Jack Burton (Character)
from Big Trouble in Little China (1986)

San Francisco, CA-Jack Burton is possibly the greatest hero to ever walk the Earth at least in his own mind. With the help of his friend Wang Chi and his quick reflexes, he saved Chinatown and possibly the entire world. Some people would say that it was Wang Chi who saved the world, but I'd like to think that Jack played a small part. That's how the story begins very small.

Jack Burton is a long-haul truck driver who delivers pigs and pork products around the country in his semi named The Pork Chop Express. The truck is rumored to register at 6.9 on the Richter scale. He also dabbles in amateur broadcast radio and shares his wisdom over the CB radio.

Jack Burton took part in the epic battle between the Wing Kong ruled by Lo Pan and the Chang Sings led by Egg Shen. Jack fought on the side of Egg Shen against the dreaded sorcerer, Lo Pan. Lo Pan was a great warrior who was defeated by the first sovereign emperor of China and cursed with 'No Flesh'. In order to become flesh again, Lo Pan needed to sacrifice a girl with green-eyes.

Wang Chi's green-eyed girlfriend had recently been kidnapped by the Lo Pan's Lords of Death street gang. Jack Burton volunteered to help out of the kindness of his heart and in order to get his truck back. His beloved Pork Chop Express was stolen after the arrival of the three storms, Rain, Thunder and Lighting during the initial battle between the Wing Kong and the Chang Sings.

Jack Burton's quick-wit and catchphrases have become legendary along with his exploits. I don't think the operators of the Dragon of the Black Pool restaurant or trouble-making lawyer, Gracie Law will ever forget Jack Burton or his eloquent quotations. Son of a bitch must pay, says so much.

During the struggle to rescue Wang Chis girlfriend, Miao Yin from the Wing Kong exchange, Jack Burton's love interest, Gracie Law, was kidnapped by one Lo Pan's Monsters.

In a hopeless effort to rescue the girls, Jack and Wang return to the Wing Kong Exchange along with the sorcerer Egg Shen, and a small army of Chang Sings, the mortal enemies of Lo Pan and the Wing Kong.

After defeating Lo Pan, Jack Burton left Gracie Law without even a kiss. After saying goodbye to his warrior friends: Eddie, Egg Shen, and Wang Chi he drove off into the night. He was never seen again but my guess is that he is off battling evil in another dimension.

However, if know the current whereabouts of one Jack Burton, please contact Egg Shen's lawyer. Jack is wanted for questioning for an explosion at the Wing Kong Exchange in 1986. It could prove vital to an ongoing investigation as to why an entire city block exploded in green flame, Green Flame!
