Merlin is the wizard that helpsKing Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table with his magic. He is a powerful sorcerer.

The sword Arthur weilds, Excalibur, isinfused with Merlin's magic, and thus has magical powers itself.

His wife is the fairy known as the Lady of the Lake. She told him that Arthur was destined to be king of England. Thus, he created Excalibur and put on a spell on it so that only Arthur could remove. Then, he challenged the whole kingdom to remove it, proclaiming that whoever pulled it out would become king of England. When Arthur removed it, he was crowned as king.

"Excalibur" is an action movie detailing the legendof King Arthur, and Merlin is aprominent character there.

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" Merlin played by John Cleese. Merlin wears Goat Horns on his head, Merlin warns everybody about a Killer Animal, but King Arthur doesn't listen. The Animal kills Agravaine, Calogrenant, Gaheris, Gareth, Geraint, Kay, Lamorak, Palamedes, Percival, Sagramore, Tristan and Ywain.

"Quest for Camelot" is an animated movie by Warner Bros where a villain steals Excalibur and takes over thekingdom. Merlin hides Excalibur in the middleof a forest so that it can be used to defeat the villain. Since Arthur is rendered helpless, it's up to two villagers called Kylie and Garret to rescue Excalibur and save the kingdom.

The Disney movie "The Sword in the Stone" depicts Arthur's childhood under thecareof Merlin. There, Merlin is portrayed as a playful trickster.

The Disney version of Merlin appeared as oneof the guests in "House of Mouse".

He appears in "Kingdom Hearts" and "Kingdom Hearts II", helping Sora, Goofy and Donald with his magic.

He also appears in "Shrek the Third" as a spritual guide and friend of Artie. He helps Shrek and his friends with his magic, even if he bumbles a bit.

"King Arthur" is a Nolanized, realistic account of the legend of King Arthur. There, Merlin doesn't have actual magical powers and is just your typical witch doctor.

Merlin appears in the Mexican "Santa Claus" movie shown on "Mystery Science Theater 3000", helping Santa Claus with his magic.
