Mushu: Who am I? Who am I? I am the guardian of lost souls! I am the powerful, the pleasurable, the indestructible Mushu!
[revealing himself]
Mushu: Oh. Ha, ha. Pretty hot, huh?

Mulan: Shang!
Shang: Mulan?
Mulan: The Huns are alive! They're in the city!
Shang: You don't belong here, Mulan. Go home.
Mulan: Shang, I saw them in the mountains. You have to believe me!
Shang: Why should I?
Mulan: Why else would I come back? You said you'd trust Ping. Why is Mulan any different?

Matchmaker: Fa Mulan.
Mulan: Present!
Matchmaker: [writing] Speaking without permission...
Mulan: Oops.

[on the troops]
Mushu: Beautiful, isn't it?
Mulan: They're disgusting.
Mushu: No, they're men. And you'll have to act just like them, so pay attention.

Shang: [nervously struggling to tell Mulan he loves her] Um... You... You fight good.
[a disbelieving look crosses Shang's face]
Mulan: [disappointed] Oh. Thank you.

Shang: Let me see your conscription notice.
[Reads it]
Shang: Fa Zhou? The Fa Zhou?
Chi Fu: I didn't know Fa Zhou had a son.
Mulan: Well, he doesn't talk about me much.
[Tries to spit, but ends up with a glop of spit hanging from her lip]
Chi Fu: I can see why. The boy is an absolute lunatic.

Fa Zhou: I am ready to serve the emperor.
Mulan: Father! You can't go!
Fa Zhou: Mulan!
Mulan: Please, sir. My father has already fought for...
Chi Fu: Silence! You would do well to teach your daughter to hold her tongue in a man's presence.
Fa Zhou: Mulan, you dishonor me.

Mulan: No one will listen to me.
Mushu: Huh? I'm sorry, did you say something?
Mulan: Mushu!
Mushu: Hey, you're a girl again. Remember?

Mulan: Get off the roof, get off the roof, get off the roof!
Mulan: [Grabs Mushu and Cri-kee and jumps]

Shan-Yu: Looks like you're all out of ideas.
[he stabs at her with his sword; she dodges, catches the sword with the fan and twists it out of his hands]
Mulan: Not quite.

Mulan: Mushu, if you're so worried, go stand watch.
Mushu: Yeah, yeah.
Mushu: [talking and acting like a girl] Stand watch, Mushu, while I blow our secret with my stupid girly habits. Pfft! Hygiene.

Shan-Yu: You took away my victory!
[Mulan's shoe hits his head]
Mulan: No!
[Shan-Yu faces Mulan]
Mulan: I did.
[she pulls back her hair so that Shan-Yu recognizes her]
Shan-Yu: The soldier from the mountains...
[Mulan runs off with Shan-Yu following]

Man with Tattoo: [Mulan is watching Yao and Ling talk to a new recruit who is showing off his tattoo] This tattoo will protect me from harm.
Yao: Hmmm...
[punches the recruit who falls]
Ling: [laughs] I hope you can get your money back!
Mulan: I don't think I can do this.

Mulan: [singing] Look at me... I will never pass for a perfect bride. Or a perfect daughter. Can it be, I'm not meant to play this part? Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart. Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Somehow I cannot hide who I am, though I've tried. When will my reflection show who I am inside?

Mulan: With all due respect, Your Excellency, I think I've been away from home long enough.
The Emperor of China: Then, take this.
[removes his crest from around his neck and puts it around Mulan's]
The Emperor of China: So your family will know what you have done for me. And this.
[hands her the sword of Shan Yu]
The Emperor of China: So the world will know what you have done for China.

Mulan: [to Shang] Would you like to stay for dinner?
Grandmother Fa: [Yelling in the background] Would you like to stay forever?

Chi Fu: Be careful, Captain. The General may be your father, but I am the Emperor's counsel. Oh, and by the way, I got that job on my own.
[Li Shang walks out of his tent and passes Mulan]
Mulan: Hey. I'll hold him, and you punch!

Bather: [singing] We'll have you washed and dried, / primped and polished till you glow with pride. / Trust my recipe for instant bride. / You'll bring honor to us all.
Fa Li: [seeing the notes Mulan has written on her arm] Mulan, what's this?
Mulan: [nervously] Uh, notes, in case I forget something?
Grandmother Fa: [handing Cri-Kee's cage over] Hold this. We need more luck than I thought.

Mulan: [singing] Ancestors, hear my plea: help me not to make a fool of me, and to not uproot my family tree. Keep my father standing tall.

Chien-Po: [singing] I'm never gonna catch my breath!
Yao: Say goodbye to those who knew me!
Ling: Boy was I a fool in school for cutting gym!
Mushu: [speak-singing] This guy's got her scared to death!
Mulan: [singing] Hope he doesn't see right through me!
Chien-Po: Now I really wish that I knew how to swim!

Mulan II (2004) (V)
Fa Mulan: Your Majesty, an arranged marriage?

Fa Mulan: Mushu! What're you doing here?
Mushu: Hey, wherever you go, I go, girl!
Fa Mulan: [laughs]

Fa Mulan: But I have another duty... to my heart.

Fa Mulan: [to Mushu] You're my most trusted friend!
[hugs him]
Mushu: [starting to cry] Oh, that did it!

Captain Li Shang: [to the Emperor] This mission does not call for force, but finesse. I know just the men.
Fa Mulan: China's most honored and noble soldiers.
[Yao, Ling, and Chien-Po tumble clumsily out from the matchmaker's house in the next shot]

Mushu: It seems like only last month, you and me were fightin' off the Huns and saving China!
Fa Mulan: It WAS last month.

Captain Li Shang: [storming over to Mulan] Mulan!
Fa Mulan: Why hello, General. Out on night maneuvers?
Captain Li Shang: General Hardhead?
[makes a silly yet glaring face]
Captain Li Shang: Brushing my teeth?
Fa Mulan: Is - something wrong?
Captain Li Shang: [scolding Mulan] I heard you, Mulan. Every word.
[covers his mouth]
Fa Mulan: Every word of what?
Captain Li Shang: Don't play coy; I saw you outside my tent!
Fa Mulan: What? I haven't left my post!
Captain Li Shang: And I suppose you weren't gossiping about me with the princesses?
Fa Mulan: Shang, did that dip in the river get you water-logged? And - why are you talking with your hand over your mouth?
Captain Li Shang: I wouldn't want to peel your PAINT!
[storms away while Mulan looks on, shocked]
Yao: [watching Shang leave] Changing of the guard.
Captain Li Shang: And next time, DON'T LEAVE YOUR POST!
Fa Mulan: Hmph!
Yao: What's with him?
Fa Mulan: [growls in frustration]
Yao: What's with her? Who'm I talkin' to?

Captain Li Shang: No, I'm the one who should be sorry. A good leader is opened up to new ideas. Forgive me?
Fa Mulan: [Mulan takes his hand and smiles] Ah, there's nothing to forgive.

Captain Li Shang: [after being asked about having children] As many as possible!
Fa Mulan: Oh, maybe one or two!

Fa Mulan: [after being asked if their wedding is going to be big] Absolutely!
Captain Li Shang: Oh ho, no! Blue!
Fa Mulan: Pink!
Captain Li Shang: Mild.
Fa Mulan: Spicy!
Captain Li Shang: Yes!
Fa Mulan: No!

Fa Mulan: What is it with men and asking directions?
Captain Li Shang: What is it with women and maps?

Captain Li Shang: [rubbing the back of his head and peeking his head in Mulan's room] Mulan? Seems your grandma invited someone to help us celebrate the engagement.
Fa Mulan: [making a face] Really?... Who?
Captain Li Shang: [both looking outside at a whole crowd of people in Mulan's front yard] China.
Crowd: Congratulations!
[cheers and applause]

Captain Li Shang: Now *this* is a battlefield.
Fa Mulan: What's our strategy, General?
Captain Li Shang: Divide and conquer.
[both laugh]

Fa Mulan: [singing] Like a cloud, you are soft. Like bamboo, you bend in the wind. Creeping slow, you're at peace because you know... it's okay to be afraid.

Fa Mulan: [singing] You have begun!
Children: [singing] Lesson number lesson number lesson number lesson number le-sson num-ber one!

Mulan: Rise of a Warrior (2009)
Wentai: Your short temper in battle caused the death of so many of our men, can you see that?
Hua Mulan: It's all my fault. It's all on me. I shouldn't have gone to you, but I was terrified that you wouldn't come back. I've lost so many brothers, I can't bear to lose you.
Wentai: Your father was right. We cannot develop feelings in battle.
Hua Mulan: If you were me, wouldn't you have come?
Wentai: I wouldn't.

Hua Mulan: I don't want to fight any more. I don't want to be a General. I want to be a normal person.
Wentai: Who wants to fight? I also don't want to fight any more! If I could use my life to stop this battle, I would have done it a long time ago! The problem is, we cannot choose. Once you put on a General's armour, your life is no longer your own.

Hua Mulan: What are you doing? Give it back!
[referring to dogtags Fei Xiaohu tore down]
Fei Xiaohu: Are you living for the dead or for the living?
Hua Mulan: Give them back!
Fei Xiaohu: There are things you must do! It's your duty! You are no longer the Sister Mulan I adored. Because you wanted to escape, you caused the death of Brother Wentai, and you will cause the death of many of our brothers in the future. You are so selfish!

Hua Mulan: The General Hua you see before you is actually terrified of battle. I had been afraid and hiding all along. But I never thought my fear and hiding would cause the loss of the most important friend in my life. His departure lets me understand fleeing from the endless battles only makes us lose even more!

Hua Mulan: Today we will stain the battlefield with our blood. Behind us is our homeland. If we have to bleed out our last drop of blood, if we have to become bleached bones in this desert, we must defend it to the death! We must let the Rourans know we Wei warriors will never surrender and will never compromise! Soldiers may rebel against me, generals may leave me for dead, but I, Hua Mulan, will never betray my country!

Hua Mulan: I never imagined I would achieve any accomplishments, not to mention that one day I would become a butcher on the battlefield. In these twelve years, my heart has never felt at ease. Princess, only when we resolve the cause of this war can we stop the war itself. Your own fate as well as that of the whole world is in your hands.

Wentai: Let's go away together! Doesn't matter where.
Hua Mulan: You once said, if you could give your life to end this war, you would do it.
Wentai: It's easy for me to give up my life, but it's too difficult to give up the woman I love.
Hua Mulan: In order that there be no more Tigers, that no more families end up with just a bloody dog tag...
Wentai: I understand.
[long pause]
Wentai: Forget about me.
Hua Mulan: For twelve years, every day I wake up on the battlefield, my first thought is of you. Knowing you are there gives me the courage to open my eyes. Forever after, it will still be the same every day.

Hua Mulan: Someone once said, go too far from home and you will lose your roots. Kill too many people and you will forget yourself. If you die in battle, your life will sink into the ground like rain and vanish without a trace. If at that time, you fall in love with someone, hope will blossom again from the earth and embrace life with passion. Wentai, thank you.

Emma Swan: Pretty sure I've dated a few.

Mulan: Aurora, you've gotta keep up.
Princess Aurora: Sorry, but I'm not exactly dressed for the woods. It's cold out here!
Mulan: Then maybe you should've listened to me and stayed back.
Emma Swan: [handing her jacket to Aurora] Here.
Princess Aurora: But I... tried to kill your friend.
Emma Swan: Actually, she's my mom. I have a feeling she can take care of herself.

Mulan: [of Emma's gun] Is it magic?
Emma Swan: Depends on who's pulling the trigger.

Princess Aurora: You're not the only one who knows about sacrifice.

Mulan: I'm in a story?

Mulan: What's a movie?

Mulan: Can I ask you a question?
Neal Cassidy: Yeah, I don't know how to explain what a movie is.

[four women are arguing about who should partner up with Hook to get the compass]
Mulan: All due respect, I'm the best-equipped to go. How many wars have you been through?
Mary Margaret Blanchard: My share...
Princess Aurora: It should be me.
Mulan: You? You haven't fought in a battle.
Mary Margaret Blanchard: This is about us getting home to *our* loved ones. Why would you...?
Princess Aurora: I have no loved ones. If I fail, you can still go on.
Emma Swan: It's me. I'm going, and I'm not gonna fail.
Mary Margaret Blanchard: You're new here.
Emma Swan: It's about getting back to Henry. I don't care what I have to face. - You're not gonna argue with me?
Mary Margaret Blanchard: Would it do any good?
Emma Swan: No.

"Once Upon a Time: Into the Deep (#2.8)" (2012)
[Mulan is concerned that Aurora puts herself in danger for Emma's and Mary Margaret's cause]
Mulan: You're choosing to go in deeper and staying under longer to find this boy. I vowed to Prince Phillip to protect you, not to help some strangers find a portal to another land.
Princess Aurora: Mulan, I was cursed to spend eternity in that horrible sleep. And the only reason I'm here is because you and Phillip risked your lives to save me. Every day since my waking has been a gift, so let me do something with it. It's my turn to help someone else.
