"Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (#1.0)" (1993)
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: I believe I spelled that out quite clearly, that's Michael with an 'A'. My father was expecting a male.
Rev. Timothy Johnson: So was I.

Rev. Timothy Johnson: This is most embarrassing, Miss Quinn, and I want to apologize for the inconvenience. But we will, of course, pay your way back to Boston.
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: That won't be necessary, thank you. Colorado Springs needs a doctor and I happen to be one.

Rev. Timothy Johnson: There are no respectable, single women living in Colorado Springs.
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: That's a shame, Reverend. Every town should have at least one.

[first lines]
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: [voiceover narration] I was born on February 15, 1833, in Boston, Massachusetts, the last of five children - the four before me all girls. My father, being a man of science, firmly believed that the odds were to finally dictate the birth of a long awaited son. He would be named Michael... I was named Michaela.

Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: [voiceover narration] I found an advertisement in "The Globe" for a town doctor in Colorado Territory. I sent a telegram detailing my experience and in less than a week, I received a reply offering me the position. It was the frontier, a place where people made new beginnings, a place where my services would be needed, where my skills would be appreciated, where I would finally be accepted as a doctor...

"Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: Bad Water (#1.6)" (1993)
Olive Davis: You wouldn't be fixin' to go get that water now?
Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: What makes you think that?

Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: Someone has to stop Harding before its too late.
Olive Davis: Sully going with you?
Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: He wants to go alone. Says I'll slow him down.
Olive Davis: Well you ride as well as he does. Must be another reason.
Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: Well it is rough country, could be dangerous.
Olive Davis: You know what I think... I think he's scared to be out there alone with ya.
Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: Oh, why would he be scared of that?
Olive Davis: I can't image. Can you?
[Dr Mike and Olive both smile then laugh]

Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: Why didn't you wake me?
Byron Sully: Said we'd leave at sun up.
Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: Could've at least given me a warning.
Byron Sully: I just did! Better hurry up and pack up all that junk.
Dr. Michaela 'Dr. Mike' Quinn: It's not junk
Byron Sully: Please don't be using that fancy soap because if I can smell it then everybody else can to.
Byron Sully: Knew this was a bad idea.

Byron Sully: It's gonna be alright. Anytime you need any holdin'... just ask.
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: You don't mind?
Byron Sully: Mind?

Byron Sully: You were taught alot of things you never paid no attention to.
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: Truly believe it's alright?
Byron Sully: Truly. You know what the Cheyenne ask a young man who's just taken a wife?

Byron Sully: Like what?
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: Like the hayride tonight.
Byron Sully: [Sully moves on to the next boot] Did you ever go on a hayride?
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: We didn't have them in Boston.
Byron Sully: Somethin' like it?

Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: I... I... I don't feel she's ready to be running around.
Byron Sully: Can we talk about this some other time?
Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn: She knows so little.
Byron Sully: She's delivered a baby, She's sewn up a bullet would.
