"Highlander: The Colonel (#4.7)" (1995)
Joe Dawson: Amanda, for thousands of years, the Watchers have lived by one single set of rules. We observe, we record, and we stay the hell out.
Amanda Darieux: Would you give me a break? That is such a guy thing.

Joe Dawson: [after Joe has cut himself with a sharp knife] See? I bleed. I can get an infection and die.
Amanda Darieux: You want to run some cold water on that?

Joe Dawson: On the surface, we may look alike. But underneath, we are two different species. It's right that Mac backed off. It's better this way.
Amanda Darieux: Look, Joe, we're all different. Black, white, men, women, we all live in our own little worlds.
Joe Dawson: With me and Mac, it's different universes.
Amanda Darieux: Then why are you both so hurt?

Amanda Darieux: Come on, Joe. Just talk to him, okay? For me? Please?
Joe Dawson: I'll think about it.
Amanda Darieux: Good, because he's on his way over.
Joe Dawson: McLeod. Is coming here. To see me.
Amanda Darieux: Well, actually I told him you have the night off.
Joe Dawson: You expect me to make the first move.
Amanda Darieux: Would you? Please?

Duncan 'Mac: How did you find me?
Amanda Darieux: I had help from a friend.
Joe Dawson: Hello, Mac.
Duncan 'Mac: I thought we agreed to stay out of each other's way.
Joe Dawson: We can always throw you back if you want.

"Highlander: The End of Innocence (#5.2)" (1996)
Joe Dawson: That wasn't MacLeod.
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: Then who the hell was it? And where the hell is he now?
Joe Dawson: On a tramp steamer, halfway to Europe.

Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: You shot MacLeod, that's not getting involved?
Joe Dawson: It was a mistake.
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: Saving my life was a mistake?
Joe Dawson: I didn't mean it like that.

Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: You guys know way too much.
Joe Dawson: So I've been told.

Highlander: The Source (2007) (TV)
The Guardian: There can be only one.
Joe Dawson: Maybe, but they sure weren't talking about you.

"Highlander: Not to Be (#6.13)" (1998)
[Last lines of the series]
Duncan 'Mac: You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. You taught me that Life's about change, about learning to accept who you are, good or bad. And I thank you for that.
[pause]
Joe Dawson: I can't imagine my life without you Mac. Fact is, I don't want to.
[to Amanda]
Duncan 'Mac: I love you. I do.
Amanda Darieux: Really?
Duncan 'Mac: Yeah. You make my heart glad. You always have.

"Highlander: The Messenger (#5.10)" (1996)
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: [Richie, Duncan MacLeod, Methos, and Joe Dawson at Joe's bar] I mean, this is got to be some kind of joke. Joe, help me out here, I mean 5000 years of wisdom, him?
Joe Dawson: Well... I don't know about the wisdom, but uh, 5000 that's about right.
Duncan 'Mac: I know it's little hard to believe, but what you see is what you get, this is the real Methos.
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: You guys don't understand what I am saying, it's not the name that I care about, I mean this Methos, that Methos, it's the message I believe in.
Duncan 'Mac: Richie, the message is wrong and it's going to get you killed. You just met this guy. What he's saying goes totally against everything we know. Why would you want to believe him?
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: Because he offered me his life... now why would he do that?
Duncan 'Mac: Because he's afraid to fight you.
Adam Pierson: Or because he knew you wouldn't take it.
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: Oh yeah, right.
Adam Pierson: [Methos being sarcastic] There's one born every minute.
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: Okay, fine, whatever. I mean I am talking about peace here fellas. I am talking about a chance to end the killing forever... and you know something, of all people, I thought you would understand.
Joe Dawson: [Richie walks away disappointed] He's young all right, young people, they make mistakes.
Adam Pierson: [Methos responds humorously to Joe Dawson's comment] Yeah, look at Disco.
Duncan 'Mac: I got to get going, got someone to find.
Joe Dawson: I going to go on check on this... this other Methos guy. Maybe I'll turn something up.
Adam Pierson: Maybe I'll go buy some socks.

"Highlander: The Watchers (#2.1)" (1993)
[after opening a case taken from two Watchers and finding the expected laser surveillance gear]
Duncan MacLeod: Ohh! Does this come in pink?
Duncan MacLeod: [to Belson] Who are you? Talk to me!
Joe Dawson: [walking up behind Duncan] You'll know soon enough, Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod.
Duncan MacLeod: So you do know me.
Joe Dawson: We know all about you. Don't look so surprised. I probably know more about you than you know about yourself.

Highlander: Endgame (2000)
Duncan MacLeod: What're you doing here?
Joe Dawson: Keeping tabs on you.
Duncan MacLeod: Yeah? Well somebody should've kept tabs on that psychotic asshole back there.
Methos: Didn't you get it back in London? These guys don't play by the rules.

"Highlander: Indiscretions (#6.11)" (1998)
Adam Pierson: You know, we actually make a really good team. We could be like Scully and Mulder.
Joe Dawson: Yeah right.
Adam Pierson: Sipowicz and Simone.
Joe Dawson: Whatever.
Adam Pierson: Caligula and Incitatus. Maybe not Incitatus 'cause he was a horse.
Joe Dawson: Will you shut up?

"Highlander: Haunted (#5.8)" (1996)
Richard H. 'Richie' Ryan: [about MacLeod] He went to San Fransisco to whack the son of a bitch who killed her husband.
Joe Dawson: Richie... you're the son of a bitch who killed her husband.

"Highlander: The Valkyrie (#5.11)" (1997)
Duncan 'Mac: [Duncan MacLeod talks about Ingrid Henning's failed attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler back in 1944] Hitler should have died that day, but we failed. And Ingrid blames herself.
Adam Pierson: Come on, man, you are not buying into that tawdry, guilt-induced little melodrama.
Duncan 'Mac: Oh, I forgot. We're talking to the only guilt-free man in the Western world.
Adam Pierson: No, we're talking about Ingrid. It is the ultimate in arrogance to think that one person can alter the course of history.
Duncan 'Mac: You can't deny that by killing Hitler in '44 thousands of lives would have been saved. Maybe millions.
Adam Pierson: Yeah, and if you'd killed him in '43 like Rommel wanted, maybe Germany would have won the war. History makes men, MacLeod. Men don't make history. I'm talking about the time, 'kay? The "Zeitgeist," to quote the Germans. If it hadn't been the little painter from Austria it would have been someone else. Would have been a - I dunno - a shopkeeper, a garbage man. My point is, it doesn't matter. The times were ripe for a Fuehrer.
Duncan 'Mac: My point is it was Hitler.
Duncan 'Mac: [Duncan point at Joe Dawson and takes a step forward] You're a historian: what do you think?
Joe Dawson: [Joe smiles insouciantly and shakes his head] Uh huh. I'm not getting into the middle of this.
Duncan 'Mac: Coward.
Adam Pierson: Ditto.
Joe Dawson: All right. You want an answer? Who gives a damn?"
[Methos looks as if his point has been proved, but Joe continues]
Joe Dawson: What matters is that it's Mac's friend.
Adam Pierson: Pretty smart... for a kid.
Joe Dawson: What are you going to do?
Duncan 'Mac: In her heart she thinks she's right. And part of me agrees. I don't know how to stop her.
Adam Pierson: Don't you?
Duncan 'Mac: [tight and angry] No. I don't.
[Duncan walks away]
Joe Dawson: You know you really can be an arrogant pain in the ass sometimes.
Adam Pierson: Guilty as charged.

"Highlander: Homeland (#4.1)" (1995)
Joe Dawson: Look, why don't you stay, MacLeod?
Duncan 'Mac: Naw, too many questions left unanswered. Better just to disappear.
Joe Dawson: Yeah, I guess that's what legends are supposed to do.
