An intellectual songwriter and performer, Mike Nesmith is one of a quartet of struggling West Coast musicians, known as The Monkees, striving for success in the entertainment industry. Born in Texas, Mike's family background is largely unknown other than his Aunt Kate and his cousins, who own a ranch that Mike and his pals visited in a time of trouble.
