"24: 12:00 a.m.-1:00 a.m. (#1.1)" (2001)
Nina Myers: You're lying.
Jack Bauer: Yes I am. But you're still going to have to trust me.

Jack Bauer: [to George Mason] Why don't you explain it to me. You've got five seconds.
[prepares to press *enter* button on laptop]

George Mason: You have no idea what you're getting yourself into.
Jack Bauer: Why don't you explain it to me. You've got five seconds.
[prepares to press *enter* button on laptop]

Kimberly Bauer: So, is she still giving you the cold shoulder?
Jack Bauer: If by "she" you're referring to your mother, I'd appreciate if you called her by her name. Mom. And no, she's just busy.
Kimberly Bauer: She's busy a lot.

[Phone conversation]
Vincent: Hello?
Jack Bauer: Vincent, Jack Bauer. You planning on seeing Kimberly tonight?
Vincent: No way, man. We broke up, you know that.
Jack Bauer: I just wanted to make sure you knew that.
Vincent: Chill, man. I don't know where she is. You've got my word.
Jack Bauer: That's a real comfort, Vincent, knowing I've got your word.

Jack Bauer: You can look the other way once, and it's no big deal, except it makes it easier for you to compromise the next time, and pretty soon that's all you're doing; compromising, because that's the way you think things are done. You know those guys I busted? You think they were the bad guys? Because they weren't, they weren't bad guys, they were just like you and me. Except they compromised... Once.

Jack Bauer: My name is Jack Bauer, and this is the longest day of my life.

Jack Bauer: I was thinking we should try to remember what it was like when we were kids.
Teri Bauer: It's a different world now, Jack.
Jack Bauer: Yeah, I know.

Jack Bauer: Tony. I need detailed background on everyone on Senator Palmer's staff now.
Tony Almeida: Why?
Jack Bauer: Because I think this is about him and I want us to be prepared.
Tony Almeida: If it leaks out that we're screening Senator Palmer, people might think it's because he's black.
Jack Bauer: Well, it is because he's black. It makes him the most likely target.

Richard Walsh: How are you doing?
Jack Bauer: I can't complain.
Richard Walsh: Can't or won't?

Jack Bauer: George. I need you to do me a favor. I need you to call your boss so I can get clearance on the identification of the source.
George Mason: I thought we just agreed that it didn't matter.
Jack Bauer: Yeah, but I still have to call Walsh and tell him I did everything I could. I would like to cover my own ass.
George Mason: Jack, you're finally learning how to play the game.

"24: Live Another Day: 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (#1.4)" (2014)
Jack Bauer: With all due respect Mr. President, it was YOUR State Department that labeled me a terrorist and made me a wanted man. A man who was never even offered an opportunity to tell his side of the story, which by the way sir, I felt I had EARNED. So no, sir. I did not feel comfortable going to TALK to you people. I knew I either had to arrive with the device or evidence that the device existed. That would be the only way they'd believe me... the only way YOU would believe me.

President James Heller: I'm told you just shot two people out in front of the embassy.
Jack Bauer: I barely grazed them, sir.
President James Heller: How do you know that?
Jack Bauer: Because I pulled the trigger.

Kate Morgan: But you do have another option. You can give me the flight key, and I can finish the upload for you and get it out of here.
Jack Bauer: Why the hell should I trust you?
Kate Morgan: Because I really do believe you. And 'cause you don't have another play.

Jack Bauer: I know your drone was hijacked.
Chris Tanner: You know I'm innocent?
Jack Bauer: Yes, I do. The technology that was used to control your drone is gonna be used in a massive terrorist attack against civilians later today. The only way that I can stop that attack from happening is from the data from your flight key. Lieutenant, please, where are they holding it?
Chris Tanner: Wait, how do I know whether or not to believe you?
Jack Bauer: Son, right now the point is that I believe you. From everything that I can see, no one else does. You want your name cleared? I'm your only shot.

President James Heller: Jack? It's me.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President.
President James Heller: Be honest with you, Jack, I never thought I'd have to hear your voice again. I liked it that way.

Jack Bauer: Mr. President, I'm here because I believe the U.S. drone fleet is vulnerable and will be used in a terrorist attack later today.
President James Heller: Explain that, Jack.
Jack Bauer: A hacker by the name of Derrick Yates created an override device, which can take control of as many as ten U.S. drones. I believe he's the one who hijacked Lieutenant Tanner's drone and used it as a test flight to prove to his buyers that the device worked. Shortly after that, I found him murdered. Now I believe that the device is in the hands of Margot Al-Harazi, a known terrorist. Mr. President, I promise you, she will use this device without mercy.

Jack Bauer: Sir, whatever differences we had, I never lied to you. I always told you the truth, and I'm telling you the truth now, and I suggest you believe it.

Jack Bauer: This is Jack Bauer. Who am I talking to?
Kevin Cordero: My name is Captain Kevin Cordero. Mr. Bauer, I'm sure we'd both like to find a way to end this situation without loss of life, yours or the hostages'. Now, I'd like us to work together...
Jack Bauer: Captain, the situation is simple: I have three hostages. Keep your men back and no one gets harmed. Make a move on this room, and I kill all three of them. Are we clear?
Kevin Cordero: Loud and clear.
[hanging up]
Kevin Cordero: We go in. I'm not giving that son of a bitch a chance to fire on my men again.
Jack Bauer: [inside the room, his hostages cower in fear] I need them to take me seriously. I have no intention of hurting any of you.

"24: Live Another Day: 8:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (#1.10)" (2014)
Erik Ritter: I'm getting authorization to have him sent down to special activities for enhanced interrogation.
Jack Bauer: That's not gonna work. Navarro was in covert ops. He's been trained to resist those exact same techniques.
Erik Ritter: What do you suggest?
Jack Bauer: Let me talk to him.
Erik Ritter: Bauer...
Jack Bauer: He views you and everybody else here as a subordinate. He will not be afraid of you. But he knows my history.
Erik Ritter: Okay. Okay, you can talk to him. Soon as he's set up in interrogation. But if you cross the line, I'm pulling you.
Jack Bauer: Just so we're clear, I wasn't asking. That was me being courteous.

Jack Bauer: I'm going to ask you one last time nicely. Where's the override device?
Steve Navarro: Come on now. You and I both know they're not going to let you hurt me. Agent Ritter is acting Head of Station, and there's no way he's going to let you screw up his career. Let's face it, Jack. Anything you say or do between now and me getting that immunity is just a waste of time. Tick-tock.
Jack Bauer: Well, I can assure you full immunity is not on the table. But your hand is.
Steve Navarro: [screams]

Steve Navarro: I put a tracker on the device. I can tell you where it is.
Kate Morgan: You lying bastard!
Jack Bauer: Please, put the weapon down and let him talk!
Steve Navarro: I can give you the tracker's code.
Kate Morgan: I don't believe you. I'm going to put a bullet in your head!
Jack Bauer: Kate, Kate! Put the weapon down!
Steve Navarro: Three, eight, four, six, nine, romeo. Three, alpha, four, six, nine, romeo. That's the code. I'm telling you the truth.
Kate Morgan: Did you get that?
Jack Bauer: Gavin?
Gavin Leonard: Running the trace now. Seems to be legit. It's already triangulating within a four mile area.
Jack Bauer: Copy that. He's logging onto the override device. It worked.
Kate Morgan: You're done. You're going to be executed for murder and for treason. And I'm going to be there to watch.

Kate Morgan: The last time I saw my husband, he was in custody. We were going to go over his appeal. He was really happy to see me until he realized that I no longer believed him. I'll never forget the look in his eyes. I know that was the moment that he decided to take his own life. Not because he was convicted, but because I had deserted him. How am I supposed to live with that?
Jack Bauer: You just do.

Kate Morgan: I don't need you to say anything.
Jack Bauer: I know. At least your husband's name has been cleared.
Kate Morgan: Oh, it's too late for that, Jack. My husband got a life sentence, and a month into it he hung himself, all because of that son of a bitch who I thought was my friend.

Jack Bauer: [to Kate] I have to interrogate Navarro. We need to find the override device. You need to decide whether or not you want to stay in. Nobody would fault you in you chose to step aside, especially me.

Jack Bauer: Gavin, this is Bauer. Do you have a lock on that location yet?
Gavin Leonard: Affirmative. Two-story building, four ground entrances. I'm showing satellite uplinks, several T1 trunk lines. You're less than three minutes out.
Jack Bauer: Copy that. Send the address over to Agent Morgan.
Erik Ritter: Don't wait too long for calling in backup. I know you have a history with Chloe O'Brian.
Jack Bauer: My priority is the override device. Stay focused on your job. Stop worrying about me.

"24: Live Another Day: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (#1.7)" (2014)
Jack Bauer: Is she awake?
Hospital Surgeon: No. But she's coming around.
Jack Bauer: Okay, good. I'm gonna need to talk to her before you send her in for that scan.
Hospital Surgeon: That's not possible.
Jack Bauer: Doctor, I'm not asking. Right now there are more lives at stake than just hers. I need you to do what you can to stabilize her and get her conscious. Do you understand me? Please.

Jack Bauer: My name is Jack Bauer. Simone, your instinct was to protect your family members from what your mother is doing today. I want you to think of the hundreds of thousands of innocent people that will die if we don't stop her. Please help me. Right now, you're the only person that can stop this from happening.
Simone Al-Harazi: Just because I took pity on Farah and Yasmin, doesn't mean I would ever betray my mother to you.
Jack Bauer: Your mother. Who did this?
[squeezes her wounded hand]
Simone Al-Harazi: [winces] My mother loves me. She would never do anything to harm me.

Jack Bauer: He texted her Simone's location. She replied, "You got eight minutes to get out."
Helen McCarthy: Well, what does that mean?
Jack Bauer: She's sending a drone to kill her daughter. You need to clear this hospital now. Now!
Helen McCarthy: Get everyone out!

Jack Bauer: Doctor, I've got her. You can go.
Hospital Surgeon: She can't walk.
Jack Bauer: She's gonna have to. Go!
Simone Al-Harazi: What's happening?
Jack Bauer: Your mother's targeting you with a drone.
Simone Al-Harazi: No.
Jack Bauer: She's willing to kill everybody here just to keep you quiet.
Simone Al-Harazi: She wouldn't do that.
Jack Bauer: You honestly believe that? Stay here then.
[walks away]
Simone Al-Harazi: Wait. Please. Please don't leave me here.

Margot Al-Harazi: Scan the area. If they got her out, find her.
Ian Al-Harazi: There they are.
Margot Al-Harazi: Lock on target. And fire.
Ian Al-Harazi: Target acquired.
[shoots a missile]
Jack Bauer: She's got a visual on us. Hold on.
Margot Al-Harazi: Ugh.
[finds the escaping car]
Margot Al-Harazi: Stay on them. Take the shot when you can.

Jack Bauer: [to Kate, after torturing Simone] I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I just hate these people for thinking that there could be anything that would justify what they're doing.

"24: Live Another Day: 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. (#1.2)" (2014)
Chloe O'Brian: A guy I used to work with broke me out. Told me to go somewhere safe. I know that sounds crazy.
Adrian Cross: Yeah, I mean, he broke you out. That's impossible.
Chloe O'Brian: Not for him. He's former head of CTU, Jack Bauer.
Adrian Cross: [sighs] Oh. Have to shut it down.
[to his team]
Adrian Cross: We'll have to shut it down. We're moving to another spot.
Chloe O'Brian: No! He's my friend. He was trying to protect me.
Jack Bauer: [crashing door, shouts] Nobody move!

Jack Bauer: Which one of you is Derrick Yates?
[no one responds]
Jack Bauer: I said "Which one of you is Derrick Yates?".
Adrian Cross: Yates no longer works with us. We had a... clash of styles.
Jack Bauer: Then you're gonna help me find him.
Adrian Cross: I'm afraid I can't do that.
Jack Bauer: I'm afraid you don't have any choice.

Chloe O'Brian: Your friend's tattoo. It's the Serbian mob; one slash for each murder he's committed. What the hell have you been doing the past four years?
Jack Bauer: [dodging the question] What have you got on Yates?
Chloe O'Brian: Nothing on the Underground. We're gonna start searching block by block.
Jack Bauer: Work fast.
Chloe O'Brian: Why are you doing this, Jack? Some fantasy that if you stop the attack, save Heller, all will be forgiven? You can return back to your daughter, her family?
Jack Bauer: There's no going back for me. It's not about that. I told you, this is bigger than Heller.
Chloe O'Brian: No, you said that for Adrian's benefit. But I know you, Jack. For better or worse.

Jack Bauer: You know Heller. You know he's a good man.
Chloe O'Brian: No, I don't know that. You didn't answer my question. Why you?
Jack Bauer: I owe him. I owe his family.
Chloe O'Brian: You mean Audrey. Audrey and her dad are part of the same system that screwed us both. At least I'm doing something to fight against it.
Jack Bauer: How? By leaking classified information, military secrets? People are out there dying in the field, Chloe.
Chloe O'Brian: Intelligence agencies keep secrets because what they're doing is criminal.
Jack Bauer: [he scoffs] You're smarter than that. I can see you talking, but all I can hear is Adrian Cross.

Chloe O'Brian: What's going on?
Chell: It's a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan. There's a lot of chatter on the military channels; an American drone attacked an allied military vehicle. There's four people dead.
Stosh: Pilot's saying he didn't do it. Says someone or something took control of the drone.
Chloe O'Brian: They honestly believe that? Where was this drone piloted from?
Chell: Here in the UK. Lower Heyford Air Force Base. Tracked through Milstar Satellite System?
Pete: That's the same system Yates was hacking into.
Jack Bauer: Maybe that's how they plan to attack Heller.
Chloe O'Brian: There are easier ways to assassinate a president than hijack a drone.
Jack Bauer: Not if they're trying to make a point.
Chloe O'Brian: This attack was in Afghanistan.
Jack Bauer: Maybe it was a dry run.

Jack Bauer: [putting Kate in a headlock] Put the weapon down. Now. Slowly. Slowly. All the way to the ground.
[Kate puts her gun down]
Jack Bauer: Up against the car. You are chasing the wrong guy. Now, you seem smarter than the rest of them, so I'm only gonna tell you this once: I'm trying to prevent an attack on President Heller, and you are getting in my way.
[Kate tries to fight Jack off]
Jack Bauer: Now, that was a mistake.

"24: Live Another Day: 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. (#1.11)" (2014)
Mark Boudreau: I had no idea Anatol Stolnavich was working with Cheng.
Jack Bauer: Stolnavich's cover is that of deputy foreign minister. He's a covert intelligence operator, you idiot! If the U.S. goes to war with China, who do you think benefits?

Audrey Boudreau: Hello.
Jack Bauer: Audrey, it's Jack. Look, I need to tell you...
Audrey Boudreau: Kill him.
Jack Bauer: What?
Audrey Boudreau: Cheng. Do what you have to first, and then you kill him.

Kate Morgan: Jack, this phone is still recording.
[Kate presses the playback button, and Jack is alarmed at Cheng's voice]
Cheng Zhi: You're trying my patience, Ms. O'Brian. Do not cause any more trouble than you're worth.
Jack Bauer: Play it again. Play it again!
Cheng Zhi: [Kate presses the playback button again] You're trying my patience, Ms. O'Brian. Do not cause any more trouble than you're worth.
Kate Morgan: Do you recognize the voice?
Jack Bauer: I'll never forget it.

President James Heller: Have you found Adrian Cross? Does he still have the override device?
Jack Bauer: Sir, Adrian Cross is dead, and the override device is gone, but I know who has it. Mr. President, you're not gonna believe this, but it's Cheng Zhi.
President James Heller: That's not possible.
Jack Bauer: I just heard a recording of his voice on a phone left behind by Chloe O'Brian.
President James Heller: Jack, Cheng was killed three years ago trying to escape from a Chinese prison. Our sources in China confirm that.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, I thought so, too, but we were wrong. Sir, this man held me captive and tortured me for over a year and a half. I would never forget his voice. I promise you, it's him.

Jack Bauer: The only reason I surfaced today was to try and protect your father. For you, also because I think he's a really good man. But things have gotten complicated; some things are gonna happen, and I just don't want you to hate me forever.
Audrey Boudreau: Jack, stop. I could never hate you. I never have.

Kate Morgan: What does Cheng have to gain by starting a war between China and the United States?
Jack Bauer: Cheng was part of the old guard. Ten years ago, when the political landscape in China really started to shift, Cheng and a group of extremists pushed for complete power. He lost, then he was imprisoned. Up until today, the entire intelligence community thought he died there. Somehow, the Russians must have got him out.
Kate Morgan: All right, so the Russians are behind the attack on the carrier. That's a dangerous game, even for them.
Jack Bauer: This might not be official policy. This could be an off-book intelligence op. Either way, U.S. goes to war with China, Russia has a freer hand to expand in eastern Europe.
Kate Morgan: Yeah, I get that. What I don't get is why the hell is Mark Boudreau helping them?
Jack Bauer: We'll find out soon enough.

"24: Live Another Day: 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. (#1.6)" (2014)
Kate Morgan: I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around you working for someone like Rask.
Jack Bauer: In the last 11 months, two of Rask's clients, significant clients, have been taken down. A human trafficking ring and an international drug cartel. I'm using my position in Rask's organization to make sure people like that can't keep doing business.
Kate Morgan: Why? Who have you been working for?
Jack Bauer: No one. This time I'm doing it for me.
Kate Morgan: And Rask wants to kill you.
Jack Bauer: I disappeared on him when I discovered the threat against President Heller. So, naturally, he'd think I was the leak. He'd be right.
Kate Morgan: Okay. So what's your plan?

Kate Morgan: You want to hand me over to Rask.
Jack Bauer: It's the only way I know how to make this work.
Kate Morgan: What do you need me to do?
Jack Bauer: Chloe uploaded evidence onto this phone linking you to the CIA investigation into Rask's operation. I need to plant it on you and offer you up. A sign of goodwill.
Kate Morgan: He's gonna want to interrogate me.
Jack Bauer: I know. That's why I want to deliver you unconscious. If you're unconscious, there's no one to interrogate. Five cc's of propofol should give me enough time to get everything we need.
Kate Morgan: And if there's not enough time?
Jack Bauer: I've got a guy on the ground. He'll be covering you. But it's not a guarantee. Look, this is a long shot. There is a good chance that we will both end up dead. If you don't want to do this, I can't force you. It's a lot to ask.
Kate Morgan: [pause] Just make it count.

President James Heller: I have you on the speaker phone with Jack Bauer. He's got a play to find Margot Al-Harazi, but he needs to operate in the dark. No surveillance, no tracking of any kind. Do you understand?
Steve Navarro: I'm not sure I do, sir.
President James Heller: You are to give Jack Bauer whatever he needs, plus silence.
Jack Bauer: This is Jack. I'm gonna need a car; unmarked, civilian. Clean phone with a scrambled caller, field interrogation kit, and a small weapons package.
Steve Navarro: Fine. Jordan, you'll take care of that?
Jordan Reed: I'll send them right over.
Jack Bauer: You have an agent, Kate Morgan. I want her assigned to me.
Steve Navarro: I'm afraid I can't help you there. Agent Morgan's no longer on roster.
Jack Bauer: What are you talking about? Why?
Steve Navarro: She'd already been earmarked for transfer back to Langley. I only had her in the field provisionally.
President James Heller: Well, put her back in the field. Jack wants her, Jack needs her, Jack gets her.

Mark Boudreau: I understand my wife came to visit you. I'm just curious what happened.
Jack Bauer: Maybe you should ask her.
Mark Boudreau: I'm asking you.
Jack Bauer: We talked.
Mark Boudreau: When I first met Audrey, she was in pretty bad shape, in large part because of you. I'm worried what your presence here may do to her.
Jack Bauer: What do you want from me?
Mark Boudreau: Your help. Stay away from her.
Jack Bauer: Mr. Boudreau, if I live through today, which by the way is highly unlikely, I'm going straight to prison. I'm the last thing you need to worry about.

Kate Morgan: If you don't trust me, then why request me for this?
Jack Bauer: 'Cause you strike me as someone who can handle pretty much anything that's thrown at you.

Jack Bauer: Are you familiar with an arms dealer named Carl Rask?
Kate Morgan: Yeah, we've been hunting him for years. Rask's in London?
Jack Bauer: Yes, he is. I also know for a fact that he's been working with Margot Al-Harazi. I think he knows where she is and he can contact her.
Kate Morgan: He's not just gonna give you that information.
Jack Bauer: Of course he's not. He's loyal to his clients, but he's also greedy. That's how I'm gonna get him.
Kate Morgan: You seem to know a lot about Rask. How?
Jack Bauer: For the last two years, I've been working for him. Unfortunately for us, I think the second he sees me, he's gonna want to kill me.

"24: Live Another Day: 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. (#1.8)" (2014)
President James Heller: I need you to do something for me, Jack, something you're not gonna want to do.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, I'll do whatever you need.
President James Heller: A few minutes ago, I spoke directly to Margot Al-Harazi. This is a recording of the relevant part.

Jack Bauer: The only way we can stop this from happening is to find Margot fast. So wake the bitch up.
Kate Morgan: We need to wake her right now.
CIA Doctor: I told you, she'll probably die.
Kate Morgan: Well, actually, you didn't say probably before, but that doesn't matter right now, so just give her anything that you think will make her up.
CIA Doctor: I'll have to ask you to leave.
Kate Morgan: [holds him at gunpoint] I'm gonna have to ask you to do what I say and wake her up right now.
CIA Doctor: Who do you think you are?
Kate Morgan: Just do it.
CIA Doctor: If she dies, it's on your head.
Kate Morgan: Move quickly!

President James Heller: End of the road, Jack. I gave you a presidential pardon.
Jack Bauer: A pardon?
President James Heller: Yeah.
President James Heller: All charges against you from four years ago vanish, as well as any charges that might come up with today. You can go home again, Jack.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, I'm not looking for a pardon. Especially not for this. I think what you're doing is wrong.
President James Heller: This is the right way for me to go.
Jack Bauer: Yes, sir.

Kate Morgan: Jack, it's Kate. Simone's not good. The doctor's inducing a coma. He says if we try to wake her, she'll die.
Jack Bauer: Yeah, but we're running out of time.
Kate Morgan: Yeah, I know. What did the president want to see you about?
Jack Bauer: I don't know yet. Look, you need to push the doctor, do you understand me? We need Simone awake. If she dies, so be it.

President James Heller: I understand we're running out of options.
Jack Bauer: We're not giving up, sir.
President James Heller: But there's no real reason to be optimistic.
Jack Bauer: The percentages are not in our favor, Mr. President. I'm sorry.
President James Heller: Don't apologize, Jack. You're the only one who's even come close to catching Al-Harazi.

"24: Day 5: 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. (#5.13)" (2006)
Jack Bauer: It won't make you feel any better Tony, believe me.
Tony Almeida: Yeah, you're probably right Jack. I'll let you know.

Jack Bauer: This won't make you feel any better Tony, believe me.
Tony Almeida: Yeah, you're probably right Jack. I'll let you know.

Audrey Heller Raines: [after Jack's daughter has expressed to him that she dosen't wish to see him anymore] Are you ok?
Jack Bauer: [pause] No.

Jack Bauer: Tony, just wait. Dammit!

Jack Bauer: It won't bring back Michelle.

"24: Live Another Day: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 a.m. (#1.12)" (2014)
Jack Bauer: This is for Audrey, you son of a bitch!
[decapitates Cheng Zhi with a katana]

Jack Bauer: [fighting Cheng] You should have stayed hidden like a rat. You could have died an old man.

Jack Bauer: [exchanging himself for Chloe] I've taken you at your word. But if you're lying to me, if anything happens to her or my family, your entire world will come apart, and you will never see it coming.
Russian Agent: We just want you, Mr. Bauer. That's all we ever wanted. I would say you're going to enjoy Moscow, but you'd know I was lying.

Chloe O'Brian: Jack, you don't have to do this. It's time for you to go to home.
Jack Bauer: You were right about what you said earlier. About being my best friend. Thank you. Look in on my family when you can. Go.

Jack Bauer: The operation's simple. Capture Cheng alive.
Chloe O'Brian: Why are you doing this alone? Why not ask the CIA for help?
Jack Bauer: Because he's got Audrey pinned down by a sniper. He'll kill her if he sees any operation moving against him.
Chloe O'Brian: Jack, I'm sorry.
Jack Bauer: It's not your fault, Chloe. You need to let that go. None of this is.

"The Simpsons: 24 Minutes (#18.21)" (2007)
[first lines]
Jack Bauer: Previously on "24"... I mean, "The Simpsons."

Jack Bauer: I'm Jack Bauer. Who the hell are you?
Bart Simpson: [thinks of the perfect prank call] I'm, um, Ahmed Adoudi.
Jack Bauer: Chloe, find out all you can about Ahmed Adoudi. Does somebody know Ahmed Adoudi?
Chloe O'Brian: Ahmed Adoudi: wealthy Saudi financier, disappeared into Afghanistan in the late '90s.
Jack Bauer: Really?
Chloe O'Brian: No, Jack! It's a joke name! You're being set up.
Jack Bauer: Damn it!
[he shoots with his gun and Bart laughs hard]

[last lines]
[Jack Bauer comes in by dropping in from an air vent]
Jack Bauer: [in megaphone] Good work, Lisa!
Bart Simpson: What about me?
Jack Bauer: [points gun at Bart] Bart Simpson, twelve minutes ago, you made an annoying prank phone call to me. All units move in!
[a bunch of units move into the gym and they all point guns at Bart, but Bauer puts his away]
Jack Bauer: I pulled ever single field agent off all other cases to track you down and bring you to justice. It was a tough decision, but I think I made the right call.
[big explosion happens in the distance, and the crowd gasps]
Jack Bauer: It's okay. That was Shelbyville.
[everyone sighs with relief]

Jack Bauer: The following takes place between 2:34 PM and 3:04 PM. Or maybe it's AM. Whichever one is the morning one; it's not that one.

"24: Live Another Day: 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (#1.5)" (2014)
President James Heller: You want me to put you back in the field?
Jack Bauer: Until she's captured, yes.
President James Heller: That's a big ask, Jack, even under the circumstances. The Russians are still crying for your head. They find out that we have you and then we let you go? I'll have a larger crisis than I have now.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, I give you my word that I will surrender myself to the authorities as soon as the threat has been neutralized.
President James Heller: I can't do it, Jack.

Jack Bauer: I'm not gonna let you blow the only lead that we've got because you're worried about what the Russians will do. You want to capture Margot Al-Harazi, you're gonna have my way.
President James Heller: You've been in exile for four years, Jack. Haven't you learned anything?
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, I hope you consider my request. While you still have time.

Audrey Boudreau: [comes into the room] It's okay, Tom.
Jack Bauer: You shouldn't be here.
Audrey Boudreau: I just... I just wanted to tell you... I just... wanted to tell you that we have a lead on Al-Harazi's location, and there's an operation already in progress.

Jack Bauer: Everything they said is true. It was complicated, but I killed those people. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. You should go. You need to go. You need to go now. Audrey, you need to go. You need to go now. Now.
[Audrey leaves]

"24: Day 7: 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. (#7.14)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: I believe this country is still under attack, and there has to be a reason.

Jack Bauer: Trust isn't my greatest asset.

Jack Bauer: Just tell me where the weapons are coming in. When are they getting here?
John Quinn: They're already here.

Jack Bauer: Of course I have regrets, Senator. I regret losing my family. My wife was murdered because I was responsible for protecting David Palmer during an assassination attempt. My daughter can't even look at me. Every day, I regret looking into the eyes of men, women, and children knowing that any moment, their lives might be deemed expendable in an effort to protect the greater good. I regret every decision or mistake that I might have made which resulted in the loss of a single innocent life. But do you know what I regret the most? Is that this world needs people like me.

"24: Day 6: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (#6.1)" (2007)
[at about 6:30am]
Jack Bauer: [to Bill Buchanan] Do you know the difference between dying for nothing and dying for something. That's why I'm still alive. That's the only reason why I managed to stay alive in China, so I wouldn't die for nothing. Today, I can die for something.
[about 20-25 minutes later, around 6:55am; Jack Bauer is being tortured very badly]
Abu Fayed: [while torturing Jack Bauer] Funny you should mention Assad. Assad's been talking about renouncing violence and negotiating.
Abu Fayed: [prepares to jam a sharp metal rod in Jack's back] Assad is a traitor to the cause. And soon he will be dead. That's right, Jack. CTU is about to kill the wrong man. Assad isn't behind these attacks. He's come here to stop them. He's come here to stop... me.
Abu Fayed: [jams the metal rod into Jack's back]
Jack Bauer: [gasping in beaut pain]
Abu Fayed: [pulls the rod out after a few seconds and drops it on the floor and finishes with] You will die for nothing.

Jack Bauer: Do you understand the difference between dying for something and dying for nothing? Today I can die for something. My way. My choice

Jack Bauer: Do you understand the difference between dying for something and dying for nothing? Thats why I fought so hard to stay alive in China, because I didn't want to die for nothing. Today, I can die for something.

Bill Buchanan: [having not spoken for two years, Jack struggles to talk clearly] I can't hear you, Jack.
Jack Bauer: [rasping] Audrey?
Bill Buchanan: Audrey doesn't know you're back.
Jack Bauer: My daughter?
Bill Buchanan: Kim doesn't know, either.
Jack Bauer: You keep it that way.

"24: Day 7: 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (#7.8)" (2009)
Larry Moss: The rules are what makes us better.
Jack Bauer: Not today.

President Allison Taylor: You resigned from government service and the Senate regards you as having been a renegade agent. How am I supposed to know where your loyalties really lie?
Jack Bauer: With all due respect Madame President, ask around.

Jack Bauer: When are you gonna stop thinking everyone else is following your rules? They're not. Dubaku is gonna kill Henry Taylor within the next 45 minutes unless we find him. You've got one of two choices. You can either phone the president and explain to her that your conscience won't allow you to do what is necessary to save him, or you could simply do what is necessary. Pick one!

[after accidentally killing a suspect and realizing his car broke down in a crash before]
Jack Bauer: Damn it!

"24: Day 5: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (#5.24)" (2006)
Jack Bauer: [Jack is dressed as a co-pilot and holds the "Marine 1" pilot at gunpoint] Captain... I can fly this thing if i have to, which leaves you with one of two choices; you either do as i say and you live, or you don't and you die for nothing, do you understand me?

Cheng Zhi: [Holding Jack hostage] You surely must be aware, Mr. Bauer, that China has a long memory. Only eighteen months ago, you invaded our territory and killed our consul.
[Leaning to Jack]
Cheng Zhi: Did you really think that we would forget? Hmm?
Jack Bauer: [Weakly] I know how this works... I need to make one phone call... Please... just one phone call.
[pause, until Jack spits at Cheng, and Cheng's men are throwing Jack on the floor]
Jack Bauer: Kill me... Just... kill me...
Cheng Zhi: Kill you? You're far too valuable to kill, Mr. Bauer.

Jack Bauer: A year and a half ago, I was warned that my life was in danger by someone within the government. I was told the only way I could stay alive was to create the illusion that I was dead. I was forced to deceive people that I loved. My only daughter will never forgive me. As I see the depth of your corruption unfold, I have no doubt that you are that source of danger. David Palmer was a great man, and he was a great President. He was also my friend. He tried to warn me about you and now he is dead. Other people tried to help me, and they are dead, too. So Mr. Logan, I hope you understand... I have absolutely nothing to lose. You are going to be held accountable for your part of everything that happened today. You will not be able to hide behind the Presidency - right here, right now, you are going to face justice! And make no mistake about this, this is personal. And if you think for a second that I am scared to put a bullet in your brain, you don't know me. I am going to ask you one last time. Who are your co-conspirators? You have until the count of three, or I will kill you.

Jack Bauer: What are the names of your co-conspirators?
Charles Logan: There are no co-conspirators, because there is no conspir...
Jack Bauer: [interrupts, yelling] WALT CUMMINGS! CHRISTOPHER HENDERSON, and James Nathanson have all admitted to being part of this conspiracy, now they are dead! Right before Christopher Henderson died, he acknowledged that there were others, what are their names?
Charles Logan: A man will say anything under torture, this won't mean a thing.
Jack Bauer: Mr. Logan, I'm not here to torture you, but you are gonna tell what i want to know, or so help me god, I will kill you.

"24: 3:00 a.m.-4:00 a.m. (#1.4)" (2001)
Cop: Maybe you didn't notice, but that guy just shot a cop.
Jack Bauer: I'm aware of that, but there's something else at stake here.
Cop: Not to me. Not to these guys.

[chasing a suspect]
Jack Bauer: I wish you hadn't called for backup.
Jessie Hampton: Why?
Jack Bauer: Because cops have to play by the rules. I may have to break a few with this guy.

President Palmer: Jack, what about Ellis? Was he able to retrieve the missing file on Operation Nightfall?
Jack Bauer: I lost contact with Ellis.
President Palmer: "Lost contact"? What do you mean?
Jack Bauer: I mean we got interrupted in the middle of our phone call. Sir, I have to be honest with you. I've got a very bad feeling about this.
President Palmer: So what are you telling me?
Jack Bauer: I'm telling you that for now, we should assume Ellis is dead.
President Palmer: Keep me posted.
Jack Bauer: Yes, sir.

Police Officer: Freeze!
Jack Bauer: Federal agent!
Police Officer: Your badge! Nice and slowly.
Jack Bauer: I'm putting my gun down.
[puts his gun down, takes out his I.D. and throws it towards the police officer]
Police Officer: [looking at the I.D] CTU? What the hell is that?
Jack Bauer: Counter Terrorist Unit.

"24: 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (#1.15)" (2002)
President Palmer: I can't wait for Ellis to get back to us. I've got to go.
Jack Bauer: Senator, they're not going to let me continue to work here. I am technically still under arrest.
President Palmer: Come on.
[They exit the conference room, and enter the main CTU floor]
President Palmer: Ryan!
Ryan Chappelle: Yes, Senator?
President Palmer: I understand you have Jack under arrest.
Jack Bauer: I told the Senator I was being detained for questioning.
President Palmer: There is an ongoing crisis that supersedes any charges that might be filed against him.
Ryan Chappelle: But Senator...
President Palmer: I want him reinstated to his previous position, effective immediately.
Alberta Green: I'm sorry, sir, but you don't have the authority to make that decision.
Ryan Chappelle: Alberta, please.
[Alberta stares at Palmer, then backs off]
Ryan Chappelle: Sir, what you are asking isn't possible. The charges against Agent Bauer are serious. We would be held in contempt of agency regulations if we reinstated him without a hearing.
Jack Bauer: Ryan, you don't have to reinstate me. Not permanantly. Look, nobody here has as much information about this situation as I do. Give me provisional status, just till the end of the day. Then you can take me back into custody, do whatever you want.
[pause; Chappelle looks at Palmer]
Ryan Chappelle: Fine, Jack. You work the case out of CTU, but you answer to me. Good luck with your campaign, Senator.
[Chappelle walks off]
Jack Bauer: Thank you.
[Jack stares at Green. Palmer then pulls Jack aside]

President Palmer: I know why you want me dead, Mr. Bauer.
Jack Bauer: Want you dead, Senator? I don't know what you're talking about.
President Palmer: Kosovo!
Jack Bauer: Kosovo?
President Palmer: I know you hold me responsible for the men you lost there. Two years ago today.
Jack Bauer: You know about Operation Nightfall?
President Palmer: I authorized the mission. I know you took out Victor Drazen and his inner circle, and I know you lost six men in the process.
Jack Bauer: And you think I want revenge for the death of men?
President Palmer: Yes, I do.
Jack Bauer: With all due respect, Senator, I almost died today trying to protect you! And if I blame anyone for the death of my men in Kosovo, sir, I blame myself!

Jack Bauer: The reason why I went for that Secret Service agent's gun, sir, was to try and get you out of the room without giving myself away. The people that want you dead, they had kidnapped my family. They threatened to kill them if I didn't assist them in the assassination attempt.

"24: Day 5: 5:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. (#5.23)" (2006)
Jack Bauer: What's your status?
Petty Officer Rooney: My status is... he's dead.

Jack Bauer: [Phone Conversation] Yeah?
Mike Novick: The President has just notified Secret Service he's going to be delayed.
Jack Bauer: How long?
Mike Novick: He didn't say, but Mrs. Logan knows we need as much time as possible. Jack... if Logan doesn't confess... how far are you actually willing to go?
Jack Bauer: As far as I have to.

Christopher Henderson: [Holds Jack at gunpoint] Hold it, Jack! Now lower your arms, real slow, and turn around! You weren't ever really gonna let me go, were you?
Jack Bauer: No.
Christopher Henderson: [Tries to shoot Jack, but the trigger clicks empty] Good for you, Jack.
[pause, untill Jack approaches Henderson]
Jack Bauer: You were responsible for the deaths of David Palmer, Tony Almeida, and Michelle Dessler. They were friends of mine.
Christopher Henderson: That's the way it works.
[Jack shoots Henderson dead]

"24: 11:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (#1.24)" (2002)
Nina Myers: Jack, if you kill me, you won't know who I work for. You think I work for Drazen, but I don't.
Jack Bauer: I trusted you, Nina.
Nina Myers: I was just doing my job.
Jack Bauer: Your job? My wife and daughter almost died today. How many people that trusted you because you were doing your job? Walsh, Jamey, Ellis? How many others?

[last lines]
Jack Bauer: I'm so sorry.

Jack Bauer: [On cell phone] George, it's me.
George Mason: Jack! Well, as usual, I don't know whether to congratulate you or to demand for your resignation.

"24: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (#1.9)" (2002)
Jack Bauer: I have killed two people since midnight. I haven't slept in over 24 hours. So maybe you should be a little more afraid of me than you are now.

Jack Bauer: What's your name? Lauren? I'm Jack. I work for a special branch of the government. Last night, I was given a very important assignment. Right now, someone is trying to stop me from doing it.

Jack Bauer: I used to be in the military. Used to do field work for the CIA. I've been to some horrible places. I've seen some pretty terrible things. I don't think I've ever been this scared in my whole life.

"24: Day 7: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (#7.4)" (2009)
Chloe: I'm glad you're with us.
Jack Bauer: I'm not with anyone until someone starts answering some questions.
[turns to Tony]
Jack Bauer: Let's start with you. Why the hell aren't you dead?

Chloe: I'm glad you're with us.
Jack Bauer: I'm not with anybody until someone starts answering questions.
[turns to Tony]
Jack Bauer: Might as well start with you. Why are you not dead?

[about Jack returning to the United States after his stint in Sangala]
David Emerson: Why'd you come back?
Jack Bauer: Wanted to know what it was like to walk into a propeller.
David Emerson: [unamused] That's funny.

"24: Live Another Day: 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. (#1.9)" (2014)
Margot Al-Harazi: Hundreds of people died today because of you and Heller. You think you've won, but this is all on your head.
Jack Bauer: The only death tonight on my head is yours.
[pushes Margot out from window]

Jack Bauer: What can you tell us?
DOD Tech: All military defense systems use a common architecture. They basically work off a 2048-bit encryption. What we're dealing with here...
DOD Tech: This looks like it was designed to break through the firewall.
Steve Navarro: To do what?
DOD Tech: Worst case scenario? Anything you want. Unlimited access to any defense system out there. This isn't just about drones.

President James Heller: You should have let me take the hit, Jack. I was prepared to die back there.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, if there was a chance to save your life, I was gonna take it. Five drones are down. She has one left.
President James Heller: Which is capable of killing thousands of people
Jack Bauer: Not if we get to her first. Sir, where we were an hour ago, I consider this a success.

"24: Day 2: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. (#2.15)" (2003)
Jack Bauer: [Jack is on the phone with the President discussing who will fly the bomb] We have a few volunteers, Sir. President. All of them good men.
President Palmer: Whoever it is, tell him he has the undying gratitude of every citizen of this country and tell him we will take care of whatever family he leaves behind.
George Mason: Yes Sir, I will.
[the president ends by asking to call him back when the plane is in the air]
George Mason: Funny, huh. I don't see any volunteers, when's the last time you flew a plane?
Jack Bauer: I can get it in the air and put it down, George.

Kim Bauer: [saying good bye over the phone] dad, finally, are you ok?
Jack Bauer: I'm ok sweetheart, are you alright?
Kim Bauer: yes, I'm fine
Jack Bauer: thank God, you've had a hell of a day haven't you?
Kim Bauer: yes, what's that noise? Where are you?
Jack Bauer: I'm in a plane
Kim Bauer: A plane? Why?
Jack Bauer: sweetheart there's something I need to tell you and it's going to be hard so I need you to stick with me ok?
Kim Bauer: [remains silent]
Jack Bauer: We found the bomb it was wired in a way for it's possible to diffuse it. We needed someone to fly it over the desert so nobody can get killed, that "someone" turned out to be me
Kim Bauer: how are you getting off the plane?
Jack Bauer: I'm not sweetheart, the bomb has to be dropped in a very specific area, there's no other choice. I'm sorry.
Kim Bauer: [starts panicking] but dad, no you can't do this to me, there has to be someone else...
Jack Bauer: I didn't have any other choice, I need you to listen to me.
Kim Bauer: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.
Jack Bauer: sweetheart, there's nothing to be sorry for.
Kim Bauer: I've been so mean and so bad to you.
Jack Bauer: Anything that happened between us, that was never your fault. I love you just the way you are. I don't want you to ever change, do you understand that? I love you more than anything in the world.
Kim Bauer: [remains silent]
Jack Bauer: I want you to live your life. I want you to be happy, that's all I ever wanted for you.

Jack Bauer: [In a Cessna plane with the bomb] What the hell are you doing here?
George Mason: [Sarcastically] I felt like taking a ride
Jack Bauer: how the hell did you get on this plane?
George Mason: It wasn't hard, some people still think I'm the head of CTU.
Jack Bauer: son of a bitch
George Mason: [takes out a parachute] I brought something for you.
Jack Bauer: I already told you, I'm taking this plane in.
George Mason: That might've made sense back on the ground but let's face it, the hard part is over, you took off and cleared the city, what's left is flying straight, stay level and take dive am I right? Unless of course you want to die.
George Mason: What are you talking about?
George Mason: You've had a death wish ever since Terri died. The way things have been going for you in the past year and a half, to you this isn't such a bad idea, you want to go out in a blaze of glory, one of the greatest heroes of all time. This could be an easy way out. You still have a life, you want be a real hero, here's what you do. You get back down there and you put the pieces together. You find a way to forgive yourself for what happened to your wife. You make things right with your daughter, and you go on serving your country. That'd take some real guts.

"24: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (#1.7)" (2002)
Jack Bauer: [steaming] If Alan York's dead, then who is the man with my wife.
Ira Gaines: [smug] He's not an accountant from the valley, that's for sure.
Jack Bauer: I swear to God if you hurt my wife or my daughter, I will kill you you son of a bitch!
Ira Gaines: [fires a gun into the air]
Jack Bauer: [panicked] Oh my God! What have you done?!? What have you done?!??!??!??
Ira Gaines: Everything's fine Jack, but unless you start doing as you are told, that will be the last sound your wife and daughter will hear.
Jack Bauer: I'll do as your told.
Ira Gaines: Good. That's the spirit.

Jack Bauer: If Alan York is dead, who is the man with my wife?
Ira Gaines: He's not an accountant from the valley, that's for sure.

Jack Bauer: Mason...
George Mason: [surveys damage around the outside cafe where Jack was] Nice, Jack. Does it seem to you that no matter where you go, there's always a body count?

"24: Day 8: 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (#8.24)" (2010)
Jack Bauer: When you first came to CTU, I never thought it was going to be you, that was going to cover my back all those years. And I know that everything that you did today, was to try and protect me. I know that.

President Allison Taylor: Jack?
Jack Bauer: You should have let them kill me. 'Cause I'm not gonna quit until this is over.
President Allison Taylor: It is over. I withdrew fifteen minutes ago from the signing of the peace treaty. Within the hour, I will tell the world what happened today. I will tender my resignation and remand myself to the Attorney General, and face the consequences of my actions. Unfortunately, you will have to do the same. I wanted this peace so badly, Jack, and for that I have betrayed every principle that I have ever stood for. And I betrayed you. If I had listened to you, none of this would have happened.
Jack Bauer: We've both made mistakes we're gonna have to live with.
President Allison Taylor: I would give anything to take back the time. But all I can do is tell you to leave the country while you still have a chance. The Russians will be coming after you, and so will we. Jack, I am so sorry. I don't know what else to say.

Jack Bauer: [taken from a video recording left for President Taylor as she watches] Lasting peace cannot simply be political. It has to be born out of trust and honesty and understanding, and most importantly, a will on both sides to move forward. Currently, that will does not exist. This peace is fraudulent, and I cannot in good conscience allow the people that lost their lives today to go unspoken for.

"24: Day 2: 5:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. (#2.22)" (2003)
Jack Bauer: [fires a shot at Sherry Palmer] Sit down!

Alex Hewitt: I won't say anything until I see my lawyer.
Jack Bauer: I am your lawyer, son.

"24: 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. (#1.11)" (2002)
Jack Bauer: You're a good liar. But I've seen better.

Jack Bauer: You probably don't think that I can force this towel down your throat. But trust me, I can. All the way. Except I'd hold onto this one little bit at the end. When your stomach starts to digest it, I pull it out. Taking your stomach lining with it. For most people it would take about a week to die. It's very painful.

"24: Day 7: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (#7.1)" (2009)
[being questioned about previous illegal actions taken by CTU]
Jack Bauer: The difference between success and failure is your ability to adapt to your enemy. The people that I deal with, they don't care about your rules. All they care about is a result.

Jack Bauer: I am more than willing to be judged by the people you claim to represent. I will let them decide what price I should pay. But please do not sit up there with that smug look on your face and expect me to regret the decisions I have made. Because, sir, the truth is...
Jack Bauer: I don't.

"24: Day 3: 2:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m. (#3.14)" (2004)
Jack Bauer: You don't have any more useful information, do you, Nina?
Nina Myers: [weakly] Y-yes I do.
[reaches for gun]
Jack Bauer: No, you don't.
[shoots Nina three more times]

Jack Bauer: [holding a gun at Nina, who is lying on the floor] You don't have any more useful information, do you Nina?
Nina Myers: [reaching slowly for a gun and speaking in a raspy voice] I do.
Jack Bauer: No, you don't.
[shoots her three times, killing her]

"24: 4:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m. (#1.5)" (2001)
Nina Myers: Okay, there's a payphone down the block and it's in service. What about a warrant?
Jack Bauer: Forget the warrant.

Greg Penticoff: No more questions without my lawyer.
Jack Bauer: [Ignoring him] Who are you working for?
Greg Penticoff: Are you deaf? I said no questions without my lawyer.
Jack Bauer: [Snickers] Your lawyer can kiss my ass.

"24: Day 7: 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (#7.7)" (2009)
[first lines]
Jack Bauer: [as narrator] The following takes place between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Renee Walker: Jack the police are almost here. If you get arrested, this entire operation goes out of the window. You have to get out of there.
Jack Bauer: Copy that.

"24: Day 8: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (#8.20)" (2010)
[last lines]
Dana Walsh: Jack... tell me what I can do.
Jack Bauer: Nothing. Nothing at all.
[Jack shoots her]

Jack Bauer: I almost forgot, you're gonna need these.
[Hands Cole his ammo clips]
Jack Bauer: I'm sorry, I just couldn't take the chance.
Cole Ortiz: [Shakes his head] . You son of a bitch.
Jack Bauer: Yeah, I know.

"24: Day 6: 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. (#6.2)" (2007)
Jack Bauer: Drop the Coffee.

[Jack is trying to convince Assad he's there to save him]
Jack Bauer: If I'd wanted to kill you, I'd have come in shooting!

"24: Live Another Day: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. (#1.3)" (2014)
Jack Bauer: Chloe, Yates has been killed. No sign of a struggle, up close and personal. A professional did this. The girl's no longer in the pub, so she either double-crossed him or we've got another player in this.

Chloe O'Brian: You made me help find Yates, we found him. He's dead, so just take me back.
Jack Bauer: Chloe, what the hell is going on?
Chloe O'Brian: I missed her, because for a second I... I thought I saw them.
Jack Bauer: Saw who?
Chloe O'Brian: Morris and Prescott. I froze. I mean... obviously, I knew it couldn't be them.
[seeing Jack's confused look]
Chloe O'Brian: You don't know.
Jack Bauer: Know what?
Chloe O'Brian: They're dead.
Jack Bauer: [stunned] How?
Chloe O'Brian: Morris was driving Prescott home from soccer practice. They stopped at a light, and a truck slammed into them. It was dark; there was only one witness, and she just saw a truck driving away.
Jack Bauer: Chloe... Chloe, come here.
[he gives her a sympathetic hug]
Jack Bauer: I am so sorry.
Chloe O'Brian: I was the one... I was the one that always took him to soccer practice. It was... it was supposed to be me, but I had to work late that night, so I asked Morris to do it. It was supposed to be me, Jack. They were targeting me.
Jack Bauer: Chloe, why would someone want to target you?
Chloe O'Brian: Because, Jack, I know what happened the day you disappeared.
Jack Bauer: [heavy sigh] You can't bring back the ones you love. Trust me. But you can honor their lives by helping others. It's the only way forward. You might not give a damn about Heller, but if these attacks happen, innocent people will die; a lot of them. Hell, Chloe, I don't want to make you do anything, but I need your help. Please. Help me stop these attacks from happening.

"24: 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. (#1.13)" (2002)
Jack Bauer: Part of getting a second chance is taking responsibility for the mess you made in the first place.

Jack Bauer: [over a walkie-talkie] You're losing blood.
Ira Gaines: Not enough to stop me from killing you.
Jack Bauer: Maybe neither of us has to die.
Ira Gaines: Like I said, Jack, I don't have that choice.
Jack Bauer: Well, maybe at least you can tell me what's going on.
[Gaines is silent as he looks for Jack]
Jack Bauer: Cofell. He mentioned something about Belgrade. That was a military operation, how's Palmer connected to that?
Ira Gaines: You were there, Jack, you should know.
Jack Bauer: Let's say I don't.
Ira Gaines: [after a long pause] Neither do I. The less I know, the better I can do my job, that's just the nature of our business.
Jack Bauer: Then why did you bring my family into this?
Ira Gaines: That might've been a mistake. They wanted to make it personal.
Jack Bauer: [no longer on the walkie-talkie] Who's they?
[Gaines realizes Jack is behind him]
Jack Bauer: Put down the weapon, Mr. Gaines. We can protect you.
Ira Gaines: No, you can't.
[Gaines gets up]
Jack Bauer: Put down the weapon!
[There's a short pause]
Ira Gaines: [his last lines] Good luck.
[Gaines turns around, weapon in hand. Jack drops to the ground and shoots him in the chest. Gaines falls to the ground dead]

"24: Day 6: 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. (#6.5)" (2007)
Jack Bauer: Gray, people in this country are dying, and I need some information. Now are you are going to give it to me, or do I have to start hurting you?
Graham: Actually, you're hurting me now.
Jack Bauer: Trust me. I'm not.

Graham: I told you, I don't know where dad is. What do you want from me?
Jack Bauer: The truth!
Graham: That is the truth, I swear to you on my family's life!
Jack Bauer: Not good enough.

"24: Day 3: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (#3.20)" (2004)
Jack Bauer: [to Stephen as he shows him the patrons of that are dead or dying from being exposed to the virus that was released into the ventilation system by one of Stephen's men] take a look at your handy work, these people, whole families.
Stephen Saunders: Sometimes fires" need to be lit in order to put out another "fire".
Jack Bauer: I don't want to hear your justification, you're going to help us find the rest of the vials now.
Stephen Saunders: You're going to send me inside the hotel? I'm prepared to die for my cause.
Jack Bauer: Yeah I know.
Jane Saunders: [calls Chase and tells him to bring Stephen's daughter over to Stephen] what am I doing here?
Jack Bauer: Ask your father it's up to him.
Jane Saunders: Dad?
Jack Bauer: [to Stephen] tell me how to find the courier or I'm going to put your daughter in that building.
Stephen Saunders: You wouldn't dare, she has nothing to do with this.
Jack Bauer: Neither do the people inside those body bags. I'm going to do everything I have to for you to stop releasing this virus.
Jane Saunders: [to Stephen] How could you do this?
Jack Bauer: [to Stephen] I'm going to give you one chance.
Stephen Saunders: [to Jack] you know you can't do this, you're a government agent.
Jack Bauer: [Over the radio to other CTU agents referring to Jane] Send her into the hotel.
Jane Saunders: [Yelling] dad stop this, stop it, please
Stephen Saunders: [sees Jane being pushed into the hotel] Jane
Jack Bauer: [to Stephen] everything that happens to your daughter is because of you!
Stephen Saunders: [to Jack] Get her out of there.
Jack Bauer: [Yelling] where are the vials? How do I find the vials?
Stephen Saunders: [to Jack and other CTU agents] let her go, do I say
Jack Bauer: [Walks up to Stephen and grabs his throat] when your daughter's infected, I'm going to make you watch her die.
Stephen Saunders: [to Jack] Get her out of there, let her go.
Jack Bauer: You're running out of time Stephen
Stephen Saunders: [to Jack] Stop! I'll tell you, just don't harm her.

Jack Bauer: [Walks up to Stephen] How do I find the vials?
Stephen Saunders: Each one is tagged with a GPS locator chip, so I can track them up to the moment before it's released.
Jack Bauer: Where are the locator codes?
Stephen Saunders: In my head.
Jack Bauer: You memorized all eleven?
Stephen Saunders: Yeah, get her out of there
Jack Bauer: [Over the radio to the other CTU agents] bring Jane out from the hotel.

"24: Day 8: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (#8.2)" (2010)
Jack Bauer: All I'm saying is that it is possible that someone broke into the apartment and used her computer to steal the documents. All you need to do is send a couple of agents to check it out.
Brian Hastings: I'm sorry, I just don't see it. And I can't waste valuable resources because Chloe O'Brian has a theory.
Jack Bauer: Chloe and I have worked together for a long time. And trust me, she's someone you might want to listen to. She's very good at what she does. And if she's right, the assassin's got you looking in the wrong place, and you will get bit.

Jack Bauer: [at CTU] I hate this place.

"24: Day 4: 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. (#4.4)" (2005)
Erin Driscoll: Send a team to pick up the hostile.
Jack Bauer: Damn it, Erin! If you do that, everything I've done over the past two hours will mean nothing!
Erin Driscoll: I'm glad you finally figured that out.

Kalil Hasan: When do you let me go?
Jack Bauer: When I feel like it.
Kalil Hasan: Who are you?
Jack Bauer: What do you mean?
Kalil Hasan: You don't seem like the kind of guy that needs to rob a Mercury Mart.
Jack Bauer: That Mercury Mart was a money drop. There was supposed to be 18 grand in that safe.
Kalil Hasan: How do you know that?
Jack Bauer: We're done sharing. I'm not gonna forget your face and I've got your driver's licence. You talk to the police, it's not gonna be hard to find you, do you understand me?

"24: 5:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. (#1.6)" (2001)
Ira Gaines: Now tuck that in your ear and say something.
Jack Bauer: If you hurt my daughter I will kill you.
Ira Gaines: Good. That was a nice clear signal.

Ira Gaines: Say something.
Jack Bauer: If you hurt my daughter I WILL kill you.
Ira Gaines: Good. That's a nice, clear signal.

"24: Day 4: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. (#4.7)" (2005)
Jack Bauer: [In a car with tony driving after leaving a safe house where several armed men tried to kill him and Audrey] Thanks for picking us up, saving our lives.
Tony Almeida: no problem.
Jack Bauer: I'm sure you want to know what's been going on...
Tony Almeida: No not really.
Jack Bauer: something wrong?
Tony Almeida: what could be wrong? I'm no longer in a federal prison, thanks to you and President Palmer. Michelle left me, never mind, why don't you tell me what this is all about?
Jack Bauer: you heard about Audrey and her father this morning?
Tony Almeida: Yeah.
Jack Bauer: we went to Fall Sted Security so Audrey can make an ID check on the man she saw during kidnapping.
Tony Almeida: I don't get it, why?
Jack Bauer: Secretary of State's kidnapping was just a cover. The terrorist's main objective was to gain control of nuclear power plants from around the country. The man Audrey saw is our only lead.

Jack Bauer: [In a car with tony driving after leaving a safe house where several armed men tried to kill Jack and Audrey] Thanks for picking us up and saving our lives.
Tony Almeida: No problem.
Jack Bauer: I'm sure you want to know what's been going on.
Tony Almeida: No, not really.
Jack Bauer: Is something wrong?
Tony Almeida: What could be wrong? I'm no longer in a federal prison, thanks to you and President Palmer. Michelle left me, forget I said that, just tell me what this is all about?
Jack Bauer: Did you hear about Audrey and her father this morning?
Tony Almeida: Yeah.
Jack Bauer: We went to Fall Sted Security so Audrey can make an ID check on the man she saw during kidnapping.
Tony Almeida: I don't understand, why?
Jack Bauer: Their kidnapping was just a cover. The terrorist's main objective was to gain control of nuclear power plants from around the country. The man Audrey saw is our only lead.

[On the phone to Audrey]
Jack Bauer: We're talking about taking down the President of the United States.

"24: Day 7: 4:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m. (#7.21)" (2009)
Muhtadi Gohar: Please know that I forgive you.
Jack Bauer: I'm not asking for your forgiveness.
Muhtadi Gohar: Then I hope you can at least forgive yourself.
Jack Bauer: I gave up on that a long time ago.
Muhtadi Gohar: It's never too late to turn towards god, Mr. Bauer.

Jack Bauer: They're using him as leverage, to make Jibraan do what they want.
Renee Walker: How can you be sure?
Jack Bauer: 'Cause that's what I would've done.

"24: Day 6: 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. (#6.7)" (2007)
Graem Bauer: It has nothing to do with McCarthy. It has to do with Palmer.
Jack Bauer: David Palmer?
Graem Bauer: Yeah. I gave the order for his assassination.
[Jack backs away in shock]
Graem Bauer: And agent Tony Almeida and agent Michelle Dessler. Your co-workers, they're all dead because of me. I arranged everything: I set the timetable, I paid off the killers, I even lured you out of hiding to take the fall. Today wasn't the first time I've tried to have you killed, Jack.

Bill Buchanan: Unbelievable. That's what Graem was holding back?
Jack Bauer: Not only was he responsible for David Palmer's assassination, he directed the entire conspiracy. He was trying to protect the company. That's what he's trying to do now.
Bill Buchanan: Incredible.
Jack Bauer: I wish it got us closer to the nukes, but it doesn't. He doesn't know where McCarthy is.

"24: Live Another Day: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (#1.1)" (2014)
Jack Bauer: You know who I am. Trigger the alarm, and I blow your head off.

Belcheck: I still think you should have just asked her to help.
Jack Bauer: I couldn't take the chance she'd say no.
Belcheck: I thought you said she was your friend.
Jack Bauer: I don't have any friends.

"24: Day 7: 3:00 a.m.-4:00 a.m. (#7.20)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: Relax Mr Hodges, you're already dead.

Chloe O'Brian: You look like hell, are you alright?
Jack Bauer: I'm fine
Chloe O'Brian: You don't look fine.
Jack Bauer: Maybe a little tired.

"24: Day 6: 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (#6.10)" (2007)
Jack Bauer: We didn't find Gredenko.
Philip Bauer: [about to execute Jack] Then all of this was for nothing. On your knees. It didn't have to end like this Jack.
[Aims at Jack's head behind him]
Philip Bauer: You could've had it all.
Jack Bauer: I just want you to know, I didn't want you to feel like I had turned my back on you, that I turned my back on the family. I just had to go in my own way, to do things for myself, and I... was never good enough for you. I'm sorry. Anyway... I'm ready. What are you waiting for...? DO IT! DAMN YOU!

Jack Bauer: [dialing a phone number Philip left for him] My name is Jack Bauer. Who am I talking to?
Charles Logan: You must have exhausted all your options to find Gredenko.
Jack Bauer: Who is this?
Charles Logan: It's Charles Logan, Jack.

"24: Day 4: 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (#4.8)" (2005)
Audrey Heller Raines: [while using Tony's computer] You never told me when Michelle left him.
Jack Bauer: She left him a few months after he got out of prison.
Audrey Heller Raines: I thought he went to prison because of her, because he saved her life and she paid him back by leaving him?
Jack Bauer: Yeah that's the way Tony sees it too. It didn't happen exactly like that. By the time he got out of prison, he was angry, couldn't get a job and personally I don't think he wanted one. He started drinking and pushed her away.
Audrey Heller Raines: [referring to Michelle] What is she doing now?
Jack Bauer: Deputy Director over at Division.
Audrey Heller Raines: I hope he can help us.
Jack Bauer: If he can, he will

Jack Bauer: [Referring to Tony's inability to find a job] Why didn't you ever call me?
Tony Almeida: For what?
Jack Bauer: I've been there, I could help.
Tony Almeida: I'm considered a "traitor" to this country.
Jack Bauer: [Remains silent]
Tony Almeida: My wife left me, so how were you going to help me?
Jack Bauer: [looks down] Yeah
Tony Almeida: Look, I owed you for getting me out of prison and today I repaid that debt, and to tell you the truth, all you do is remind me of a past I'm trying to forget. So do me a favor: do what you need to do here and let's leave it at that.

"24: Day 6: 11:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (#6.18)" (2007)
Mike Doyle: [Doyle is about to take Jack into custody without Jack's knowledge] CTU wants us to take 70 instead.
Jack Bauer: Fine.
[Pulls a gun and aims it to Doyle's head]
Jack Bauer: Don't you move.
Mike Doyle: Jack, what's the problem?
Jack Bauer: Earlier today, I shot my old partner, a friend of mine, because he tried to stop me from doing what I had to do. Don't think for a second I won't do that to you. Slowly, I want you to pull over, now.

Jack Bauer: Audrey Raines was willing to give her own life to save mine. I cannot and will not do anything less for her.
President Wayne Palmer: You're asking me to sign off on a probable suicide mission!
Jack Bauer: With all due respect, Mr. President, sixteen hours ago your people were willing to hand me over for dead, and I did not hesitate.
Jack Bauer: Mr. President, you owe me.

"24: Day 6: 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. (#6.16)" (2007)
[Abu Fayed and Dmitri Gredenko sneak into a bar, unfortunately full of people and on the TV is the news about the day]
Dmitri Gredenko: [lets Fayed walk ahead looks at TV] I know that man. I recognize him.
[points at Abu]
Dmitri Gredenko: He's that man there!
Abu Fayed: [angrily] You son of a bitch!
[all hell breaks loose as Fayed tries shooting Gredenko but he manages to get behind a wall. Some of the patrons go after Fayed but Fayed shoots one and then runs dry on his pistol. Everyone takes advantage of this and knocks Fayed to the ground beating him up until Jack Bauer comes in firing 2 shots into the ceiling]
Jack Bauer: I'm a federal agent! I need you to step away so I can take that guy into custody. He's a wanted man!
Bar Guy: He just shot my friend!
Jack Bauer: I'm sorry about that, but I'll get an EMT in here quickly.
Abu Fayed: [spits] I hope your friend dies!
Jack Bauer: Shut up!
[kicks Fayed in the face]

"24: Day 4: 8:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (#4.14)" (2005)
Jack Bauer: Take my gun.
[Dina hesitates]
Jack Bauer: This has to look as convincing as possible, take my gun!
Dina Araz: You must know that I want to kill you.
Jack Bauer: Yes. But you won't because of Behrooz.

"24: Day 2: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (#2.4)" (2002)
Lynne Kresge: [Over cellphone] Right now you are the best chance we have of intercepting that nuclear weapon. I suggest you do your job.
Jack Bauer: [Annoyed] I'll do my job! You people better start doing yours!

24: The Game (2006) (VG)
Jack Bauer: [Chappelle confronts Jack as he just brought Kim back to C.T.U] You know what I did. I had no other choice.
Ryan Chappelle: That doesn't change the fact that you went against regulations.
Jack Bauer: Ryan, I'll take full responsibility for this some other time. Right now, you're preventing me from doing everything I can to stop these guys.

"24: Day 5: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (#5.2)" (2006)
Jack Bauer: The only reason you're still conscious is because I don't want to carry you.

"24: Day 7: 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. (#7.12)" (2009)
President Allison Taylor: This is the white house, for god's sake. How is it possible that they were able to get around our security protocols?
Jack Bauer: There's only one explanation. They had help on the inside.

"24: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (#1.12)" (2002)
Jack Bauer: [to Kevin Carroll] If anything goes wrong, everyone around the car dies-starting with you.

"24: Day 8: 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. (#8.21)" (2010)
Jack Bauer: [Jack unloads Pavel's sniper rifle as he prepares to 'interrogate' him] Springfield M1A rifle, .308 round.
[Sets the rifle on the table]
Jack Bauer: You know, about four hours ago, a friend of mine, a very good friend, Renee Walker, was killed by rifle just like that.
Pavel: Go to hell.
Jack Bauer: [Rips Pavel's shirt open, then pats him on the cheek] You first.

"24: Day 4: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (#4.24)" (2005)
Tony Almeida: [Jack has faked his own death rather than being taken prisoner in China. Tony, Chloe and Michelle are trying to revive him after the Chinese bought the cover] Come on Jack!
[Shocking Jack]
Tony Almeida: Come on Jack, stay with me. Jack!
Michelle Dessler: [Crying] Jack Please!
Chloe: Come on Jack!
[Tony takes a syringe and injects right into Jack's heart and Jack awakens]
Jack Bauer: [to Tony] Thanks Tony.
[Looks at all of them]
Jack Bauer: You do know that from now on we can't have any communication. You and President Palmer are the only four who know I'm alive and it has to be that way.
[Chloe and Michelle are crying. Tony and Jack shake hands and give a hug. Jack gets up and leaves]

"24: Day 4: 2:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m. (#4.20)" (2005)
Audrey Heller Raines: [Jack bursts into the operating room of Paul Raines with an injured Lee Jong. Audrey looks on] Jack, what's going on? Jack.
Dr. Marc Besson: You can't come in here.
Jack Bauer: He's dying!
Dr. Marc Besson: So is he. Get out of here, I just started this operation.
Jack Bauer: This man is our only connection to a stolen nuclear warhead. You gotta save him now!
Dr. Marc Besson: I'll get to him as soon as I can.
Jack Bauer: He's not gonna make it.
Dr. Marc Besson: I already have a patient.
Jack Bauer: [Jack motions Curtis to set up the gurney] Curtis.
Jack Bauer: [Jack pulls his gun on Besson] You have a new one.
Dr. Marc Besson: Are you crazy?
Jack Bauer: Maybe you didn't understand me. This is the only man that can help us find the missing warhead and stop it from being detonated. If you don't save him, millions of people will die, do you understand that? Millions of people. Start working on him now!
Audrey Heller Raines: Jack, what are you doing?
Dr. Marc Besson: If I walk away from Mr. Raines now, he will die.
Jack Bauer: You don't know that for sure.
Audrey Heller Raines: Jack!
Jack Bauer: [Ignoring her] Do it. Now!

"24: Day 3: 3:00 a.m.-4:00 a.m. (#3.15)" (2004)
Jack Bauer: [growing really disgusted with Amador's attitude] For the last time...
[picks up some poker chips and throws them]
Jack Bauer: ...where is the virus?
Michael Amador: Go to hell.
Jack Bauer: [pins Amador's arm down to the table and yells] Chase!
Chase: [with one hand he pries Amador's pinned hand open, with the other he uses a knife to slice across Amador's open hand]
[Amador passes out]
Jack Bauer: When he comes to, you do the same thing to his other hand.

"24: Day 6: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (#6.12)" (2007)
Charles Logan: [about Russian Consul Markov] He says he hasn't spoken to Gredenko in a year. He's lying - they're still in contact, and he knows enough about what's going on and and wanted to deny that.
Jack Bauer: How do you know?
Charles Logan: Because I've done enough lying myself to know the signs.

"24: Day 7: 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. (#7.11)" (2009)
Senator Blaine Mayer: You're reprehensible, Bauer.
Jack Bauer: And you, sir, are weak! Unwilling and unable to look evil in the eye and deal with it!

"24: Day 3: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (#3.18)" (2004)
[last lines]
Jack Bauer: God forgive me.

"24: 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. (#1.10)" (2002)
[after Teri and Kim are discovered using Eli's phone]
Eli: Who did you call? Who is this?
Jack Bauer: [On the phone] I'm the last thing you will ever see if anything happens to my wife or my daughter.

"24: Day 7: 11:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (#7.16)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: If you don't want to lose your men, you'll get them to stand down now. Now!

"24: Day 4: 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. (#4.3)" (2005)
Chloe: What if you're wrong?
Jack Bauer: I'm not.

"24: Day 7: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (#7.10)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: By the way, that stunt you pulled back at the car. If you ever pull your weapon on me again, you better intend to use it.
Renee Walker: I did.

"24: Day 7: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. (#7.15)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: Damn it.
Tony Almeida: Forget about him, Jack. He was dead the minute he stepped out that door. You and I both know that.

"24: Day 6: 5:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. (#6.24)" (2007)
Jack Bauer: In case you've forgotten, I'm very good at disappearing - and if you try sending someone after us I'll kill 'em. Pretty good at that too.

"24: Day 7: 1:00 a.m.-2:00 a.m. (#7.18)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: Who the hell do you think you are? You think this is easy? You think you understand what I'm going through? Because you don't. I am dying. And I was okay with it. I could handle it. And now you've put in front of me the one thing, the one thing that is gonna make this unbearable.

"24: Day 3: 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. (#3.19)" (2004)
Jack Bauer: I know you think you're doing the right thing,
[raising his voice]
Jack Bauer: but this is not going to happen.
Kim: Somebody has to do it!
Jack Bauer: Someone will, not you!Someone
Kim: [raising her voice] I'm the best match!
Jack Bauer: [raising his voice even more] You're not a field operative!
Kim: I have weapons training. This is decoy work. Saunders' people won't even come close to me.
Jack Bauer: [shouting] Kim, you don't know what you're talking about. If everything was to go right in this scenario, which not a chance I'm willing to take!
Kim: [shouting] You're not taking it! I am!
Jack Bauer: [grabs Kim and puts her up against the wall] The reason why you've got this job,
Jack Bauer: the reason why I GAVE you this job is so that I could make sure you'd be safe!
Kim: [voice breaking] I took this job because I wanted it, not because you wanted me here. I know that this is hard for you, but this is not your decision. This is my job; better yet, my duty. I'm gonna be safe.
Kim: But I'm doing it.

"24: Day 3: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. (#3.1)" (2003)
Kate Warner: [Last time speaking to each other and over the phone] I just wanted to let you know I found that leather jacket you thought you lost.
Jack Bauer: OK great.
Kate Warner: so what do you want to do? I can bring it over or have someone send it?
Jack Bauer: No you don't have to do that, I'll just send someone over to pick it up.
Kate Warner: You sure?
Jack Bauer: Yeah.
Kate Warner: Ok then.
Jack Bauer: How you've been?
Kate Warner: You know it's hard, I miss you.
Jack Bauer: I'm really, really sorry
Kate Warner: Don't be.
Jack Bauer: Take care of yourself
Kate Warner: Bye.

"24: Day 2: 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. (#2.2)" (2002)
Eddie Grant: You broke the guy's ankle, Jack.
Jack Bauer: He shouldn't have been playing with adults.

"24: Day 3: 5:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. (#3.17)" (2004)
Diana White: [Jack is about to take Diana away for interrogation from her house] I am not going anywhere without a lawyer!
Jack Bauer: [Smiles] You are not under arrest. We are taking you to MI6, where you will be interrogated by an agent of a Foreign Government. Your constitutional rights no longer apply. Let's go.

"24: Day 4: 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. (#4.15)" (2005)
Jack Bauer: Whatever you've planned next is going to fail. Just like everything else you've tried today.
Habib Marwan: Fail? Almost 40 dead in the train crash, many more near the San Gabriel Island nuclear plant.
Jack Bauer: That wasn't really your plan, was it? We managed to stop the other 103 power plants from melting down. That's what America will remember, that we stopped you.
Habib Marwan: No. They'll remember the image of Secretary of Defense Heller, held hostage on your own soil, and it will burn in their psyches. This country will forever be afraid to let their leaders appear in public.
Jack Bauer: For all the hatred that you have for this country, you don't understand it very well. Whatever you throw at us, I promise you, that will never happen.

"24: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. (#1.23)" (2002)
[Jack wants David Palmer to fake his own death]
Sherry Palmer: You've got to be kidding.
Jack Bauer: I've never been more serious in my life.

"24: Day 7: 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. (#7.24)" (2009)
Renee Walker: If we don't find these people, one day they will launch another attack, and I don't see how I can live with myself knowing that there was something I could have done to stop it. I don't know what to do.
Jack Bauer: I can't tell you what to do. I've been wrestling with this my whole life. I - I see 15 people held hostage on a bus, and everything else goes out the window. I will do whatever it takes to save them - and I mean whatever it takes. I guess maybe I thought if I save them, I could save myself.
Renee Walker: Do you regret anything that you did today?
Jack Bauer: No. But then again, I don't work for the F.B.I.
Renee Walker: I don't understand.
Jack Bauer: You took an oath. You made a promise to uphold the law. When you cross that line, it always starts with a small step. Before you know it, you're running as fast as you can in the wrong direction, just to justify what you started in the fist place. These laws were written by much smarter men than me. And in the end, I know that these laws have to be more important than the 15 people on the bus. I know that's right. In my mind, I know that's right. I-I just don't think my heart could ever have lived with that. I guess the only advice I can give you is try to make choices that you can live with.
Renee Walker: I don't know what to say.
Jack Bauer: Don't say anything at all.

"24: Day 7: 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (#7.23)" (2009)
Jack Bauer: In case you've forgotten I'm very good at disappearing, and if you try sending someone after us I'll kill them
[short pause]
Jack Bauer: Pretty good at that too.

"24: Day 4: 3:00 a.m.-4:00 a.m. (#4.21)" (2005)
David Palmer: [Over the phone] CTU tells me you got something from Lee?
Jack Bauer: We have a location on Habib Marwan, we're on route with tactical teams now. We're hopeful we can put an end to this soon.
David Palmer: I hope you're right, this warhead can detonate at any moment.
Jack Bauer: We all know that sir.
David Palmer: Tell me about the representative from the Chinese consulate, is he still at CTU?
Jack Bauer: He was there when we left.
David Palmer: Are we 'OK" there?
Jack Bauer: They have a surveillance photo of one of my team members. We told him the photo wasn't clear enough to be conclusive evidence. It's going to hold them off for a while.
David Palmer: I see, Thanks Jack.
Jack Bauer: Thank you Mr. President.

"24: Day 2: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (#2.1)" (2002)

Jack Bauer: [Rossler has been injured] My name is Jack Bauer, and I'm with CTU. Twenty-five minutes ago, you contacted a man named Ivan Erwich. What did he want you to do for him?
Jacob Rossler: I want my lawyer.
Jack Bauer: You'll get your lawyer as soon as I get what I need. Mr. Erwich is in possession of 20 canisters of Sentox VX nerve gas, which he has threatened to deploy here in the United States.
Jacob Rossler: I guess you have a problem.
Jack Bauer: I'd say you have a problem. You've been conspiring with and aiding known terrorists, which means I get to hold you for as long as I want. Now we know Mr. Erwich can't deploy the canisters unless he reconfigured a trigger mechanism; is that what he wanted you to do?
[Rossler is silent]
Jack Bauer: Trust me, you don't wanna go down this path with me.
Jacob Rossler: [With clenched teeth] Go to hell.
Jack Bauer: [Jack hits him in the face] That's exactly where I'm gonna send you unless you start to cooperate.
Jack Bauer: You like hurting girls? Curtis.
[Curtis steps on Rossler's wound]

Jack Bauer: [to Christopher Henderson, who is holding Audrey hostage] Why are you doing this? Why are you protecting Logan?
Christopher Henderson: I'm protecting something much more important than Charles Logan...
Jack Bauer: What?
Christopher Henderson: The integrity of our government!
Jack Bauer: Our government has no integrity!

Jack Bauer: [Jack has failed to talk Anderson out of his mission and is on the phone with Chloe] Was Air Force One just hit? WAS AIR FORCE ONE JUST HIT?
Chloe: [Chloe grabs her headset, listening] Escort fighters report... Air Force One has sustained an indirect hit from an air-to-air missile. Pieces are falling to the ground over the desert.
[Jack lowers his phone, looking completely shocked]

Mark DeSalvo: [DeSalvo's cell phone rings. Jack looks on impatiently] Yeah, he's right here. I understand.
Jack Bauer: We got permission to move Drazen?
Mark DeSalvo: No. That request is still making it's way up the chain of command, but DOD says you can interrogate him if you want.
Jack Bauer: Good.
[Jack prepares to walk to Victor's holding cell]
Mark DeSalvo: Bauer.
[Jack turns around]
Mark DeSalvo: Five minutes.
Jack Bauer: Fine.
Jack Bauer: [Jack goes into the holding room. DeSalvo watches Jack's interrogation on the moniters] My name is Jack Bauer. You'll have to pardon my surprise. I saw you die. I watched you enter a building. Nobody could have survived that explosion. Our intelligence told us the building was empty when you entered.
[Victor sits, stone faced]
Jack Bauer: Your fight is with me. Not my wife, not my daughter, but with me. Please... leave my family alone. Mr. Drazen, you have already lost your wife and your daughter. You don't need to lose your sons too.
Victor Drazen: My sons are soldiers.
Jack Bauer: Then they will die for nothing! We know about the rescue plan. It was scheduled for 7:20. We stopped it. We've called in for backup. If they try again, sir, they will die.
Victor Drazen: Then you have nothing to worry about.
Jack Bauer: Call it off, Victor.
Victor Drazen: How can I?...
Jack Bauer: The same way you've been communicating with them this entire time! Call it off or your sons will die!

Habib Marwan: It doesn't matter where you take me.
Jack Bauer: Yeah, we'll see about that.

"24: Day 4: 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (#4.9)" (2005)
[Navi has Behrooz hostage in an enclosed area but is very confident]
Tony Almeida: Let's try to open up a negotiation.
Dina Araz: My husband won't negotiate.
Tony Almeida: Why is that?
Dina Araz: He doesn't need to. He has to assume I have agreed to help you in return for my son's safety.
Tony Almeida: Well, he can't stay down there with him forever.
Dina Araz: He won't. In two hours, all the reactors will have gone critical. After that, it won't matter what I tell you, and he can kill my son. I am only helping you to save his life. I believe in our cause, and if you can't save my son, I am happy to see the reactors melt down.
Jack Bauer: [on phone with Discroll] Did you get that?

"24: 2:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m. (#1.3)" (2001)

Jack Bauer: [she walks away] hey
Jack Bauer: [he catches up to her] hey what's wrong?
Audrey Raines: Paul may have to go back into surgery, apparently the bullet did more damage than they thought.
Jack Bauer: I'm sorry.
Audrey Raines: I Keep thinking if I handled things differently, if I had trusted him more, maybe none of this would've happened.
Jack Bauer: you are not responsible for this, I and I alone, made the decision on how to handle Paul, I want you to remain effective, if you want to be able to do your job, you have to let it go.
Audrey Raines: that's your gift, you're able to block things out. I can't do that.
