Jack Skellington is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. He is a tall and rather slender(well because he's a skeleton). He wears a pinstripe suit and a bat bowtie. His best friend is Zero, his ghost dog and his secret admirer is Sally, the ragdoll made by Dr. Ficklestein.
What he does in the movie is that he is tired of the same thing every year (Halloween). He goes and finds a new place which amuses him, called Christmas Town. He realizes Christmas and its wonder,and decides to bring Christmas to Halloween Town. He tries to figure out Christmas, and then decides that he'll take over Christmas for the year. Everything is going well with Christmas preparations- in Halloween Town that is. They take Santa so he can have a vacation, and Jack is the new Santa for the year! Or "Sandy Claws", they call Santa. He's off giving Christmas presents to the children in the real world, really giving them a scare! The army shoot him down from the sky. He lands in a cemetary, and realizes that his holiday is Halloween! Then he remembers Santa! He has to set things right! So Jack heads right back to Halloween Town, finding Santa in the clutches of Oogie Boogie, the bad guy of the movie. Sally also got herself down there too, trying to save Santa. Jack gets down there and battles Oogie Boogie. Pulling his seam, Oogie turns into millions of bugs. Everything is set right again, and Santa brings snow and Christmas to the citizens of Halloween Town. Jack follows Sally who goes off to the spiral hill. At the end of the movie, they are together at the top of the hill, kiss and embrace, and they live happily ever after.
Jack Skellington is the lovable and good spirited King of Halloween. He also is the right hand man of the Mayor of Halloweentown, who is always asking Jack for advice. Though the representation of horror and fear, Jack is a kind individual, often developing schemes for the good of all, but not noticing their blatant flaws. His nemesis is the bug bag Oogie Boogie, who devises plots to stop Jack and take over Halloweentown with the help of Lock, Shock, and Barrel.
Jack is the star of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas', as well as appearing in both installments of the 'Kingdom Hearts' video game series as an ally to the player when the player reaches Halloweentown.
