Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer)

Lady Anne Boleyn is the second wife of King Henry VIII.

Although she begins life as a lady-in-waiting to Katherine of Aragon, Anne is being used to attract Henry from the start by her father and uncle as a means to bring about the downfall of Cardinal Wolsey. She is single-minded in her pursuit of the king and is ultimately successful in attracting his attentions.

Like those around her Anne is cunning and able to see the bigger picture and look after her interests in the long haul, including telling the king what he needs to hear to force him to pursue annulment of his marriage to Katherine in order to take Anne as his wife as opposed to simply a consort.

During a time of great political and religious turbulence, Anne, and those aiding her seduction of the king --including her father George and the Dukes of Norfolk and Suffolk-- is a staunch reformer.

Anne is a smart girl, ambitious, passionate, and fiery. Although she is dedicated to the church she is not above understanding real world concerns. Although she is calculating she is loyal to those she loves and occasionally displays a soft heart. Her pursuit of the king though conniving, is not without actual affection.
