The Beast is one of the title characters from the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast".
He was once a selfish, greedy prince. One day, a poor young beggar asked him for shelter for the night, and he refused. What he didn't know is that the beggar was actually an enchantress, and she put a spell on his and his servants, turning him into a monster and turning his servants into objects. She then gave him a rose. If he could find true love before the last petal of the rose falls, the spell will be broken. If the last petal falls and he still didn't find true love, he and his servants will be stuck like that forever.
This events caused him to become angry and bitter.
Years later, a young woman of the local village named Belle stopped by her palace asking for shelter. Having learned his lesson, the Beast let her in. They quickly became friends, and the Beast finally found peace in his heart. As the time passed by, they fell in love. But a misogynistic, chauvinistic man called Gaston wouldn't stand for that, since he wanted to marry Belle as a trophy wife. He quickly rallied a mob and went to storm the castle. The servants quickly defeated the mob, leaving Gaston alone to kill the Beast. After a fight on the balcony of the palace, Beast refused to kill Gaston, since he was a good man and didn't want to stoop to his level. Still, Gaston charged the Beast in a blind rage, and ended up falling from the balcony to his death. After that, the last petal of the rose fell, and since the Beast was truly in love with Belle, the spell broke and he became human again. Belle and the Prince married soon after.
In "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas", which takes place in the middle of the movie, Beast decides to celebrate his first Christmas, but one of his servants, Forte (who has been turned into a piano) tries to separate Belle from the Beast, thinking the spell actually did good to him. In the end, he dies trying to kill them, and Belle and the Beast celebrate Christmas.
